Wonderful experience; I was traveling alone and booked this tour. The photo in this review is Hara and I. She is the service manager with the heart of an angel. I missed my bus and she personally picked me up and took me to the next stop to ensure I made the tour. She has a passion for helping people and ensuring every customer has the best experience ♥️

Excellent Tour

We really enjoyed our tour. Going to Acropolis early in the morning was perfect. Our tour guide was very considerate with going up the hill in 30c as we stopped few times so we can learn history and rest before continuing the climb as it help elderly and not so fit people(me lol) to get to the top without any issues. I would have given 5 stars but the only issue i had is I wanted full English tour but we end up in the group with another language. I know our tour guide did her best to explain in both languages but it I felt that we always missing something. Beside this one little complain we enjoyed our time learning and exploring beautiful Athens and Cape Sounion.
Experience of a lifetime!

Our guides were amazing! Friendly and knowledgeable but also knowing to give the group enough time to explore on their own! I have tried to figure out which part of the day was my favorite but honestly EVERYTHING came together to make the day perfect! My husband has always been very intrigued with Greek mythology and to actually see where these legends were formed first hand was unbelievable!

The Acropolis . Bot enough time on this site or the temple of Poseidon. The tour waisted time picking up people on the way. I feel that I have paid for being taking around the city for no reason. You should have a centralized location where people can wait then begin a tour. The lunch that was included came with not even a bottle of water. Three hours of this tour was a complete waist.
Response from Host, Apr 2023
Dear Ernest, Thank you for your review. No any drinks and water was included in your package therefore lunch served only. The pick up service is free of charge and it is offered to all clients including you of course from Athens Gate and starting earlier than tour departure. As for Sounio tour we pick up you at 15:00 and go to Sounio on time without delays on the way as was Holly Friday and the site was closing at 17:00. Thank you Hara Kritikidou Customer Service Manager
Athens and the Greek Rivera to Cape Sounion
Richard_H, Oct 2022
in the morning we were picked up by one bus at our hotel (Wyndham Grand Athens) and dropped at another hotel (Hotel Amalia) in Syntagma Square to meet our Athens tour. We did a brief tour of the city by bus, stopped at the Olympic Stadium and then to the Acropolis. Since we had taken an abbreviated similar tour the day before offered by Princess Cruises, I had the opportunity to climb the Acropolis twice (85 or so steps) but my wife sat out the second opportunity. This tour included admission to the Acropolis museum. Our AM tour guide, Dimitra, was knowledgeable and actually did a better job at the Acropolis than the Princess Tour guide did the day before. The museum has many of the sculptures etc. from the Acropolis which had to be removed to preserve them, due to smog and the elements effect on them. It got a bit hectic after that, since this was actually 3 separate events pieced together, and not a single tour as the writeup suggested. Our AM tour guide walked us to the restaurant for lunch and worked it out with the head waiter and told us we needed to meet our afternoon tour up the street at Hotel Athens Gate at 3 pm. Using Google map, we figured out where that was and got to the hotel, where we picked up the afternoon Tour bus. Fortunately, they had our name on their roster. The afternoon bus drove us down the Greek Rivera with resort homes, beaches, and restaurants- a lovely ride, to Cape Sounion and the Temple of Posidon late in the afternoon. Very scenic and refreshingly different from downtown Athens. After the tour of the Temple, we were driven back into town and dropped off at our respective hotels. The experience of the tours was great, but should be clear that it is really 2 separate tours and a lunch experience, rather than a single tour for the day. Would have been less stressful to have known that when booking.
Temple of Poseidon must see
Amy_G, Aug 2022
This was a wonderful tour! Everything was well planned from pick up to drop off and our guides were very knowledgeable. We would highly recommended the trip out to see the Temple of Poseidon. It was less crowded and more peaceful than the Acropolis. Plus it makes for great photos!
I recommend.

My son raved about this adventure so I went at a later time. It was exceptional! Great guides. I did the all day trip with the Parthenon, lunch and Cape Sounion.
Fun day out

We had a lovely day of touring. We enjoyed the trip to the Acropolis and Cape Sounion. For the museum tour, although it was guided, we joined it partially (at the start and the end) and spent some time on our own in the museum to explore. Lunch was really good-very generous portions and tasty food. Please be prepared for an uphill fast pace walk to the Acropolis and huge crowds.
What a wonderful Tour I’d Athens Greatest Highlights.

The acropolis was was just monumental. It felt great to be in the birthplace of Ancient Greece, then to see the wonderful historic pieces in the acropolis museum. The museum design is a piece of art in itself with its delightful open space concept. I feel so enriched by this whole experience👌

REVIEW OF Athens, The Acropolis and Cape Sounion Full-Day Tour with Lunch
Sadhan_M, Jul 2019
Tour guides were excellent, professional, knowledgeable, bus services was excellent, reliable, helpful, supportive, and informative. It seems like we were the only family had full day tour with Lunch but believe me or not that lunch was excellent, it came with starter, main menu and desserts, we could not eat the whole menu. Overall we enjoyed the tour beautifully, gathered a tons of information about Athens and the tour guides ( there were 2 guides, one for Athens city, another one was for Cape Sounion) was excellent. 5 stars.

