Viking history in Dublin

The knowledge we received on this tour was fantastic. Our guide Bram was dressed in authentic garb and carried replica gear and wearing realistic war paint. He fully explained the Viking history of Dublin. We were the hit of Dublin and am sure we are part of many peoples photos. The tour was very educational as well as entertaining. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

We had an absolute blast on this tour! It was very intimate, and Bren was our tour guide. He was dressed in full Viking gear, which was a lot of fun! He was very knowledgeable about the history, and every building that we passed. He pointed things out that we would never have known to look at. He also answered questions we had about Ireland in general. He recommended a wonderful place for dinner and we quite enjoyed it, we highly recommend this walking tour!

This was a fun and very informative walk around medieval Dublin. Our Viking guide was a great storyteller and historian. He did a great job with descriptions and context. It was awesome!

Bren Mor was a fantastic tour guide! He took me through Dublin's Medieval Quarter and had given me a private tour, essentially. When tourists wanted photographs with him, he was gracious and answered questions they had! Bren has also starred in well-known programs, including a documentary on Viking culture. He was an authority on the Viking conquests in Ireland and shared nuanced points. After the tour, he spent an hour with me in a pub, answering additional questions on Irish culture. He then allowed me to wear part of his uniform and to have memorable photographs, celebrating my journey! I highly-recommend the tour with Bren!

What a wonderful walking tour with Bren (the Viking!) yesterday. As we strolled around the historic district, his detailed and fact-filled stories brought Dublin’s history to life. Through his expressive and colorful descriptions, I could easily imagine how and where the Vikings conquered and settled the Dublin area, who preceded them, and who came after. Not only that, but his narrative brought in other events and places all over Ireland to make the presentation complete. A wonderful tour to wrap up and tie the pieces of my grand Irish tour together. Highly recommend!!! Thank you Bren! It was a truly a pleasure to be hosted by such an informative and personable Viking!

We went on this tour with Bren recently and it was awesome! We learned all about Viking history and landmarks in Dublin. Bren was excellent, extremely passionate, and knowledgeable about Viking history. All of the attire and props he wore/had were from the show Vikings of Valhalla, which he was an extra in. We thought that was also pretty cool. If you're into Viking history, this tour is 100% worth it. He showed us a tavern at the end of the tour which has been around since the 1700s and we had an amazing lunch at a place we wouldn't have noticed, known about or considered going to if it wasn't for Bren. It was some of the best food we had during our stay. We absolutely recommend going on this tour as it was the highlight of our trip!

Highlight of my entire stay in Dublin - MUST DO if you have even the slightest interest in Vikings and Medieval History!

This was my first time in Dublin and WOW, the Viking Legacy Tour led by Bren was the highlight of the entire trip. The tour itself was fun, I learned a lot and the sites we visited were amazing from beautiful buildings to all the small details that were pointed out along the way. It was helpful having also spent time a few days earlier with the Viking Hall at the National Museum of Ireland - Archaeology, but I'm sure the tour would have been just as grand if I hadn't done this. Bren showed up exactly on time, dressed to full gear. And I must say, he is wonderful. He has an incredible depth of knowledge about everything from Vikings to Medieval Ireland to random Irish history. It was also pretty cool that he even played a Viking on the Netflix show. And above all, as I learned from spending time with him on the tour, he really is a wonderful person with a genuine heart that embodies the Irish love of storytelling to its finest. I honestly cannot say one negative thing about the entire experience... perhaps just that my pictures with Bren didn't turn out as good as I had hoped for! ...next time!

Bren is a lovely fellow and incredibly knowledgeable about Vikings in Dublin and Irish history in general. He also made us feel that he values his clients and their own stories. He personalises the tour and draws you into an all encompassing experience. The tour finished in an old pub where we had a great cuppa with him. I would highly recommend this tour with Bren - definitely the highlight of our Dublin trip.

This is a must do for anyone who comes to Dublin! Our guide Bren went above and beyond.. showing us around the Medieval Quarter, going into depths about Irelands Viking roots, whilst having great craic along the way! Even a storm couldn’t stop this man. His authentic Viking gear really adds to the experience, whether you’re into them or not! Dublins history is so vast and rich, but you’d be a fool not to delve into its Viking roots, especially with Bren.. Cheers Bren From Owen and Martha
