And our guide Sonya was the best she made everything fun and would definitely recommend anyone to try out if they are visiting Bologna

The guide was very nice and informative. We had a fairly large group of people for the tour. It was a bit long and the food wasn’t very good outside of the gelato.

Perfecto! Sonia lead us through some of the most delicious streets in Bologna. She gave us some historical facts and many food facts. We loved every stop from the cheese, meats, and sparkling wine from the market that we shared at the Osteria del Sole, to the tortellini and pasta in the restaurant, to the Gelato. Come hungry! The food and wine are amazing.

Just okay, sometimes verging on awkward.

Our tour was average. We’ve been on a good deal of guided tours, and this one was just okay. The places we visited were cool and the food we sampled was tasty, but our tour guide (Sonia) wasn’t dynamic or engaging. She was difficult to hear, she didn’t make much of an attempt to engage the group and frankly she was quite awkward at times. More than once she announced to the entire group that my husband and I “didn’t pay” for our son. In fact, we booked him an infant ticket, which is the category he fell under, as he is under 2 years old. She made us feel as if we were trying to sneak him into the tour. In the future, this company may want to sell tickets for child (with food) and child (no food) to avoid this situation. We had our 4 year old with us too, and it was no big deal for them to share a plate and we even offered to pay separately for our son to have his own gelato at the end. We didn’t need our tour guide proclaiming multiple times that we “did not pay.” Awkward. She also seated our family of 4 at a separate table from the rest of the group for lunch, so whatever explanation she offered during that meal was completely lost on us. Instead we were seated with a trainee of the tour company who, at one point, told us that she believes it’s good to eat with your hands and not wash them first because that’s how you develop antibodies. Not exactly something I want to hear as I’m eating a communal meal. This tour company is probably fine for most people, but we did not find Sonia’s tour to be worth the price we paid, and we would hesitate to recommend this experience to any of our friends with kids.

Your comments regarding the ticketing system are duly noted, and we'll take this into serious consideration for future improvements. Pointing out just a detail here, as you saw on your reservation usually infants will not pay. That's due the fact that usually the food has normal portions, so first to don't have food waste or any other case with particular requirements needed. Usually the parents will share a bit of their food, as the portions (furthermore at the restaurant) is a decent size. Regarding the seating arrangements during lunch, we understand how this could have been unsettling. We assure you that your feedback has been taken into account, and we'll be reviewing our protocols to ensure a more seamless and enjoyable dining experience for all our guests. That day, must be said, as I think even you noticed, the place was quiet crowded. Easy, is a Saturday morning in the city center in one of the best restaurant, we know that and the owners as well. They arranged the table divided in two just to let the waiters be able to serve you better and to let enough space to have the kids sited in the high chair. As for the incident with the trainee's comments, we apologize for any discomfort caused. Rest assured, we are taking steps to ensure that our staff members are trained to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and etiquette, especially during meal times. We genuinely value your feedback as it helps us identify areas for improvement and enhance the overall experience for our guests. We hope that you might consider giving us another opportunity to exceed your expectations in the future. That said, we are sure that even the gelato offered to your kid was just another proof of the kind heart of Sonia; that knew, as you told her before, that in a week would be the kid birthday she wanted to "celebrate" in a way the occasion. We are sorry if any of this was considered so low, but I mainly think that was more of a two side of the story glued with a good amount of misunderstanding. Same old same old- save your money!!

Avoid Tours and City guides...This tour Bologna gastronomic experience is the same as taste of bolonga and the balonga food tour. We So on this tour it is the exact same experience as the Balogna food tour from a local perscpective- we took last year. We would NEVER sign up for the exact same tour we already took. The Bologna gastronomic experience with a local is what we signed up for and there both the same stops on the tours and should be different. Same tour from 2023 and this one. The names are different but the experience is the exact same. The guide also missed sharing the details of culuture and the tour lacked depth. Do not recomend!! I shared my dissatifaction and they did not csre about the feedback.

Fantastic experience and an excellent way to learn about the city

Alice was our tour guide and she was the best! She provided some details about the city even though this was not a historical tour guide. She explained the local foods and the different certifications/grading, we were able to try Tigelle, eat cold meats and cheeses at the oldest wine bar in Bologna with sparkling white and red wines, ate a lunch of tortellini in broth plus tagliatelle ragu plus house red, and finished the tour with gelato. We divvied up the leftover cold meets and cheeses amongst the tour group to eat later.

A great food tour that included heaps of delicious food, wine and some local history. Would definitely recommend doing this your first night in Bologna. We could only do it on our last due to New Year holidays but it is a great intro to all the best spots in Bologna. Host was excellent!

Very good overview of Bologna food options. Fede was welcoming, informative & good tour leader! Just wish we knew it was spread out over a larger area of the city. Restaurant option at end was good food but not one of the friendliest places we had been in Bologna to eat.
