It was my first trip to Johannesburg and I wanted to visit the "tourist" spots. I researched online and found this tour and it sounded perfect. Imagine my joy when my guide showed up and I learned it was a solo tour. The guide was courtesy and very patient with me. I was visiting from the states and often unable to understand what people say. He had no problem repeating himself. As we went on the tour, if I asked questions about other sites, he politely responded. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone else.

Excellent tour of Johannesburg and Soweto with a very knowledgeable guide, Nic. Constitution Hill and the prison were a real eye-opener for past and current events. The Apartheid museum was exceptionally well done. Highly recommended.
Great Apartheid & Soweto Tour

Emmah was the bestttt tour guide hands down!! She was very kind, patient, friendly and knowledgeable. Such an informative tour of Soweto, Apartheid and both past & present of South Africa. I would definitely recommend this tour and guide to fellow travelers. Emmah made us feel very welcome and at ease as if we knew her for years!

Emmah was an amazing and personable guide. Highly recommend this tour to see important historical Joberg sights if you’re short on time. Easy, safe, great experience.
A good introduction to Johannesburg & area
Martin_K, Mar 2020
A really good introduction to Johannesburg and its beginnings following the discovery of gold, followed by Soweto and how it came to prominence during apartheid. The Nelson Mandela house is fascinating, (a bit touristy, though - you're besieged by hawkers as soon as the vehicle comes to a stop!). The Apartheid Museum is a must-see. Did those whites actually believe they were doing right?
A good overview of Jo'burg
Peter_F, Nov 2019
Nick was a great guide, who constantly was a fount of local knowledge and much experience. First off a drive through of dangerous Downtown Jo'burg, which was great as you always felt safe. Then to the 2010 World Cup Stadium, for a look outside. This was followed by an extensive visit to the Apartheid Museum, which was stunning, with Nick giving us plenty of time to see. Then onto a lunch in Soweto of a local buffet, with looks at Desmond Tutu's house and Nelson Mandela's house. Nick was such a good guide and very attentive to his clients. Great tour!
Johannesburg Soweto Apartheid Museum Day Tour
707judew, Oct 2019
Firstly our guide Nick was excellent, he had live in Johannesburg most of his life and new everything about the city and surrounding areas, the tour of the main city was excellent and he pointed out areas with some detail on the history of how life used to be and what life is like now. Nick also took the time to guide us into the museum explaining the entrance and what we should expect. Nick also took us around a number of different areas in Soweto explaining the culture of each one & how they have changed over the years, we also stopped for lunch in Soweto which was amazing. One of the best guides we've had on a trip and one of the most insightful and though provoking tours we've done. If you are visiting Johannesburg we would highly recommend you take the time to go on this tour.

An awesome introduction to the city!
John_P, Sep 2019
When I arrived in Johannesburg on my solo trip, I didn’t think I’d be able to explore the city properly on my own. However this tour served as an intriguing introduction to the city and the attractions that make it notable. If it’s your first time in the city, I would recommend this tour to get you out and about!
Great Way to See the Highlights of Jo'burg
Eric_P, Jul 2019
This tour was a fantastic way to see the top sights of Johannesburg if you have a limited amount of time in the city, if you aren't sure what to see, or if you want to get a good overview of the city. The Apartheid Museum was amazing- historic, informative, moving, powerful. Visiting Nelson and Winnie Mandela's house was great- that from so humble a home could rise such strength and leadership.
Educational
Joe_O, May 2019
Our guide was really good in highlighting the history of the country and was quite passionate about his own experience growing up there. Sad to see how people are still living like they are in Soweto. The only down side of the trip was the food when we stopped of for something to eat considering the price we paid for the tour. On the plus side, it was just us with a personal guide.
Very insightful day trip of johannesburg

I would definitely recommend this tour to others; the vehicle was comfortable and the tour guide was energetic
Great tour!

Our guide and driver were great!! They shared great information regarding the Apartheid movement. I would definitely recommend them for future tours!
Amazing and informative!
Karen_T, Jan 2019
This tour was excellent! It provided us with information about Johannesburg and Soweto that we would not have received from a "travel book." The visit to Nelson Mandela's home was moving. And, I found the honorary degree that my university presented to President Mandela. So proud to see Kentucky State University as a part of the tour! The end a the Apartheid Museum was impactful and emotional. Sylvan, our guide was amazing!
A NICE AND FULL DAY TOUR!
Keith J, Jan 2019
My guide was very good at pointing things out. The tour included myself and another couple so we were able to have small conversations over the sites seen.
