    Great small group tour that adjusted fantastically to road closures

    Billy Tea tours did a great job. Our truck van had 15 people so it was a good size to get into the sights and not a big bus crowd. Our guide did a great job commenting on the sites and history, but also stopping for photo ops in key spots. We saw lots of crocodiles along the river banks which was very cool. Our guide also did a great job "ad-libbing" to the tour when there was road construction due to the recent cyclones, he took us to a secluded beach side trip that was fantastic! Great "audible" on the play calling!
    Long Rough Ride For Some Okay Experiences

    Seeing some crocs (3) and two frilled lizards, along with a herd of wallabies in a sanctuary at the end. Our guide Andreas was great, which was what put this above a 2 star experience. The vehicle road very roughly (we were actually more sore from that the next day than the generally easy Rainforest walk); to be fair, previous flooding had damaged many parts of the road, making transit longer as well as rougher. The lunch was good and ice cream after was excellent. What was really disappointing was the misleading advertising about what would be experienced - specifically there was no rainfirest pool swimming ("Swim in the rainforest at pristine Emmagen Creek") nor was there an ATV ride ("4 wheel drive into dense tropical rainforest on the Bloomfield Track"). Both were apparently canceled due to previous (and current?) flooding? That that flooding might remove some experiences was mentioned; BUT given that that update / disclaimer was posted mentioning some stops (one still included in the title of the tour!), that the other two experiences were also cancelled could have surely been specified (reportedly the rainfirest pool was destroyed in 2019!).

    Tour canceled due to weather, we understand this, but they never notified us until we called when our pick up was 30 mins late making it too late to book other activities.

    Hi Shelly, we contact all of our customers in the event of cancellation. Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances this could be on the day of the tour which sounds like this could have been the case. With the amount of rain we have been seeing, the weather can be very unpredictable at the moment. We apologise for any inconvenience caused for your holiday, we completely understand that this would have been upsetting to find out the morning of your tour. We hope you still enjoyed your time in Cairns and hope we can make this up to you in the future.

    Such a fun time! Gavin was a great guide and you can tell he loves his job and where he lives! While we didn't get to go to all the places we originally supposed to (because of the cyclone and clean up) the changes in itinerary didn't lessen the day. Lunch in a rainforest was fun and loved the river cruise down the Daintree!

    Rowan and the Team at Billy Tea Safari are amazing! He was so informative and friendly and took us on a wonderful adventure yesterday! We seen so many different species of wildlife from crocodiles, kangaroo, Boyd’s forest dragon and spiders. We took the boat cruise in the Daintree River and drove all through the Daintree national park. We went to Thornton Beach, swam at after our hike in Mossman George! I loved all his nicknames he had for us Team Canada was ours ❤️! What a wonderful experience and definitely recommend this company to lead you through all these amazing experiences!!

    Spectacular day exploring the Daintree National Forest with Gavin. He is so knowledgeable of the forest, the lizards, snakes, insects and foliage. Highly recommend this tour!

    Rowen was an amazing tour guide!!! He was full of knowledge, was kind, helpful, and always put in the extra effort to make sure we all had a great time!!! The Daintree rainforest was beautiful and we even saw crocodiles!!

    the riverboat tour was excellent. The bus is quite uncomfortable and bounces violently. I know they normally go off roading, so they are trying to have that experience, but do not ride this tour if you have a bad back or head ache issues. The tour is also quite long with not a lot of value add.

    Even though Cape Tribulation and Bloomfield Track were inaccessible due to recent mudslides, we managed to have a nice tour of the rainforest. It's the 2nd biggest natural attraction in the area, only beaten by a visit to the Great Barrier Reef. Our driver was great, and fun (including a very good sit down lunch) was had by all.

    12 hours, mostly on a bus. Very little physical activity. Seems every tour bus company was in the same locations. A 30 min. boat ride, another drive for lunch, ice cream stop, a very slow short walk in the forest.
    Fun time exploring despite altered itinerary due cyclone jasper

    I had a fun time on this tour! A lot of the itinerary was altered due to impact of cyclone Jasper unfortunately but this was communicated to us beforehand. We unfortunately didn’t see too many animals, likely due to them relocating because of the cyclone. The beach stop was my least favorite as we just stood on the beach and walked if we wanted to for a few minutes. My favorite was swimming at Mossman Gorge! The ice cream was the best I’ve ever had (dairy-free friendly)!! The lunch was delicious and they had a vegan option👍🏼 super cool seeing the worlds oldest rainforest(:

    This tour had to be amended because of the cyclone (we knew this before booking). We got to see the impact for ourselves. It was a fabulous day- friendly and informative guide Gav. Didn't feel rushed at all but got loads out of the day. Would definitely recommend.

    Unfortunately, due to the storms following Cyclone Jasper, the itinerary for this tour was modified, so we went to the Daintree Rainforest, Daintree River, and Mossman Gorge. The Daintree Rainforest is beautiful, and Mossman Gorge is a must-see. We took a dip and the water felt amazing and had a strong current, also becomes of the storms. We saw 1 small crocodile in the Daintree River. Graeme was a great tour guide who showed us green ants and how you can eat them for a Vitamin C boost! :D

    We were somewhat disappointed that we did not find out until we were actually on excursion that the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation was cancelled. While we understand why, we also would have appreciated a heads up. We know people cannot control the weather but we also would have like that part of the cancelation told to us prior. Our guide Tony was awesome and did the best that he could given the circumstances.

    Considering the road closures after the cyclone, the amended Daintree tour turned into a fantastic day and Tony our guide was brilliant. Would recommend Billy tea tours to fellow travellers.
