The crew and captain were all so accommodating and super friendly. We even spotted a whale! Must do when I’m Hawaii. We brought our 13 month old son and he loved every second of it! The crew took care of all our belongings and made us feel safe & well taken care of! We opted for the sunset cruise and even though there were clouds it was still so beautiful. Cannot recommend this experience enough!

The crew was amazing, the boat was very clean, and the drinks were great! My wife and I did this as our last night on our honeymoon and there was no better way to wrap up the trip. The trip was supposed to end at 6:00 but they kept us out on the water until 6:45 to make sure we saw the full sunset. 10/10 experience!!

Beautiful cruise out of A Bay

We loved this catamaran cruise! Captains Michael and Mike and the rest of the crew (sorry, don't remember the names) were all very personable and helpful, there to make sure everyone had a good time. Though this isn't really a dinner cruise (tough to do on a catamaran like this), we were served teriyaki chicken and rice bowls along with snacks (chips and nuts), and this was plenty. There was also plenty to drink (beer, soda, juice, a few basic cocktails) for those interested. We appreciated that this wasn't a guided cruise with a steady stream of info, and that music wasn't blasting. It was enough to be on the boat enjoying the views and the moment. That said, the crew was happy to answer questions, and they clearly like their job. We also appreciated that at the end of the cruise there was no "hard sell" regarding tipping. We did this at the end of our 1st full day in the Waikoloa area in late March. The weather was excellent for a sunset as well as viewing the island, and a stiff breeze meant good sailing. We also saw several whales, including one that breached a few times. It was late in the season for this and we know we were lucky. All in all, a beautiful and fun evening that we highly recommend, especially if you're staying in the Waikoloa area.

Beautiful Sunset Catamaran Ride

This was so fun! The crew was great – super friendly and helpful. Getting on and off the boat was totally manageable, even for the senior citizen in our group. The crew hoisted the sails for a good portion of our trip and it was lovely to sail around the bay, even without much wind. We saw a ton of whales. And getting some dinner was a nice surprise. The boat also stayed out longer than we were expecting it to, and we got to watch the entire sunset. It was super cool getting to do an activity that sets out from Waikoloa near where we’re staying rather than having to drive all the way to Kona. Overall, it was a really nice time and we’d definitely sail with Hawaii Nautical again.

Potentially good sail cut far too short

Great sunset and the experience would have been 5 star had it not been for the poor communication of the company and the trip starting 30 mins late and ending on time, cutting the “sail” portion down to just under an hour. Nice enough crew were helpful when we called to find the location, as the email we got sent us on a wild goose chase - no tree with canoe paddles on it and being routed to the Lava Lava Beach Club was confusing. Loading the boat took 2 trips from the shore, which also caused a delay. If they can get you a full 90 min sail, this would have been a great trip.

Wonderful crew…beautiful evening…. Saw a momma & baby whale.. captain followed for a bit.. crew member shared her in-depth knowledge of humpback whales.. bonus! Crew served drinks and food so we didn’t need to leave the forward deck.

Fantastic! From start to finish this was a wonderful experience. Our 3 crew members were kind and professional. We had only 13 guests on the boat so there was plenty of room. The sailing, the sunset, and the weather were perfect. We even had an engagement on board! Loved this experience and would definitely go again with this company. My only complaint is the directions to the meeting spot were not very clear. I would recommend mentioning to “go to the middle of the beach area where you will see the transit boat. Look for the check in a-frame sign.”

Overpriced rundown service

Hawaii Nautical has reached a new bottom. They overbooked the trip and loaded 2 boats amount into one catamaran. If you don’t like standing in an overcrowded bus experience don’t go with them. The catamaran is completely rundown, even toilet flush is broken. And they charge you $150 per person. This is a complete ripoff for the service they provide. If your party size is 4 or more, book a private boat the price will be the same.