I wish there was more time to see the different attractions. There is so much information to learn that more time would make a difference.
Fun day in Athens and Cape Sounion!!

This was a great tour. The guide was very informative. The scenery was beautiful and lunch was very good.
Great day!!
SAUMITA_L, Jul 2018
The tour started a little chaotic when the bus was late. then the guide did not explain the process and what was to expect so we sat on a hot bus for some time while they coordinated all the passengers. Once the tour got started it was really great. the lunch was amazing. and the afternoon tour to Cape Sounion was beautiful. My only issue is that we did not stay for the sunset. I wish that the afternoon tour started later and stayed for the sunset or stopped at a local beach area for people to walk around. otherwise it was good. VERY HOT.
Great guides but disappointing and bad first impression
Nadine_G, Jul 2018
My first time in Greece and with any new country I visit, I like to dive right in. I was met by a representative at the pick up site and I was then transferred to another hotel which appeared to be the meeting point for several tours with the local operator. It was chaotic, and quite off putting. I booked a full day tour so when my tour bus arrived, I was confused as to whether or not there was a bus for the half day passengers and another for the full day like myself. I asked a woman who was directing us like cattle and she was extremely RUDE. Without the tourists, she doesn’t have a job, let’s be honest. My interaction with her, is mainly why I can not rate this trip higher. The guides for the morning and afternoon tours were excellent and very eager to share their knowledge about Athens with you. The lunch which was included was quite disappointing honestly.
Athens in a day

We were not aware that this tour was two tours combined. The morning part started at 9. The Acropolis part was good. The rest was not that great. The guide was not that good. The lunch was good. The afternoon trip started at 3pm. After lunch we have to sit around until 3 for the second trip. The guide for this trip was not that good at all. Overall it was an ok trip
Full Day Athens Tour

This was a nice tour with a bus to the Acropolis with guide narrative of Athens along the way. The guide give some history but after a while I got lost in the names, dates, battles, and details. I just wanted to get to the top. We had over an hour at the top which was fine. Lunch was good and lots of food. The drive to Cape Sounion was about 90 minutes and you get a lot of history on the way. At the Temple of Poseidon there is a nice little restaurant to relax after exploring the temple. If I had to do it again I would do the Acropolis on my own after visiting the museum first but do the tour to Cape Sounion. Overall it was a good booking and the guides were all great.

This is a very good tour. Personally its best to choose the option with lunch when purchasing this tour. You can request to be picked up at your hotel within the city limits of Athens. Hotel Amalia is the meeting place for the bus if you choose otherwise. Hotel Amalia is a 4 star hotel which has a nice atmosphere. The morning will begin around 0845-0900 and last approximately until 1115. Acropolis Museum is an option as you will be asked if you would like to pay for this. I choose not to because The National Archaeological Museum in Athens houses some of the most important artifacts from a variety of archaeological locations around Greece from prehistory to late antiquity. Since I choose not attend the extra charge of the Acropolis Museum, Hotel Amalia prepares a beautiful lunch for you. Afterwards, you will have approximately 3 hours of free time if you are doing Cape Sounion in the afternoon. I walked to the Mitropoleos Square which only takes less than ten minutes to walk. Here you can purchase many different items for negotiable prices. This is one of the better places for shopping in Athens for tourists. Many times at the tour locations, the prices are slightly higher. Cape Sounion is noted for its Temple of Poseidon, one of the major monuments of the Golden Age of Athens. Its remains are perched on the headland, surrounded on three sides by the sea. Cape Sounion will depart approximately 1445 from Hotel Amalia. This was the highlight of the trip in my opinion. It takes about one hour to drive. Most of the driving is along the coastline because Cape Sounion is located on the southernmost tip of the Attic peninsula in Greece. Once you arrive ensure you walk the entire grounds. Dont just focus on the Temple of Poseidon. You can take beautiful pictures if you walk the steps/trails.

We ended up skipping out on the second part of this excursion. The drive around the city in the morning was nice but did not feel like we really got much out of it. We very much enjoyed our guided tour to the top of the Acropolis, but the guided tour of the museum was quite dry and dragged out. We ended up skipping lunch because past reviews were not great and why waste a meal in Greece when there is so much great food around! With the first half of the day being pretty meh we ended up just creating our own little adventure instead.

Excellent tour. Our guide very knowledgeable. Well timed as we were able to see the changing of the guard at the Parliament. Plenty of time to wander around the Acropolis. The Parthenon is a must see. New Acropolis museum added to the significance of the sights. Cape Sounion with temple of Poseidon completed the trip.

This is a two part tour. The morning was the Acropolis Museum which did not include the entrance fee. It was amazing and highly encourage the visit. Just not sure what we would have done if we didn't agree to go. The Acropolis was amazing!!. This part of the tour ended and we were brought to the Amalia Hotel where they served us lunch. This was the worst food we had while in Greece. It consisted of a very flat omelette with four oval shaped ground meat patties, which had gristle and bone in them, potatoes and rice. The Greek salad was good. The second part of the tour was a lovely trip to Cape Sounion and the ruins there were lovely. Both tour guides for the morning and afternoon were great.
