As one of Normandy’s D-Day landing beaches, Omaha Beach was the backdrop to one of the most significant events of World War II, immortalized in the movie Saving Private Ryan and forever etched into history. Today, visitors to Omaha Beach can follow in the footsteps of the Allied soldiers and pay their respects at the American Cemetery.
Wonderful day. HP was a phenomenal guide. Literally the only thing that could have improved the experience would have been if he had worn a microphone so we folks in back of van could hear. The vents on van drowned out his voice so we couldn’t hear him. He asked if we could but without a mic he would have had to talk too loudly for folks in front
The weather was awful, but Pascal stuck it out with us. He was an excellent tour guide. He is so knowledgeable, and shares with great enthusiasm. He knows what the Americans want to hear about and made the tour fit us. We got much more of a tour starting at Bayeux than if we had started s tour from Paris.
Our guide Aaron was the best. Explained D-Day and all that happened and why. We did a variety of things all of which culminated at the American Cemetery & Memorial where we watched the lowering of the flag while they played Taps. It was very moving and a great day. We highly recommend this tour.
Our tour guide was the most knowledgeable guide I’ve ever encountered. It was a fabulous tour! I would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in the history of the invasion.
Omaha Beach/D-Day. Our guide Arthur was an encyclopedia of knowledge, professional, personable, and a delight! He arrived on time and in a very comfortable air conditioned van. Even tho the tour was 4+ hours, it really wasn’t enough time for us. Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach, American Cemetery very moving, especially Taps and the Lowering of the flag was very emotional ❤️
It was one of the greatest days of my life and exceeded my expectations.
The visit to the cemetary on Omaha Beach when I cried aftr seeing the rios and rows of graves. I was very humbled that some people on the tour came to comfort me and we shared a beautiful moment together that I will never forget.
The order of sites visited during the tour was very effective and important. Our tour guide explaining the US offensive at Omaha Beach and playing of taps at American Cemetary was very meaningful. Our tour guide, Aaron's, military background and passion for World War II history. Aaron did a fabulous job sharing information to help us visualize how things happened at Omaha Beach.
