This was our first time visiting Marrakech and we were looking to experience making traditional foods and for someone to help us understand the city and culture. Najle accomplished this. We had a hands on experience making ceremonial dishes and learned a lot about the city and culture. I would highly recommend this experience. We were welcomed into Najle's home and treated like friends. She is extremely friendly, curious and versatile. She allowed us select what we wanted to make from a variety of traditional dishes and was accommodating to all our needs. We chose to make lamb which i would recommend. I typically look for extremely interactive cooking classes and I would say this was one of them. Everyone (7 people) was able to interact with each dish and no one was left out from participating. We were asked to meet very close to her house and shopped at a small local grocer on the same street for our ingredients. I was expecting to shop for the ingredients through the Souks, but as we came to learn it is illegal for a Moroccan citizen to walk you through the Souks without a tourist license. The trip to the small market was sufficient and i was impressed that she explained what to look for in each different type of produce. We then made our way to her home where her sister thoroughly cleaned all of the produce and prepared our assembly area while we were able to ask questions and learn about Marrakech. During this time we were able to ask many questions about the city, culture and lifestyle there and she was also very interested in our cultures and lifestyles. This is also when we learned about and enjoyed both mint and green tea, as she explained how locals prepare and adjust the caffeine levels to the tea. She also provided us with local cookies. The cooking aspect was wonderful. She is a professionally trained chef and had tons of tricks and tips on how the locals cook as well as how professional chefs cook. We even had a professional baker with us and between the two of them we all learned many things about making bread, pastries and exotic dishes. Once we chopped and mixed the ingredients they were put into the pressure cooker and we continued to cook the cold dishes. We were also taken to a local bakery to see how locals prepare their daily bread and the specific system used for this type of culture. Once we picked up our freshly baked bread and our dishes were finished cooking, we sat down to enjoy our delicious meal.

    Delightful morning to treasure
    Irina_B, May 2024
What a wonderful morning to treasure. Thank you Najla for sharing so much useful, practical information with us and for introducing fascinating Moroccan culture over the pot of mint ( green) tea. We were a group of 12 friends. Some love cooking but others were just there to participate. We all found this session a real fun. The food we have cooked together was so delicious. One of the best activities we did in Marrakech.
Great Cooking Class in a Lovely Home

Coooking with Najla was such a joy. This young woman has a lot of energy and positivity and made the class fun and very informative. We made about 5 or 6 different dishes, a mix of tagines, vegan dishes and sides. Everything was delicious and I learned a lot from her. Would definitely come back to do this experience again when I’m in Marrakesh!
    Authentic moroccan cooking

Great fun. Going down to the market was cool, and Najla is a very entertaining host. Nice mix of Moroccan foods. My only comment is that because a group of us made a big meal for everyone to share, each person only does a small amount eg mix meatballs, chop vegetables - so unless you pay attention you won't learn everything- but we receive the recipes after too :)
Exciting cooking class in a warm atmosphere

It was one of my Highlights during my Trip to Marrakech. Najla is very welcoming and gave us beside the insides of the Moroccan cuisine tips for places to buy fresh spices and ceramics. I really reccomend her class.
Well worth doing - a highlight of a trip to Morocco!

We had so much fun doing this class! Naijla is lovely and clearly knows a lot about what she is doing. She made the hours fly by and the food we made was absolutely incredible. She also gave us tips and recommendations for the rest of our time in Marrakech!
    So nice!

Najla was super nice and made our experience incredible! 100% recommended. Will make her recipes at home for sure
    Fun cooking

She was fun, knowledgeable and explained why we did things. The market was close so we did not waste time walking a long way. The food was all delicious and everyone participated in making the meal instead of everyone making their own.
    Great experience of home cooking

I loved the cooking clas with Najila. She has a great ability in the kitchen and is funny, warm and engaging. We were late as got lost and Najila helped by talking to the taxi driver and telling him where to go. I really enjoyed the shopping trip to the local shops for truly fresh ingredients including chicken that was delivered live to the butcher shop! The cooking took place in Najila's beautiful home and with all hands on deck we prepared two main dishes and a variety of sides. Everything was delicious. Thank you Najila for a lovely and interedting morning.
    Must not miss this class!

