What To Expect

Arrive at The Milestone Hotel, located on Kensington Court in London, for your traditional high tea. Admire its impressive exterior and elegant lobby; the building dates back to 1689 and was once home to barons and ambassadors.

In the dining room, have a seat and prepare to be pampered by the excellent service during this quintessentially English tradition. The tea service is a balance of sweet and savory, including French pastries, plain and sweet scones, and three tiers of sandwiches. This spread is accompanied by Devonshire clotted cream and homemade preserves, as well as a selection of pastries including tartlets, cupcakes, and macaroons. Choose from the vast tea menu, including a selection of exclusive single estate teas. See Itinerary section for a sample list of finger sandwiches.

Traditionally, afternoon tea at the Milestone Hotel is adults only, so there is a special Little Prince and Princess Afternoon Tea menu for their younger guests, complete with a delicious milkshake.

This was a poor place. The food was not fresh; the seats and room were tiny. The service was fine but I would not go here again.

5 Stars for The Milestone, 1 Star for Viator

The Milestone does a lovely Afternoon tea, among the best we’ve had in all our years coming/living in London. The setting, staff, tea selection and food were excellent. There was one notable unpleasant note created by Viator exclusively. Out of the blue, half way through tea, both the Milestone and I received notification that our tea was canceled. It was a mistake on Viator’s part when in fact I had successfully canceled a previous tea reservation at the Milestone which had been inexplicably booked for a nonexistent time slot. I had then rebooked and received confirmation for our preferred time. Viator seems to have remained confused. In summation, we were impressed by the Milestone and not at all by Viator.

Cousins’ Tea in Kensington

The atmosphere and service was impeccable. This was a birthday present for my cousin and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We loved the presentation of sandwiches, desserts, and tea. The staff were friendly and brought our scones after we finished our sandwiches so we could enjoy them while they were warm. Overall, I would recommend this activity to anyone looking to spend an easy and quality afternoon with whomever they invite.

We experienced this afternoon tea in December 2022. The hotel is gorgeously decorated and conveniently located. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar. The staff was very friendly. The tea service was wonderful, but honestly way too much food. Because of the way the booking was set up, I booked two 2 person tea services for my party of 5. When we arrived, we told them our situation and they were able to seat us together. We were served 2 of the tea trays and there was no way we could have finished one full tray between the 5 of us. So it felt like a waste, but it was such an amazing experience.

Mother and Daughter Tea in London

The tea was absolutely lovely. My daughter and I had champagne, different teas to choose from, and a sampling of tasty treats and sandwiches. The staff were all wonderful and attentive to our every need. The atmosphere made you feel like you went back in time and were dining with royalty. I would highly recommend this high tea and treats! Make sure you ask about the history of the hotel.

Not accessible and will not refund

It’s says it’s wheelchair accessible but it isn’t, and now they won’t give a refund even though it was impossible for us to get into the building. They ruined our afternoon with the false advertisement of the accessibility and then stole $300 as a thank you.

Nice experience but it...

Nice experience but it was a 10-minute hassle with requiring a printed voucher…. Iatrogenic needs to make the process more seamless; other wise it is easier going directly through the hotel!

Great place, don't order through viator though.

Didn't get the full experience as the hotel didn't get our reservation. They did the best they could in the circumstances by offering us to have the afternoon tea in the conservatory or two hours later. They were very gracious about it, but it just wasn't the same. Food was delicious though. Top notch!

The hotel is beautiful ...

The hotel is beautiful and the staff could not be more accommodating. However by booking through this website, they did not tell Hotel Milestone we were coming and we could not sit to High tea. Thankfully we would still be in London a few days and the hotel was able to give us a new reservation. I would highly recommend High tea at Hotel Miletsone, but don’t book through Viator.

Lovely experience at the Milestone would recommend!

The Milestone hotel has a really lovely setting with big comfy chairs. I felt very looked after. The afternoon tea prices are a little expensive but very worth it. I felt that the experience could have improved. If Viator had been more transparent with their partners by sharing my details along it would make the experience a whole lot better. To have such a lovely experience only to have it spoilt by having to faff around to locate my voucher so that it could be emailed to the hotel reception was a shame. The Manager was very understanding and very patient. Ultimately, I would expect more from Viator. It would be much more helpful if Viator had solve this initially by being transparent.
