What To Expect

After pickup from your Bayeux hotel, travel by air-conditioned minivan to Normandy’s coast. The first stop is at Omaha Beach, one of the five D-Day beaches where Allied troops landed on June 6, 1944. Hear about the hard-fought battles of the Normandy Invasion as you walk in the footsteps of the US soldiers, then continue to the battle site of Pointe du Hoc, where the U.S 2nd Ranger Battalion scaled the 90-foot (27-meter) cliffs to recapture the strategic site from the Germans.

After peeking inside the old bunkers, visit the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, home to more than 9,300 American soldiers. Next, stop at another D-Day landing site, Utah Beach, to visit the Utah Beach Landing Museum, followed by the town of Sainte Mere Eglise, where the 82nd Airborne Division carried out their offensive. Your tour ends in Bayeux, where you’ll be dropped back at your hotel.

Since childhood, I have been fascinated with military history, in particular World War II. My visit to Normandy with Gold Beach Company checked all the boxes. Lucas, our tour guide and a Normandy native, was outstanding and shared his personal history in context with us. In addition to the sites listed in the tour itinerary, we also visited Sainte-Marie-du-Mont and learned about the town’s D-Day connection. The van was comfortable, and we enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the Utah Beach stop. I highly recommend this tour without reservation!

Historical Normandy

My wife and I did the eight hour tour of Normandy. Our guide took us to numerous historical spots. It was a lot to take in but we were both glad we went on the longer day tour.

Victor was amazing in the depth and breadth of his knowledge of the Dday events as well as history of the region. At each point he highlighted important points but also referenced little known facets. The tour was very complete considering one could spend many days covering all that is there.