Najla was a welcoming dream! We started with steps for making authentic Moroccan mint tea, enjoyed it, then went out to her local markets around the corner from her home and picked our ingredients. So fresh! Including a chicken that I believe was running around that morning. Najla was enthusiastic and clearly very knowledgeable. We learned so much, did ALL of the prepping ourselves, then feasted on our creations. These Moroccan dishes that taste so complex are actually very simple to prepare, or at least Najla made it seem that way because it was so fun! This was the best part of my 2 week trip in Morocco!
    Make Sense of Moroccan Food
    Philippa_G, Jan 2024
This cooking class gets you into Morocco mode and greatly helps you to make sense of the food landscape. On my very first night in Morocco I had Moroccan salads and chicken tangine and I didn't like it. The very next day, I went to Najla's cooking class and we made the same things but the taste was soooo good and everything was so fresh. I loved learning about the spices. Everything hangs on the spices in Morocco. I really enjoyed chatting with the other patrons too: Kosovo, Scottish, Indian, Portugese, New Zealand, Pakistani. The cooking class is so informative and Najla is an expert at what she does. This food experience will be a big highlight of your trip.
Informative and interesting cooking class with Najla

Both Nina and I had a very fascinating, informative cooking class with Najla this afternoon. She also gave us many cooking and shopping tips. Awaiting her recipes soon. Highly recommended.
An amazing way to immerse yourself in the vibrant Moroccan cuisine and culture!

This was definitely one of the highlights of our 11 days in Morocco. The whole experience was great, Najla is a wonderful person and is full of knowledge about Moroccan cuisine and culture. She taught us everything about how Moroccans prepare they sacred mint tea, took us to the local shops to buy all of the ingredients, and then taught us how to prepare a true Moroccan feast. The group was really nice and the perfect number of people so that you get to interact with everybody but still participate in every step. This is not only a cooking class, Najla gave us great tips, such as where to buy spices like the locals do and where to find the items that truly represent the vibrant Moroccan culture. Najla really takes her time to understand if anyone has any restrictions or any preferences about what to cook and eat and you get to decide which dishes to prepare as a group. We 100% recommend the experience of you are ever in Marrakech. It’s a great way to know more about the local culture and you get away with a few delicious recipes to try again at home.
    Wonderful!

    Amazing experience
    Ruth_P, Oct 2023
My daughter and I have just had the most amazing experience cooking with Najla. It was more than cooking - we met in the market by her home and shopped for the ingredients we would cook with. In the first few minutes she taught us so much as she spoke about the meat and vegetables we were buying. By the time we set off for her home we were a group of friends chatting and getting to know each other - Najla has the most amazing people skills. We arrived at her beautiful traditional home where we all sat down and were instructed on the art of making delicious Moroccan mint tea - her enthusiasm was infectious! After that we moved to a large work area where we started the food preparation. Together we cooked four main dishes and several side dishes and salads - Najla explained so clearly which spices went in each dish - she didn’t just show us what to do - we learned about the different ingredients, how to choose them and where to buy them. There was much laughter and conversation - every member of the group had something to do and Najla made the whole experience informative and fun. Eventually the food was cooked and we sat down to eat one of the best meals I’ve ever tasted. It was not just a cooking class it was a wonderful introduction to Morocco and the cuisine. 5 stars is not enough to give this amazing experience. Saying goodbye I felt as if I’d known her for ages - not just a morning. It’s our first full day in Marrakech and I don’t think we could have had a better introduction. Thank you Najla
Very worthwhile experience. A must do!

Really great information purchasing your vegetables and your meat. Very good information about spices when how to use them. Everyone is involved with preparing the meal very hands On my way.
    An unmissable experience

The cooking experience was amazing from the beginning to the end! Najla was such a welcoming host and imparted a great deal of knowledge about cooking. I came away having learnt so much. I can make green tea, Moroccan salad, Tajine and much more. The tea, biscuits at the start was a nice surprise. Her organisation was first class and you can tell she absolutely loves what she does, shes got a heart of gold! Half the group spoke French whilst the other spoke English, she was brilliant at supporting all of us in both languages without anyone feeling left out. I would definitely recommend this to all!
    Fabulous Class
    JL_G, Aug 2023
Wonderful class. The group were able to choose which dishes we would prefer to cook on the day. However we were emailed all of the receipes afterwards for the dishes that we cooked and for the dishes that we did not cook. Najla was also very helpful giving tips on other things in Morocco like shopping and where to go. Very relaxed class. Thanks
    Amazing, fun experience!
