Great tour

Great experience learning the history and able to taste 12 different dark chocolates throughout the times and sit in a cute little treehouse.

We scheduled to go on our last day in Maui before we left that night on a red eye flight. Our rental car broke down and we could not make it. We called to cancel our reservation before our scheduled time but because of the 24 hour cancel policy we couldn’t get our money back. They suggested we Uber or offered to reschedule but we had to wait for a tow truck and obviously couldn’t reschedule the date because of our flight. We lost our ticket prices and was not reimbursed. Viator gave me the direct number of the farm tour to follow up when we got home but this all happened just two days before the Lahaina fire, so I never pushed the issue with the Cacau Farm. I understand why they have the 24 hour policy, but in our case it was impossible to go and there was no exception even though I provided them with all of the documentation of the car issue and the scheduled flight.

Fun, education, and tasty experience

It was nice to learn about the cacao growing process and how the different types of chocolates are made. Enjoyed tasting several different varieties, all of which were very good. Our guide Tim was really friendly and knowlegable. He took good care of us. Worth the experience.

Back to basics and ‘basically chocolate’

Seeing the cocoa pods growing and opened to see the beans. Would have liked to have seen some workers in progress cutting open the pods.

This could have been a nice tour, but unfortunately our tour guide completely ruined the experience. He seemed completely uninterested in giving us the tour, and was extremely rude when answering questions. At one point he even said stuff like "I don't care for chocolate", or "this is your tour, I don't care". It overall created a very weird vibe on the tour and understandably most visitors were not very keen to engage much during the tour. The chocolate tasting itself was nice and the farm looked nice, so we could imagine it would be a very enjoyable experience if you had a good tour guide.

Our guide was very nice and tried to make our experience as fun as possible but the truth is there’s not much to experience! You’re gonna see a few cocoa trees and bunch of cocoa beans and learn a thing or two about them then you’ll climb up a tree house and try 9 pieces of chocolates and that’s all!!! Why do they charge $85 per person for that I don’t know! Long story short, don’t waste your time and money on this, with half that money you can find way better and more fun activities out there.

Tasting the different chocolates was tasty and informative. Beautiful raised deck made for a gorgeous view. The guide Sean was knowledgeable and funny. So patient and kind with our 4 and 7 yr olds questions.

The entire trip was memorable!! Our guide was very knowledgeable and very friendly!! She told us about the area on the way up the mountain/desert area. When we arrived to where the Cacao trees were, she was very knowledgeable. The treehouse and area were my favorite!!

This experience was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide Ashley was awesome, super knowledgeable, personable, and funny. The farm is beautiful, and it was so cool to learn about the process of growing cacao trees, and cultivating the fruit into the chocolate we eat today. The chocolate tasting was also so cool! The chocolates they make here are all delicious and unique. Highly recommend putting an ice pack in the insulated bags they provide at the end of the trip though, sadly we had a lot of chocolate melt in the car afterwards.

Sweetest tour on Maui

Very enjoyable and fascinating tour that makes you fully appreciate the chocolate making process from the tree up. You get to walk through the groves and see the bean pods up close. Extremely informative and the view from the chocolate tasting location is breathtaking. Our tour guide Mackenzie was personable and knowledgeable. She is terrific! A must see for anyone with a sweet tooth for confections.
