This tour was fantastic! A short tour that really showcases the wildlife that Tasmania has to offer. The Bonorong Wildlife park was a huge hit, and it was great to see the Devils and feed Kangaroos. Richmond was a quaint town and a good break just to walk around and learn more about Tasmanian history.

A Wonderful Afternoon
Rachel_P, Apr 2024
Booked last minute the morning of and so happy we did! It was a lovely afternoon with a very knowledgeable tour guide. The sanctuary is a wonderful place to visit and a great way to get up close with wildlife in an ethical way. The care these wonderful people show to the animals and their well-being is heartwarming. Thanks for a great afternoon!
Outstanding

Hand feeding the kangaroos was amazing ! The rangers were so knowledgeable and friendly. Wish we had a bit longer there.
Must do if you are short on time

Lovely seeing the small quaint village of Richmond, the gaol and the oldest bridge in Australia. Bonorong caters to injured native animals, fed the kangaroos and lorikeets by hand. Phil, the driver was full of information and stories and kept all regaled with his wit.
Tassie wildlife

Fun to mingle with the kangaroos Should realize that there are no koalas (as pictured) in Tasmania. Also beware the viator emails since they gave inaccurate information about the pickup location.
Loved interacting with kangaroos

Tour was great. Loved visiting the quaint town of Richmond. Enjoyed interacting with the Kangaroos and learning about the Wombats and Tassie Devils at Bonorong.

Interesting experience getting close up to the animals the staff were enthusiastic and you tell they loved their jobs and the animals
Great half day tour!
Mikao_B, Jan 2024
Full day tour is often tiring so I was happy to find a half day tour for Richmond and Bonorong! I loved scallop pie and vanilla slice the driver recommended while we were in Richmond. Visiting Bonorong was exactly what I hoped for. I was able to feed Kangaroos and see the Devil and Wombat. It was a lot better experience than similar sanctuary in Melbourne. I feel I could spend another 30 min longer for each location to explore further but no complaints. I recommend this tour!
Sad conditions, not worth the money.
Nadine_S, Jan 2024
I was surprised to see how dirty the wildlife park was. The conditions where the animals roamed was full of animal poop. Walkways didn’t have clear smooth paths. After visiting the animal sanctuary in Melbourne this was a disappointment. The town of Richmond was just ok. Our driver did say she only had a few free passes to the woman’s jail, but maybe you can ask for a discount. Since I was in the back of the bus, free tickets were not available.
Not enthusiastic tour
Ivo_R, Dec 2023
The visit to Richmond was OK but the Bonorong parks is like a zoo - small space with too many animals. The most interesting thing was the show of the trained animals. The best attraction of the tour was the guide/driver Damon with his professionality and nice sense of humour.
Angels and devils

Barry our driver was friendly and helpful with local knowledge. The trip to Richmond was lovely town, I'd highly recommend visiting the pooseum (a museum about animal poo) was fascinating. Bonorong wildlife sanctuary was great, the staff were welcoming and passionate about conservation. The Tassie devils were adorable too. I'd recommend this tour as was a small group and offered hotel pick up and drop off.
Fun and good value.

Guide was very friendly and funny. Really enjoyed both spots. Enough time in both places and the animals were great!
Love the animals
Allen_S, Jun 2023
The visit to the Animal Sanctuary was too short and to Richmond too long. In Richmond there is nothing to do besides the jail and the bridge and in the Sanctuary we needed more time

Interacting with the kangaroos was an unexpected treat. Learning about wombats and "Devils" expanded understanding of how these animals live in their respective habitats.
Trip is good experience

It’s great trip to visit Bonorong but Richmond is a bit disappointed as not very much too see except the Bridge
Great afternoon!
Helen_A, May 2023
Best afternoon. Richmond was wondering and our driver told us all the places of interest so we knew where to go. Bonorong was beautiful. Worth a visit. Bus was so comfortable and our driver was very entertaining.

Hi Helen, Thanks for taking the time to review us. Your feedback is much appreciated, thank you!
Interesting Park but no Kuala’s even though they are in the photo.
Mitch_M, Apr 2023
We really enjoyed the Bonorong Wildlife Park. It was great to see the animals. The reason that this tour is not a 5* is because I was expecting Kuala Bears based on the photo. The park does not currently have any Kuala’s. The afternoon tour of Richmond is basically a shopping stop. I would have had more time to spend at the wildlife park.
