What To Expect

Make your own way to the meeting point in downtown Austin to begin your Segway tour.

Your guide welcomes you, then provides a safety briefing and time to get familiar with the Segway operations. After a few minutes of practice, most people are ready to roll.

Follow your guide through downtown Austin to see landmarks such as the Texas State Capitol Building, Congress Avenue, the historic Driskill Hotel. the Warehouse Entertainment District, Lady Bird Lake, and other interesting sites. Your guide shares informative commentary about the city and its history as you travel at a leisurely pace by Segway.

After 1.5 hours, your guide returns you to your starting point to end your tour.

Worth it!

We were all new to riding segways, and we had a blast. Riding through the capital grounds was a highlight of the tour for me. My kids liked riding the streets in the bike lanes. Matt was a great tour guide. He was patient with us. The tour was interesting and informative. Instead of asking my family “Did you like it?”, I always ask: Would you do it again? The answer was a unanimous “yes”!!!

After signing waivers, we were all given brief lessons on operating Segways. I went from complete noob to confident rider in about 5 minutes. Then we were off, traveling past the Texas capitol and governor's mansion and then into the heart of Austin's vibrant city center, which was alive with people due to the SXSW festival going on at the same time. Kelsey was a terrific guide, taking time to explain each site as we passed and also making sure of our safety and training. Me and my family returned to 2nd street after the tour and had lunch at a terrific pizza place we saw during the tour. It was a great afternoon we all enjoyed.

Our guide, Kelsie, did not receive a tip from anyone in our your group! Why? Because we paid for a 90 minute tour and only received a 65 minute tour! This was not cool and unacceptable.

The first thing that springs to mind is the care that Kelsey went to to ensure the safety of the riders. He would point out bumps in the road, low branches and tight turns, excellent. The tour was really interesting and enjoyable and was over far too quickly!
