Excellent tour with a highly knowledgeable guide. Many sites visited and associated history discussed in detail. Covered a large area of Budapest. Would consider taking again, if I return.

Good experience but guide needs to take control of content

Obviously fact finding, history of Budapest. It was great to have a small group. However, the guide didn’t take control. He kept saying it’s up to us. We’re not the experts though. Sometimes was difficult to understand.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Andras. He is knowledgeable, genuine, and very accommodating to our interests. It’s a very comfortable 3 hour walk and learning experience so we feel to much closer to the city of Budapest. This is the kind of experience that makes us want to come back!

We were very excited to visit Budapest. And our tour with Dalma was the best way to get a terrific overview of the city, the history, the highlights and the streets. She had so much information to share and presented it in such an easy conversational manner. We can't say enough good things about the experience... except that you should try it! Ask for Dalma..... her passion and personality were a difference maker!!!!

Very disappointing

This experience will very much depend upon the guide you end up with. We fell unlucky and were very disappointed with the lack of historical knowledge of the guide, he basically walked us around , provided minimal information and couldn’t answer basic questions. It was meant to be a 3hr walk, it was over in 2.5hrs and the advertised local snack or drink that was supposed to be included was not forthcoming. Only covered Pest, didn’t go near or cover Buda. The guide showed no enthusiasm for Budapest and it just seemed an easy money making exercise for him. Have previously had great guides in other cities, so having paid a lot of money for a private guide we were left feeling very short changed and extremely disappointed. We would have covered the areas visited ourselves with a map and having our guide added no value.

Nick’s personal touch to the tour and his photography skills was top notch :) He was flexible and allowed us to tailor our needs after his input on what’s planned initially . With personal anecdotes to share along the way, it piqued our interest from beginning to end! Last but not least don’t forget to include some local delights along the way! That was an eye opener and totally necessary if you are new to the country!

It was really great getting to know Dalma and the rich understanding and knowledge that she had about every location that we visited. We just wish that we had a few minutes to make it to the bank of Danube to get a quick introduction to what we see on the hill on the Buda side.

Istavan was absolutely wonderful. Very knowledgeable and adjusted our expert to us. He was flexible in picking us up by foot at our hotel which was really nice. We learned a ton from Istavan and would highly recommend this tour. We had a day full of rain, but we didn’t let us bother us.
