Tours meet at the Tourist Information Police Box, outside of 300 Lawnmarket. This is across the road from the Deacon Brodie’s Tavern. Please be there at least 5-10 minutes early as we depart promptly at the tour time. Tours can not wait for latecomers so please do not be late.

Vaults are accessed via a 2ft stair with further average size stairs inside the vaults.

Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be turned away.
Filming or live streaming of the tour is strictly forbidden. You may be ejected from the tour.

• Children under 2 years of age not allowed on tour.
The walking pace and terrain may not be suitable for those with any difficulty walking.

Great Stories & Spooky Vaults

I booked this tour because I really wanted to see the vaults I have heard so many stories about, but I was pleasantly surprised by the great stories told in the graveyard as well. Our tour guide, was funny and played into the spooky nature of the tour just enough. The entrance to the vaults is a little disconcerting, but well worth getting to explore the hidden history of Edinburgh. I would recommend this tour to someone interested in the dark history of a complex city.

Ally did a wonderful job with the tour. We experienced hair pulling, cold payches, white mists and even camera malfunctions (wohldnt take photos and batteries drained.) it was an amazing time and an experience we'll never forget!! Thank you so much for the opportunity to tour the Vaults! 💀

I did this tour with 3 friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Jordan the guide was very informative, friendly and made sure everyone was ok and keeping up. The gale force winds through the trees added to the atmospherics! Good value for money and I would recommend this tour.

Stewart, our guide, was very knowledgeable on his history and had a good sense of humour. The graveyard tour was excellent and finding out some of the grave names are used in Harry Potter was fun.
