Best experience ever! Would do this a million times! The first class upgrade on the island spectacular is worth it!!

This experience was amazing and terrible at the same time. It was the first time I had ever been in a helicopter at the urging of my Army veteran husband. He was sure I would love it. The views and vistas were spectacular, but the helicopter company put us on a flight with parents of two very young children (likely 7 and 4 or so). We were required to wear headsets to hear all pilot instructions and each adult was given a microphone to speak to the pilot. Each of the two parents abdicated their microphone to their children who proceeded to talk the ENTIRE TRIP..."are we there yet, can we land there, where is the other pilot, have you ever crashed, what is this, what is that…”, and other quite inane questions. The pilot had to tell them a few times he needed to talk on the radio so they would stop for a few minutes. He handled it very gracefully, but barely got a word in edgewise for his normal narration. He chose beautiful background music for the flight but we barely heard it as the children's questions and comments were nonstop. My husband and I have 6 children so there is no doubt we absolutely love kids, but there is a time and place for non-stop chatter. This was not a flight with just their family, there were two other people who made a significant financial investment to have this experience. We were so hoping at some point, the parents would tell the children, “hey, there are other people on this flight, let's be quiet for a few minutes and let these other folks ask some questions" or "let's be quiet and enjoy quiet reflection time and enjoy the vast beauty ahead of us”. But no, they let them talk for almost 2 hours non-stop. We could not get out of the helicopter fast enough. We will definitely not EVER do this type of experience again with young children aboard unless they are our grandchildren and it is solely our family aboard. We will also recommend to our children, if they take their kids, to either have a solo family experience or to be mindful of other people aboard if they do not have kids. If there ever is a next time, we will know to ask to have an adult only flight.

The tour was very well organized. The instructions were clear, the waiting area comfortable. The tour started on time. Our guide Shane was fantastic; very knowledgeable and helpful. We saw various beautiful landscapes, many of which are unaccessible from land. I highly recommend this tour.

This was the most amazing experience! We felt so safe and our pilot Hans was so kind and such a great host! By far our favorite thing we did on the island. The views were absolutely breathtaking! Highly highly recommend!!!!!

My husband got claustrophobic and didn’t go. I got motion sick but the staff was great and dropped me off at a beautiful garden park. While I waited for my husband to come and pick me up.

See the diversity of the big island! This company is so professional, and the helipad is convenient to Waikoloa. We saw half the island in under two hours. Our pilot was knowledgeable and friendly and definitely a highlight of our trip.

Volcanoes and Valleys

Excellent tour over the volcanoes and the valleys on the northeast coast of the big island. Most memorable moments were flying into the valleys and seeing the incredible waterfalls.

Another check off on the bucket list, whilst on another bucket list item! Breathtaking!

Our pilot Shane was extremely informative. He invited all questions, and he would have had his ear full had I not had laryngitis at the time! Shane's knowledge and love of the island was very palpable and this tour really gives a different perspective of the Big Island. I did have some sinus congestion before boarding, and wound up getting airplane ear which has not resolved in over 24 hours, so I recommend that you hold off on this if you are susceptible to airplane ear or have a cold. We purchased the video which we will use to educate our grandchildren on volcanoes and the history of the Big Island. Thank you Shane!

A beautiful way to see the island- Big Island Spectacular

Blue Hawaiian helicopter. We did the big island spectacular which goes around almost the entire island (volcanos on south side, cliffs and waterfalls on north side). The northern part was our favorite! There is really no other way to see the incredible cliffs and waterfalls on this side of the island. Incredible! There wasn't active lava flow for the southern part. If there was, I think that would have been very cool. If you are prone to motion sickness on planes, I'd recommend taking motion sickness meds. It's a pretty smooth ride but our trip was 2 hours and that'd be a long time to feel sick! You are not able to pick your spot on the helicopter, they go by weight distribution. No matter where you sit, the views were really spectacular. There are 3 seats in the front (including the pilot) and 4 in the back. Our pilot was very knowledgeable. I asked him a lot of questions and loved learning more about the island. You'll feel like you should take pictures but I recommend not taking too many. They don't do the views justice! And there is some glare out the windows. Blue Hawaiian videotapes the entire ride and you can purchase your video for about $60 afterwards.

Der Pilot hatte eine sehr ruhige und angenehme Art. Er hat darauf geachtet, dass alle Passagiere die selbe Sicht hatten. Das Wetter war sonnig. Die Flugroute hat über die ganze Insel geführt. Insgesamt ein sehr tolles und unvergessliches Erlebnis.
