Great into to Budapest
Kenneth_B, May 2024
Great intro to the city, it's foods and it's wines. Endres, our guide took us through the Central Market, sampling and explaining several foods and the market itself. We then visited a local wine bar, tasting and learning about the wonderful Hungarian wines. Along the way Endres's commentary was rich with details of the area and also offered us many tips and ideas for our stay in the city. We would highly recommend this tour.

Good food, good tour! Loved every second of it!

My partner and I really love to eat and try out new foods.. so we definitely wanted to opt for something such as this.. which didn't disappoint one bit!! We were taken to various places around Budapest all the while trying out a lot of typical Hungarian meals/food/drinks.. while also getting to know the origins for those foods and some history as well! Our guide was perfect too (I apologize but I don't remember the name but she was simply the best!). Highly recommend this for any food aficionado!
Excellent Time

The knowledge a charisma of the guide Endre. The city market was gorgius. Langos was the best. Will recommend for sure.

Our guide Orshi was great. She gave us the history of the prominent foods in Budapest and great conversation. The food and wine was delicious and authentic. Nice way to spend a few hours with other foodie people from around the world.
A wonderful history of Budapest and Hungarian Wine/Cuisine!

Absolutely fabulous! Our guide and a wonderful sense of humor and his English was superb! All Four of us absolutely LOVED this activity. The food and drink choices were on point! If taking this tour in winter month, dress warm because the market, although indoors, can get a bit chilly.
Great tour!!

Excellent tour for foodies and the culturally curious

My mother and I absolutely loved this tour. Our guide, Andras, was excellent. He had a broad range of knowledge and excelled at storytelling, making this four hour tour fly by. A true gem of a guide! We tasted things we never would have tried otherwise and it opened up so much about Hungarian food and culture for us. I can confidently say this tour is not to be missed!

We do food tours all over the world in our travels. Our culinary tour with Esther in Budapest ranks up with the best. The food selections were local and tasty. Our guide was knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. The wine tasting at the end was quite informative. Esther made extra effort in providing us with dining options and directions. Highly recommend this tour.
Bring Your Appetite!

Fantastic afternoon if you’re a foodie interested in the best Budapest has to offer. Barbara was a very knowledgeable & personable host for our culinary introduction to Budapest. She was a delightful spokesperson for Hungary & kept us all on schedule as we navigated the Marketplace crowds & city. Bring your walking shoes, and eat a light breakfast because you won’t leave the tour hungry!
Wonderful Food Tour Highly Recommended

We did not eat breakfast and were looking forward to the food presentation. We were fortunate enough to be the only ones booked on the tour so just the two of us with our guide Barbara. We started in the Grand Central Market at 9:30am. The first food presented was a freshly made Lángos with garlic it was fresh and hot and just heavenly. I can still taste it! We then moved to a butcher stall with cured meats. I am not a huge fan of cure salamis but I tried them including horse. Which I was hesitant to taste but truthfully it was not bad. We walked around the market to a couple more stalls and purchased some fresh paprika and tasted lavender jelly. From the market we left to walk over to a small bar to taste a liqueur that is a digestive, named Unicom. It has a licorice flavor to it and helps if you have eaten too much or have belly aches. We then ventured to a butcher shop, now a standing lunch stop/deli to eat some more delicacies: fried cheese, Waldorf style salad, fried mushrooms and zucchini with sauce, purple cabbage salad, pickled beets, cucumbers and cauliflower, cholent and potatoes. After lunch it’s time for dessert and we tried two pastries Dobos and Kremes. Our final stop was wine tasting with cheese. We were STUFFED by the end of the tour and it was perfect. Highly recommend this and our guide Barbara was just lovely explaining the food and where we were along the way.
Great tour but expensive for what you get

Friendly and knowledgeable tour guide and excellent food and wine but price is high for what you get
Excellent Value and Experience
Jacob_W, Nov 2023
Anna was our tour guide and she was as good as they get. She gave us local insights, explained the history of the places we went, catered to our dietary needs, and threw in jokes along the way. The tour lasted about 5 hours and we experienced so much more than I could have imaged we could have in that time. I would strongly recommended this to anyone coming to Budapest.
small group, well guided, nicely paced and generous amount of food
Darina_C, Nov 2023
Great experience, small group, guide Barbara was phenomenal and fun. Don't eat breakfast before the tour because it was a lot of food ! last stop was the wine and cheese tasting late afternoon. I have done many culinary walks around the world and some can be a little mean with the food tasting but this one is very generous, in fact we were all groaning a little at the thought of having to go out to dinner that evening. It is about a five hour walking tour so wear decent walking shoes and dress for the weather.
