Great team! We were 5 (4 daughters 9-12-13-14 yo and a father 46) and everyone succeeded easily. 2 hours was plenty enough. I strongly recommend.

Joe and Lucia were awesome! They assessed the weather and water patterns and ended up taking us to the turtle spot first, which allowed us to be all alone there. We saw so many turtles! Then headed out to the crater while everyone was racing towards the turtles and we got the best tie up spot and a whole area to ourselves! They were friendly and knowledge, and even went out of their way to give us extra time to see some whales! Would definitely recommend

Captain Brandon & Jesse were knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic. It was well planned. Both of them presented information regarding the islands, geology, animals & plants. Captain Brandon made sure that everyone could get a great view of the whales. Turtle cove was also outstanding. This excursion is surpassingly one of the best snorkeling experiences I have had. Lunch & snacks they provided also were great. It was fun to see the quiet pleasure Captain Brandon had in showing us the humpback whales! I would recommend this tour as one if the best I have had in Maui.

John and Jess were fantastic. They were clear in all of their instructions so we knew what to do and what not to do. They were fun and took great care of us. John took us Turtle Town first because of the choppiness of the water at Molokini. This meant that we had Turtle Town to ourselves. Then we had perfect conditions for Molokini.

Skipper Brandon and first mate Lucia were fantastic hosts. They picked 2 ideal locations and the snorkeling was fantastic especially at Molokini. Perfect trip.

Our trip with Captain Brandon and Jess exceeded our expectations. Both Brandon and Jess were very friendly and engaging to share their knowledge and make everyone comfortable and safe. The boat is small and provides a personal experience. The boatride was not too rough and nobody got sick, even with the small boat and some bigger waves. Our 6- and 8- year olds had never snorkeled from a boat before and the gear fit well and the guides were helpful in making them comfortable, allowing the 6-year old to come back and sit in the boat for breaks and keep her entertained. With one person in our group scared of snorkeling from past experiences, this was one of the highlights of the trip and was smooth and amazing. Highly recommend this particular snorkeling excursion!

Joe and Jess were the best! They were knowledgeable and very competent! Would go with them again! Smaller boat size was a plus. Saw some whale action on the way back! They went out of their way to make this a fun, pleasant opportunity for everyone on board!

Amazing time! Booked the 4 hour Molokini Crater and Turtle Town with Captain Joe and crew Jess. We saw numerous turtles and various wildlife. Joe and Jess were accommodating, kind, knowledgeable, and super friendly telling stories and showing their favorite wildlife. Plus - it was two people in our groups first time snorkeling and Joe and Jess were extremely helpful and supportive!!

Great snorkeling experinece at Molokini and Turtle Cove. Added bonus of watching 3 different pods of whales along the way. Crew (Brandon and Jess) were excellent! If you're looking for a fun, safe way to see the waters of Maui at its best, Makena Coast Charters is the way to go!!!

The snorkeling was a blast! Saw tons of different kinds of fish. swam with the chill sea turtles. They had a nice lunch awaiting us after the snorkeling. All in all was a very memorable experience that I highly recommend! SIDE NOTE - at NO fault of Makena Charters but be aware of people breaking into your vehicle at the public parking lot at the boat launch. We had all of our stuff stolen out of our truck while we were off on the boat.

Highly recommend this excursion. Joe and Jess were super friendly, knowledgeable and made sure we had a great time. We saw way more than we thought and although I know some of that is weather and conditions beyond their control, I do think they played a big part in making our experience memorable!

We had such a great time on the Getaway with Captain Joe and Jess!! We especially appreciated how they planned the day to give us the best experience based on winds, temp and other boats. The whole day felt like we were on a private tour and both Joe and Jess were helpful, friendly and a joy to do business with!! Pick this tour if you wanna have the best experience!!

What an excellent experience, no lines, easy check in. Joe and Jesse were over the top. Jesse is an board certified marine biologist and shared so much knowledge with us. Joe hates crowds and took us to places where boats had either left or had not been there yet., leaving us with the best experience for our morning. Some are thinking smaller boat… we took 2 anti-nausea chewables and did fine. We had a small group of 10 and no one else became sick either. It was great !!! Highly recommend.
