360-degree view of the city of Amman

The Roman theater and the Citadel were really worth seeing. In particular, from the Citadel, I can get a 360-degree view of the city of Amman, and it was my first experience in a place like this in my life. On the way through downtown, the traffic moved forward very slowly, which fortunately gave me a good idea of how people lived. The driver always tried to drive safely and was very attentive to me.

Touring Amman

Almost needed to pay more due to incorrect information on the site’s description, but we were accommodated to what we paid for. Our tour started an hour after the scheduled time too, so we visited the mosque, arena, and citadel. Beware in the Bazaar at the mosque. We left with the things we intended to buy, but they take you around the entire store even after saying we only want to look at a certain item. The woman was nice and even offered great tea, but it was at least a 30 minute delay before they showed us what we wanted. The reason this is 4 star is because we toured with Omar and had an amazing time touring the city. He showed us great spots and picturesque locations. Got us to the locations promptly, didn’t rush us, and drove very nicely. Felt completely safe and learned a lot about Jordan’s history and culture!

We did not go to the old town even though I requested it. Citadel, amphitheater and mosque. It was fine, but I wanted more.

Ancient Roman ruins

Roman theatre was very well preserved and impressive to admire. Citadel is a large area to cover in a limited time. Museum was worth the visit and to admire collection of items preserved.

Great into to being in Amman

Our driver Omer was very friendly and mastered enough English to make us understand some of the nuances of the places we visited. He recommended a nice reasonalby priced restaurant for lunch. He also treated us to some kanafeh at Habibah!

Amman city tour.

Omar my driver collected me from my hotel on time drove first to the Roman theatre for an half hour visit then drove to the Citadel for an hour. Both are spectacular monuments. This is not a guided tour, you can hire a guide at each place if you wish. We called at the Blue mosque for a short visit on the return to the hotel.

Great way to orient to Amman

The citadel, Roman theater, and mosque are all amazing sites. Definitely a worthwhile tour. Our guide, Omar, was very helpful. Limited English, but the points got across. Note that the mosque tour entry and exit is a souvenir shop with some “soft selling” efforts.

Minimal English

We were picked up 30 minutes late with a driver who barely spoke English as advertised. As a result we were confused about what was happening. We discovered that he was taking us to a site where there was a guide but again, very limited English. Finally at another site, we got an English speaker. After that, the driver gave us a very nice tour of the city by car and could point out various sites which saved the tour. So just beware that taking this tour may not be as presented. In addition the phone number to call the company was a US number and there was no way to call it had the driver not shown up.
