Joe was a fantastic tour guide who showed us through the Cu Chi Tunnels and provided us with some history behind the Vietnam conflict. He answered all of our questions and even told us a few stories about his friends, family and the Vietnamese. We got to try a traditional Vietnamese lunch and then headed to the Mekong Delta where we got to take a boat across the river to try some local honey and also coconut candy. The last part of the day we got serenaded with some Vietnamese music and singing, followed by a tranquil boat ride down the canals of the Mekong Delta. If you’re looking for a fun filled day, this is a great way to spend it.

Do cu chi not the half day delta

The cu chi tunnels, were awesome. But the delta experience was just being taken to different shops and shown nothing of the area. Everyone that was jusy having a bad time working. My tour guide, lovelly though, the food aweesome. Just the delta trip is not worth it

The Cu Chi Tunnels were fantastic! Lots of great insight into how creative and innovative the Vietnamese were during to war. Shooting range was a nice added extra to what was already a great tour. The Mekong tour was nice with a nice boat ride through one of the small rivers.

Cu Chi Tunnels & Meko Trip to avoid

The visit to the Cu Chi tunnels was rushed and we did not visit the kitchen, sleeping area, meeting area of the tunnels. All we got to do was crawl through a small length of tunnel and ushered quickly to the firing range. The propoganda film at the end was dated, couldn't hear it, detracted from the purpose of the visit and was far too long - I would rather have visited parts of the tunnels that were omitted from our tour. The afternoon trip to the Delat was too long each way in the cramped minibus for such a short excursion. The excursion was simply for a short boat ride and then visiting local shops to part with our money. The minibus driver was terrible; selecting the wrong gears, braking late and innertaking the traffic in the hard shoulder. This was far from a "luxury" tour - we all felt it was a day wasted and would have like to have learnt more at the Cu Chi tunnels.

Nice trip worth going

The trip itself was interesing; defenitly worth going. Our guide spoke very poor english so was a bit hard to understand. We had several trips in Vietnam and drivers were all “special”, but this drive was really uncomfortable and frightening from time to time

Our guide Duc was excellent, good sense of humour with perfect English and great knowledge. The day ran smoothly with comfortable AC bus for group of 11 people. We booked the day before and were picked up and dropped at our hotel. They catered to vegetarian. Tips are pushed in the Mekong Delta area

the tunnel part was good however the mekong part not so good. Too much focus on buying things and stopping for drinks of tea. Not that cultural wouldnt do it again.

Great experience in Vietnam

Picked up at the specified time, right outside our hotel, by our fabulous tour guide Alun (female) in a very comfortable and spotlessly clean minivan. Comfort break after about 40mins with rather ‘rustic’ toilets but fresh juices etc available and encouraged to buy souvenirs from an initiative set up to help disabled Vietnamese. A further 20-30 minute drive then it was thrilling to see and actually go down into the tiny Cu Chi tunnels we had only heard of in TV documentaries. Alun led our small group of 9 people on a tour of this extremely atmospheric and impactful place and gave us loads of unbiased information to make it even more interesting and enjoyable. Comfort break half way through with much needed refreshments available. The only downside was how busy it was with all us pesky tourists! - but still well worth a visit. After a further 10-15 minute drive we spent about 30mins at a lovely, large restaurant, with lots of other tourist groups from the same company coming and going, where a very tasty lunch was waiting for us at our own group table. Dietary needs were all arranged in advance and catered for. Available toilets are quite clean but as in most public areas- remember to take your own toilet paper/ tissues as none available! The rather long 2hr drive to the boat at the Mekong Delta gave most the time to sleep off lunch! At the river we had numerous stop offs on the riverboat to see how families live and make a living by the river, try various products made from honey and from coconuts, and my favourite, a 2km paddle boat ride along a narrow stretch of river beside the mangroves. It’s all interesting to see but remember to take plenty local currency as frequent tipping and buying of produce is heavily encouraged. We fully appreciate and support the tour company’s attempt to help the local communities but our guy paddling the boat repeatedly asking for money from half way down the river, made us feel quite uncomfortable. The tour was great and very informative and Alex was great giving us information and joking around. I will say I would’ve loved for the information less political, for a reason it’s always said not discuss religion or political views. Besides that everything was great, we had a flat tire on our way to the Mekong Delta but was all taken care of by our driver and Alex. Great job Alex!!

Koha/ Mr.Fa is the best tour guide! Super knowledgeable and entertaining. We got to learn so much of vietnamese history in such a short span of time. He explained how vietnam became as large as it is today starting back in 1600s , the popularity of the sur name nuguyen , and made traveling the tunnels and touring the delta an absolute breeze 11/10 would book again 😁

Thoroughly enjoyed the diverse nature of trip. Harry was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable and made sure everyone was clear on program. Don’t do tunnels if small dark places not your thing. Managed to hold a python - not a fan - but joined in all the many options given. Long day as two hours from tunnels to Makong Delta (dirty!!) but felt it was well worth it. It was a small private tour, great van, safe driver allowed the ability to chat to fellow travelers but importantly learn about the history and culture.
