Cousin Edward was great!

For the most part, it was great. Cousin Edward was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He was very conscientious of his passengers limitations making sure he announced what the distance and terrain was. Two things to change, A/C and lunch stop. The bus was very warm and the lunch stop didn't have options for those who don't eat seafood. While we love trying local cuisine, options were not great as they were out of all non-seafood options.

Had a great driver and tour guide Kelvin. He was very knowledgeable about the area, coffee production and varying types of local fruit. We also appreciated that the sea turtles showed up for his reservation request. Wear good footwear to get to the turtles as the path is very uneven.

Poor customer service

Our driver started the tour without us even though we were waiting under the green tent for 30 minutes prior. She left thinking she had everyone and turned off her phone! We had to go through customer service to find out what happened! After paying a taxi driver 50 dollars we caught up with them at the coffee farm and missed the tour! Not enough time at the coffee farm nor turtle beach.

Aloha Cynthia, remember you booked this tour last minute. Guides turn off their phones on silent so it doesn't interrupt the tour. She failed to get the text of the last-minute booking that came in. I spoke with you and offered to fully refund or refund 50% in order for you to get a taxi and meet with the tour. The choice was yours and you chose to meet up with the tour and you were refunded 50%

The most memorable part of this excursion was getting up close and personal with the sea turtles and seeing so many of them. Even though most of the tour was in the wet, it cleared for the turtles 🐢 . Would recommend this tour and also our guide.

It was okay. Our driver/ tour operator was friendly and sweet. For her first tour she did alright, although not as knowledgeable as we would have liked for the price. Also, the best part of the tour to see the sea turtles and beach was very rushed due to poor time management. Way too much time was spent at lunch waiting on fellow passengers who ate across the street. Resulted in just a quick trip to the beach area and late arrival getting back to the port

The tour was very enjoyable until we stopped for lunch at South Kona Grindz.There were 25 in our tour group and this is the spot the tour always stops at for lunch so the place was expecting us. Some people on our tour started to get their food after 45 mins of waiting . After waiting for 1 hr 20 mins, 7 people still had not received their food, including myself and my husband. We ended up getting our money back because the tour had to continue and we were already behind in time waiting so long for our food. Then the rest of the tour had to be rushed because some of the guests had reservations to do other things in Kona. The tour definitely needs to change the lunch spot. The place had a limited menu for the tour, so it wasn't like they had to make everything on their menu. We our could choose from different styles of fish and chips and burgers. This was the first time I have taken an excursion other than from the cruise ship, and it was a real disaster for me. I know its really no Viator's fault and that's why I said I would recommend the tour, but only if you change the lunch place

I know there is so many bad reviews from this one day. 😢 We have went to this restaurant for years now and this was the first time we have ever had an issue. If we had known about them being short staffed when we called that morning we would have went to another location. This issue really threw a wrench into the itinerary and we understand customers were upset and apologize. Thank you for the 3 stars😊....the rest were 1
HORRIBLE DAY WITH C BIG ISLAND TOURS

Entire day was terrible. Shame on C Big Island Tours, Shame on restauant Kona Island Grindz no food after waiting 2+ hours fir lunch. Shame on tour guide that filled in with no knowledge of Kona. It was nice she filled in for person who called out that dat but bad tour.

Not seeing sea turtles. That was the reason for our taking the tour to begin with. We only seen small ones peeping their head out of the water occasionally. Eddie was amazing both funny and very informative.

Steve is an excellent driver and guide. The pleasant places we saw were as described and more cozy due to the smaller group size. I didn’t feel like part of a tourist cattle drive. I enjoyed the place we stopped for lunch and I felt like a local for a few hours.

Coffee and Turtles

The tour was great it was our second trip to a coffee farm this one being much smaller however they really are passionate about their product . The guide on the farm explained each process and it was really hands on. The turtles were shy that day but we did see 2. kuodos to our tour guide who parked so the trek down the beach was not that far

The driver was great. The tour was not good. The description said opportunity to snorkel and shop. There was not. The lunch was great but we had to pay for it separately. The Kona coffee was a small worn down farm.

Fantastic Tour with Steve

We had a wonderful time with Steve as our tour guide. We went a beautiful coffee plantation Bayview Farm and had a tour of how coffee is grown and processed. We were able to have tastings of their coffee. We then went to the painted church which was very near the coffee farm. Gorgeous old wooden church built in the 1800s and still used today for worship . The tour then stopped for lunch at Honaunau Poke for poke bowls and pulled pork and rice. We then went to a National Park and then down a path to see juvenile sea turtles feeding. Great trip and Kona is a beautiful city on the Big Island .

Our guide/driver Steve brought life to our excursion. The facts and information he shared made the tour interesting and entertaining. The visit to Bayview Coffee was great. The tour and delicious samples were well worth the visit. The Painted Church was charming and beautiful. The lunch stop at Grindz was wonderful. The Historic Kona Coffee stop was most interesting with the lava tube. The beach where we saw several Hawaiian Sea Turtles was the perfect end of a perfect day. Well done Steve and Viatour.

A bit of everything

This tour has a bit of everything and at a nice slow pace. Enjoyed our tour guide/bus driver who was full of jokes and local history. Small bus which made the tour more personal. That lunch! Yummy!

Great except for food.

Phil was an excellent guide. My only complaint is that I felt the lunch restaurant served me prior frozen fish. It was a different texture, color, and size from everyone else’s fish plate. It should be noted that I was the last to be served so they probably ran out of the fresh supply. I tasted others fish and it tasted much better than mine.

Turtles and coffee!

Steve was friendly and happily answered questions. We toured a coffee farm and learned about the process of making coffee. They had a gift store. Then we saw the painted church. Lunch was at a seafood restaurant with great outdoor seating. We got to walk through a lava tube at another coffee shop. Finally, we stopped at a park and got to see about 20 green turtles feeding in the shallow water. We had plentiful time and never felt rushed.
