What an amazing place the Acropolis is, so much history and beauty. This private guided tour gave us so much more than simply wandering around the site possibly could have. We learned so much of the history of the area and the monuments through our passionate guide. Theodora is such an asset to Athens. She was friendly, caring, well spoken and incredibly knowledgeable. We loved the pride she clearly displayed for her nation and its national treasures that she gave us an introduction to. It was complementary to explore the Acropolis and slopes then the Acropolis Museum, they go hand in hand. We are very keen to come back one day to explore more. Theodora ignited a spark.

Where do I begin?!! My 18 year old niece and I were SO blessed to have Anda as our personal tour guide up the hill, through all the sites and in the museum. She is an ABSOLUTE EXPERT in her field! Her love of the architecture and history are so obvious in her love of teaching it to others. Reading a tour guide book would never have compared to the ability to hear all the history, see pictures of the Acropolis throughout time that she brought with her, and to be able to ask questions. She was so very personable, as well...keeping us engaged through Q&A, spending just the right amount of time at each spot and making sure we really knew what we were seeing. Going through a tour of Acropolis and its sites is probably everyone's once-in-a-lifetime, and having that individual attention given in a private guided tour is worth every single penny!

The guide's knowledge, love of the subject, patience, and depth of history made this an exceptional experience. The tour lasted almost 4 hours, and every minute was interesting. We all agreed it was a wonderful finale to our trip and worth every penny. Highly recommend!!

Not one to write a review and actually waited a couple weeks to write to let my initial frustrations subside. Having said that, I feel I need to give our experience so others are informed prior to working with this company. And know that my husband and I travel a lot and do quite a few private tours for a more personal experience. This tour is advertised as an “approximately” 4 hour tour (2 hours at the Acropolis and 2 hours at the Acropolis Museum). In a nutshell, our tour from meeting at 9am across from the Acropolis to the end of the tour at the Acropolis Museum lasted 3 hours and 10 minutes. We spent about 2 hours at the Acropolis and about an hour at the museum (skipping many of the things in the museum). After our tour guide left, we contacted the tour operator to let them know about the time variance vs what was advertised. The response was that this was an “approximately” 4 hour tour that could be 3 hours or 5 hours. Approximately in our mind is maybe 10 minutes…not 50 minutes. When we requested a PARTIAL refund for the tour being “approximately” 3 hours vs the 4 hours (as advertised), the tour guide came back to find us at the museum very frustrated and asking what else we wanted to see. We didn’t know what else we wanted to see since we weren’t the guide to know what all was there to see. Not to mention we wouldn’t want to continue a tour with a guide that confronted us in a very irritated manner. We tried to explain this to the tour guide as well as the operator neither of which seemed to see our point and stuck with the “approximately” 4 hours for the tour. We understand there are longer lines at certain times of the year that can affect your time at each of the places on this tour but saying 2 hours at the museum and being there just over an hour with our guide (skipping many things in the museum) seems a miss on the part of the tour guide and not due to how busy the museum was that day. One would think the tour guide would know enough about the museum to elaborate on other parts when knowing you had more time to spare. Either way, the response from the tour company’s owner, John, was there would be NO REFUND/ PARTIAL REFUND. My ask of this company is that they change their advertisement of this tour to reflect what “approximate” means so that the customer knows this could be 3 hours or 5 hours long (or somewhere in between).
**PLEASE NOTE: NOT A TOUR FOR ELDERLY OR THOSE UNABLE TO CLIMB MULTIPLE STAIRS** My mom planned to do this tour with us (we paid for her to attend the tour as well) but she decided not to go after doing more research. We were told the tour guide would help her (my mom has a lung condition and carries a portable oxygen) but there is no way she would have been able to do this tour even with the help of the tour guide. Also, unwilling to refund her part of the tour minus the fee for her tickets (which is totally understandable if tickets already paid for).

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It is a great opportunity for us to explain what really happened. First of all, you wanted an enderly person with oxygen bottle inhaler and stability problems (your mom) to do the tour. We informed you about a week before the tour that this is not wise and she will have trouble doing something like that. You responded that the tour guide could help her all the way up to Acropolis. We responded that the tour guide always helps (this is evident from the countless top reviews that refer to our tour guides offering their help beyond and above to elderly people). You decided to keep the initial reservation so we bought all the tickets. The day of the tour at the meeting point you said to the tour guide that your mom decided not to come.
The tour itself is about 4 hours. We cannot give an exact time as every person has its own pace. If there are elderly people and there is a line to enter we even do 5 hours. Should we charge them more? You were young people and at the day there was no line so near the end of the tour you said to the tour guide that you are very satisfied and it was a great tour and she asked you if you wanted to stay some more as it is earlier than 4 hours. You said that you were good. She estimated that you were tired from the tour and all the info. You also gave her a very good tip. So, if you were dissapointed in her, why you gave her tip? Once you contacted us that the tour was not completed we contacted her and she came in 2 minutes. She was polite and told you to continue the tour with even more info. You said that you did not want to continue. If you wanted to continue the tour and you were not satisfied, why you did not continue?
All the above, the way that you handled the situation shows that you were not interested in the tour itself. You just wanted to be refunded for your mom that she did not participated. We informed you from day 1 that you had to cancel her space but you ignored us.
Our company has top tour guides, some are Archaeologists, some with Phd's some with a Master's degree. All of them are professional and we are top rated. We would never act in the way that you describe. We are always at your disposal.

Well worth the extra for a private guide! She was amazing ! Great experience! The tour guide was passionate about the history of Athens and was very knowledgeable. We were able to skip the lines to the museum which added to the experience .
