What To Expect

Join a guided walk along Boston’s Freedom Trail, starting from a central location that’s well-served by public transport. The walking tour beats bus tours for up-close views of significant historical sites, such as the Massachusetts State House, Park Street Church, and Granary Burying Ground.

During the tour, your guide, dressed in period costume, offers entertaining commentary on Boston’s role in American history, and events that shaped the city, such as the Boston Massacre—stories you’d miss if walking around alone.

The tour follows a route past America's first public school, the Old South Meeting House, the Old State House, and a view of the Samuel Adams statue.

Concluding at Faneuil Hall Square, you can finish the tour in a place that’s surrounded by great eateries and landmarks, leaving you in a great position for further explorations.

Tour was fantastic and really beats walking around randomly on your own. The tour guide we had was Elena (aka Mother Goose), funny, entertaining, knowledgeable, and contagiously enthusiastic. She spoke clearly (our visitor from Italy was able to understand Elena). Would highly recommend, it was a fun experience and really got to see the best of Boston with great narration!
Amazing!

Ann_P, Apr 2024
i live in Massachusetts, and have always felt very connected to our American history, but did learn some new details relating to some of the most pivotal events in our history.
Unable to find the tour I paid for.
Laura_C, Apr 2024
There was no way to identify this tour from other operators in the same area. There was nothing marking that you were at the address since Boston Commons covers a very large area. I asked several people where 120 Tremont Street was located since this is the first time I’ve been to Boston. A street department worker told me I was at the location. I asked walking tour bender if I was in the right location and showed my ticket. He pointed me to another group down the way, and they pointed me to yet another group. That group was starting the tour and I did not have time to show my ticket. It was a wonderful tour, but at the end, I found I had joined the wrong tour and not the one I paid for. The tour company really needs to have a better way of identifying their group so out of towners like me can locate them.

Great tour
Mark_W, Apr 2024
Duo gave a great tour! He’s a true student of history with many extra interesting stories to tell. He covered the basics of the revolutionary period well and had lots of insights and additional details we hadn’t heard before.
Good
Albert_K, Apr 2024
Was good but the bells in the area ruined the experience a bit. Couldn’t hear the guide too well because of this.
This tour would have been substantially better with a different guide.
Ralph_A, Apr 2024
The guide needed much more training!!! She told me twice that John Quincy Adams was the 4th President of the USA! She also told our group that Mary Chilton was the ONLY woman on the Mayflower. These are both incorrect and wildly inaccurate!!!! I spoke with her while walking from one historical point to another and she told me she had a Masters Degree in History from Harvard. I find that very hard to believe. Her mic didn't work so hearing her was very challenging. Her hat (part of her colonial costume) did not fit properly and she was constantly having to adjust it. I found her storytelling and knowledge very limited and non-creative. She did not handle questions well. It was rather disappointing overall.

Very fun and informative tour! Was confused as it lasted 30 minutes longer than it was supposed to. If you plan accordingly, you’ll be fine!
