Weights restrictions of 275lbs per passenger with a total weight not to exceed 650lbs.
Weights will be take at check in with all items. If weight restirctions are exceeded, we would not be able to accomodate the tour and passengers are responsible for the full price.

A minimum of 2 seats must be purchased even if only 1 passenger wishes to travel; this is a private tour and passenger groups are not mixed
Check in is 30 minutes prior. Late check ins will be considered as a no show and subject to full price.
24 hour cancellation policy strictly enforced

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

Such a surreal experience seeing everything from that high up. Absolutely breathtaking and it gave us some ideas on what to do! Not to mention everyone involved was so friendly, it makes the whole thing that much more worth it.

Please take the time and do this tour. It's easy to get to and parking was free. The office is located right by the office, Clay checked us in and did the safety video and went over the agenda. We also had extra time to talk with him Since we were early. He is a good guy and is in training at the school to be a pilot as well. Danny was the pilot and he made us feel comfortable before we even got to helicopter, he explained everything about the machine and safety items etc. Than it was time to fly, what an experience, views of the island, water (whales), beaches etc. Absolutely stunning, please do yourself a favor and book this tour.

Matthias was a great pilot! We told him we were interested in seeing the whales and he made sure that we were able to get amazing views of all the whales in the ocean. Everyone involved was so polite and professional. Once in a lifetime experience!

This was a spectacular experience! To see the beautiful island from this vantage point should be a must for any travelers. The staff were amazing and from moment one made us feel welcome and safe. We couldn’t have asked for a more competent, engaging and knowledgeable pilot. He was a nice young man from Sweden. I highly recommend this coastal excursion experience. It was truly majestic!

Chad from Capetown was an amazing pilot and tour guide! Thoroughly enjoyed our 30 min ride with him as he pointed out all the key spots and historical significance of each area we passed over! He even walked through many of the steps on how to fly the helicopter! Super friendly and engaging conversation! Highly recommended!!!

This was the most incredible experience of my life thus far. Chad our pilot made this experience even more magical with his amazing kind and warm hearted energy. He took amazing care of us and made us feel so loved and comfortable. The views were spectacular, and the fact that he took time to inform us of some of the islands history was beautiful. I cannot wait to go back, and hope we get Chad as our pilot again.

Fantastic experience

My wife and I had been on few helicopter and plane tours of the Big Island over the past several years and were looking for something a little bit different. We opted for the personal tour, doors-off experience and loved it. My wife gets motion sickness from time to time, but she had no problem this time, as there was plenty of fresh air the entire ride. Even if this is your first helicopter tour, I’d highly recommend this experience, and the crew at Mauna Loa Helicopter Tours was really personable and professional. As always, their service and attitude made a big difference!

this was a once and a lifetime opportunity and i would do it again and next time a longer trip. our guide was the BEST! i was completely nervous and my husband was all ready and excited for this, the guide met all of our expectations and helped me stay calm, doors off trip. i love the company outlines before, how to get there and the do’s and don’t’s before and a safety brief.

Due to winds, our tour went south rather than north. We thought we were getting a 60 minute flight but our flight was only 40 minutes. Our pilot was personable and answered questions but did not point out many sights along our flight path. Disappointing.
