If your pickup address or hotel is not listed, ask us to see if it falls within the 10km radius pickup zone. Pickup is available from most addresses within Cape Town city, Cape Town International Airport and Stellenbosch town centre. Drop off after the tour usually to the same location originally collected from.

What To Expect

Begin your day with pickup at your Cape Town hotel in a luxury minivan and head straight for the famous Paarl wine region.

Visit the Fairview Wine Estate for wine and cheese pairing session. Along with the winery’s well-known white wines, nibble on delicious cheeses.

Stop for lunch in Franschhoek, internationally famous for its gourmet dining options. Get recommendations from your private guide for where to get something to eat (own expense) from the many restaurants and cafes in the pretty town.

After your lunch break, Continue to Franschhoek with a stop at Babylonstoren wine estate for an insight into farm-to-fork organic farming and tastes of their best wines

The last stop on your tour is the Muratie wine estate, a local favorite with lots of rustic charm, where you’ll end with something sweet. At Muratie, sample dessert wine and locally-made chocolate.

Then, relax on the journey back to Cape Town, where you'll arrive in the early evening.

  • If some wines, farm or wine pairing options are unavailable during certain times of the week or season, we reserve the right to offer a similar type or value alternative.
  • *Muratie's chocolate wine pairing experience will be discontinued by April 2024, and will be replaced with a similar value of wine tasting experience.

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

The private winelands tour was excellent. Our tour guide, Liezel, shared so many cool pieces of information throughout the day and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with her. The wineries themselves were so beautiful. We loved every one of the four we visited. We were also huge fans of the fact that one included a cheese pairing with its tasing, while another included a chocolate pairing. We'd recommend to anyone visiting Cape Town - the experience is a must. We were sad to leave when our trip was over, but were happy to be bringing back a few bottles of excellent wine. Thanks for a wonderful day, Liezel!

Amazing driver GG. So knowledgeable and friendly. Winery stops were beautiful and informative. We would recommend this tour to families in a heartbeat.
Special Day in the Winelands

Our guide was great, very positive about South Africa and knowledgeable about wine. We were very delayed due to an accident on the motorway and didn’t get to do all the wine farms on the schedule, but Paul made it a special day nonetheless. Lots of lovely wines, a diversion to Plaisir highly recommended.
Exceptional Wine Tour...

This day trip to the Stellenbosch region was fabulous. Started at the Fairview Wine Estate where wines were paired with cheese. Delicious! Franschhoek Town was next where we walked the town filled with wine stores, art galleries, boutiques and restaurants. Pretty town and so many options for lunch. Took the Wine Tram (great idea so you could go from one winery to the next without driving)! We stopped at the Rickety Bridge Farm...so much fun to try so many wines. This Winery was started by Paulina De Villiers in 1797. Last stop was the rustic wine farm of Muratie. Dessert wines paired with chocolate. Unbelievable experience, with an exceptional tour guide for the day! Highly suggest this private guided tour.

Our guide Gerhardus Pretorius was an enchanting, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We had a wonderful experience visiting Fairview and thoroughly enjoyed its Master Tasting. We then got a delightful taste of Franschhoek. Afterwards we visited Babylonstoren Gardens where we indulged in a delightful Chardonnay/MCC Tasting and a couple of delicious platters for lunch. Our final stop was Muratie for a Chocolate & Wine Tasting. We loved the setting, wines, and the chocolates. A ride through Stellenbosch revealed a lovely university town. We highly recommend this tour and our guide Gerhardus Pretorius.

Our tour of the Winelands was excellent. Each of the three farms we visited was unique and treated us to delicious wine with cheese or chocolate pairings. The scenery along the way was beautiful.

This is a wonderful tour. Our guide, the big G, was really knowledgeable and very kind to our young son. The master tasting at Fairview was incredible, we could have stayed there all day, and the wine and chocolate pairing at Muratie was a lovely way to end the day. We would definitely do this tour again.

Jacobus our guide was very knowledgable and took us to some really interesting winery’s. Although a long day it proved to be very well worth while and we were pleased to concentrate on the tastings and pairings rather than spending lots of time looking at barrels of wine sitting in different cellars. Definitely a 5 star trip.

Wonderful wine tour

JP was a superb tour guide with excellent insights into the wines as well as deep history of the area. He picked us up on time in a shiny new van and expertly drove us to our destinations, which Clare had carefully adjusted to our requests in advance. He kept us on schedule without pressure and returned us safely home at the end of a wonderful day. We highly recommend this tour company when visiting Cape Town.

We were 4 adults on a private full day tour. Our driver was very knowledgeable about all things South Africa and the 4 wineries he selected were beautiful and very different. We loved them all. His lunch suggestion in Franschhoek was great too. It’s a fantastic day and definitely worth choosing a PRIVATE tour.
