Both my husband and I agree that the private doors off helicopter tour with Ali’i Kauai Air Tours & Charters was the highlight of our first trip to beautiful Kauai! My fear and uncertainty was eliminated immediately by the amazing staff at check- in and the competence and experience of the pilot. The flight is so smooth and the scenery spectacular! We could not have had a better time experiencing the amazing Na Pali Coast! Everyone must take this tour!

What an amazing helicopter tour of Kauai-highly recommend this doors off tour! The check in was smooth and waiting area comfortable. Received a safety briefing before we went out to the helicopter and a second one by Guy, our pilot, before we boarded the helicopter. Guy was amazing, felt very safe with him. He was extremely knowledgeable about the island and he’s been flying for over 40 years-so you are in good hands. The tour had music to accompany the information about what we were seeing from Guy. I was a little hesitant about the doors off aspect but it was not nearly as windy or cold as I was expecting. We even flew through some rain but didn’t get wet at all! Just make sure you braid or corral your hair securely if you have long hair! My husband is 6’5” and he fit in the rear passenger seat, so there is plenty of room! The views of the canyons, waterfalls, and coastline are stunning! Just do it!!

The entire flight was memorable!! As a result of the large rain storm the night before, the mountains were FULL of waterfalls and full flowing rivers. So it made for excellent picturesque views. We also were able to spot whales jumping out of the water as we flew over the ocean. Our pilot, James, was incredibly friendly and ensured that we were safe as we made our way around the island. I HIGHLY recommend this excursion to anyone wanting to see gorgeous views without the barrier of doors.

Extraordinary Kauai doors-off private helicopter experience with a Norwegian pilot

I highly recommend taking the morning doors off private helicopter tour on your first full day. Our Norwegian pilot made us so comfortable, playing music and explaining how it would feel flying in this helicopter. She was very thoughtful making sure to maneuver the helicopter so we were able to take pictures from each side of the helicopter.

Great way to fully understand and appreciate the terrain on the island. From sheer cliff wall, inaccessible waterfalls, to the coastlines. You see it all. Winds were a bit high on the day we flew but our pilot (Felipe) was sensational. Never once felt uncomfortable or unsafe. This was an incredible experience that I would highly recommend. Doors off, you really feel the experience.
