Overall the safari experience was wonderful. The lodging and the guides were very accommodating and made sure we were well looked after. We saw all of the Big 5 thanks to our great guide. Thank you to the whole staff. The downside of the experience was the lack of communication with the tour organizer - we reached out multiple times before our trip for information and were only given details the day we flew to Africa. Also note that transport is NOT private and in a shared shuttle bus. This was a surprise to us, especially with the cost of the trip.

A little overpriced

I expected slightly nicer lodgings especially for the price. Power went out after a storm so we had no power for most of our stay. The food was mediocre although the staff was super sweet. We had to be up in the wee hours for our trek, would have been nice to have some juice/coffee to start our day. Our safari was sun though and your guide was amazing. He navigated us through an intense and spontaneous hail storm. All in all was great but not sure I would recommend to friends

Solo safari to South Africa? Yes please! I loved this experience and felt like the entire staff and tour team were so kind and warm. It was very noticeable and I appreciated the way everyone greeted us and wanted to ensure we had a good experience. The food prepared for lunch, dinner and breakfast was delicious. Dinner was set up under the stars at the lodge where we stayed which was magical. I really appreciated the attention given to the presentation of the food and the overall balance of healthy options. My room was incredible. It was clean, the AC worked great, the bedding was so comfortable (mattress and linens were excellent) and the shower was wonderful. I also appreciated the mosquito netting to add an extra layer of safety during the night from any bugs. The pool and overall lodge layout was really nice and you could tell the grounds were well kept. I bring your bathing suit if you wanna take a dip. The safari experience itself was unreal. Like any national park or outdoor experience, it’s unique and based on nature. I would go back in a heartbeat and was so grateful for the amount of wildlife we saw both at sunset and sunrise. The driver was knowledgeable and the experience overall was great. I really appreciated that we drove in different places in the park in order to optimize the chances of seeing new animals. A big shoutout to Sbu, the driver who took us safely to and from Johannesburg! He was delightful, made a great call to take a backroad when there was an accident, and was enthusiastic about doing a good job for us. I really enjoyed talking with him on the way to the lodge on the first day and loved the background he shared on the country. Highly recommend this tour group and truly enjoyed my experience.

Perfect 2-day safari from Joburg

My Sunset drive in Marlothpark let me see all my favourites giraffes, zebras and other animals I didn't know before in a touchable distance in 2 hours. Next day there was 5 hour safari in Kruger. My guide Obery was knowledgeable and very accommodating. All staff and transfer drivers from Balanta and Kholiwe are warm and welcoming. It was a great trip all around.

This was an incredible experience! Excellent communication and it exceeded my expectations. Pick-up was always on time and Ernest was a safe, friendly driver who was happy to answer our questions about SA during the journey. Our guide, Becky was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, funny and a real pleasure to be around. We saw such a variety of animals, largely down to Becky’s eye and understanding of their behaviour. We went to different local restaurants for our meal, all with plenty of options which was included in what we’d paid. Never had a bad meal. Our accommodation was what surprised us the most - beautiful decor with everything we needed in our room and beyond (e.g 4-poster bed, bath) for a comfortable, good night’s sleep. Bring enough water with you for the journey from Jo’Burg…there was plenty provided after that.

Highlight of our Trip to South Africa - Balanta Imagine Safaris is the Way to Go!

One of the highlights of our trip to South Africa! We drove the Garden Route and only had a short time left for a safari. I was worried that we wouldn't have enough time, but we had so many animal sightings, it was such a memorable experience. So glad we did this and very glad we chose Balanta Imagine Safaris as our tour operator. They are an A+ company! We were picked up promptly at our hotel in Johannesburg, then drove to Kruger where we were met by Becky, our guide. Becky was fabulous and kept in touch with other guides to make sure we were right there for any animal sightings. As soon as we started our safari, Becky got word of a leopard sighting. He drove us there and sure enough, there was a leopard snoozing in a tree! And so it went throughout the day, until one by one, we saw the Big Five - leopard, cape buffalo, rhino, lions, and elephants - and so much more. Understand that Balanta Imagine Safaris can't guarantee that you'll see the Big Five, but they really do try their best to make it happen. At the end of the first day, we settled into a clean and comfortable cottage with our very own cook who made a delicious and filling dinner, and had a nice swimming pool all to ourselves. The next morning, we enjoyed another safari drive and saw so many animals, including a lioness attempting to make a kill on a group of wart hogs (she didn't get one), before the drive back to Johannesburg. Again, one of our best experiences in South Africa. Don't hesitate to book with this tour with Balanta Imagine Safaris, you won't be disappointed!

Unforgettable experience in Krueger National Park

We had one weekend in between our business trip to see a bit of South Africa’s stunning nature and decided to go to Kruger National Park. The organization of the trip was perfect and our guides were very welcoming and taught us many interesting facts about South Africa’s animal world and Krüger National Park! We were able to spot numerous animals, including leopards, elephants and zebras in only two days (thanks to our experienced guides) which made this an unforgettable experience!

We just came back from our 2 days (1 night) Kruger tour, and we loved it!! On our first day (the afternoon drive) we did ot have much luck, and we where a bit disapointed, but the next morning was amazing! Good and safe driver, friendly and knowledgable guide, comfortable car, nice accomodation, good food... will highly reccomend this tour, it was worth every penny! We saw 4 of the big 5, and a whole bunch of other cool animals. Once in a lifetime experience!

Excellents conseils de notre ranger lors du safari où nous avons pu voir tous les animaux que nous espérions, y compris les plus rares. Un super lodge très confortable et propre. Nous étions 5 ce qui nous a permis de profiter à fond. A refaire!
