This Maui horseback riding tour is run by real 'paniolos,' the Hawaiian cowboys who make their living by ranching, roping, and riding. Canter across pastures with sweeping views looking out at the island’s north shore, and trek through the West Maui rain forest. This is real ranching and real riding out in the Maui country.

Your Maui horseback tour begins at the Mendes Ranch Corral, where you meet the paniolos and your horse before embarking on your ride. Choose from a morning or afternoon departure.
Canter across rolling green pastures and down towards Waihee Valley, where you ride along the wave-battered coast with the Pacific Ocean as your backdrop and see panoramic vistas of the valley. Snap photos of the central valley and get photos of you up in the saddle. Then, gradually ascend your way up the mountain, passing taro patches and plantation homes, on the return trip back to Mendes Ranch corral.

If weight limit is exceeded cost of tour is NON -REFUNDABLE** Please enter your weight in pounds and height in feet/inches

- Not recommended for travelers with back problems
- Not recommended for pregnant travelers
- No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
Cancellation Policy
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
- Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

The location is easy to find, very friendly staff and very organized. The horseback ride was a lot of fun plus we had a chance to do a Gallup. It rained towards the end and made the experience more fun and memorable. Beautiful scenic views throughout the ride. Well worth spending the money on this ride. Horses were absolutely beautiful

We booked a morning ride while we were visiting Maui and it ended up being the highlight of our trip! Chase was an awesome guide and hearing the history of the ranch made the experience even more special. They matched the horses personalities to you / your riding capabilities / riding experience and they certainly nailed the pairings in our experience. They made sure you knew how to ride and direct the horse properly before starting the ride and it really was a seamless, amazing experience. I would 10/10 recommend this experience for anyone thinking about it - you will not regret it!

Great place to relax and enjoy the viewing 👌 and the horses 🐎 But what is best is their service JORDAN...CHASE...AND JACKIE are awesome great and lovely people...it was my daughter's first time riding a horse and they made her feel comfortable

We had high hopes for this family experience and have always wanted to try horseback riding. My kids range from 11-17 years and were also excited to try horseback riding for the first time. I feel that while we’re glad we did it, the views were beautiful and the experience on horses was worthwhile, our two guides both seemed to be low on energy. One of them led the front and never interacted with our family, and the one leading the rear of the group didn’t talk much either, except to make occasional sarcastic comments. I was sad that my son noticed that and mentioned that the guides didn’t seem that friendly or happy. Generally, it’s the guides that make an experience amazing and unforgettable, so this was a downer for us. Having said that, we are grateful for the amazing views and once in a lifetime experience.

We rode Poncho & Chance and had an incredibly fun time. The views are breathtaking & the guides are great! This is a must do if your a horse lover. It’s also great if you’ve never rode a horse too.

Jackie, Chase and Jordan were fantastic! The horses were picked to beat fit each individual person based on skills. The views were beautiful and the history Chase and Jordan shared about the ranch was really interesting! We booked our excursion the night before and everything went so smooth! You’ll take beautiful pictures along the coast! We will be back!

Great day horseback riding with my wife and two teenage sons. We didn't really have previous riding experience. The staff was very helpful in educating us and matching us with the right horse. The trail wasn't too difficult but there are peaks and valleys. The scenery was breathtaking. It's a very relaxed and enjoyable ride, horses are well trained and only have to manage them eating too much around you. Plenty of picture taking opportunities. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and they love what they do. Definitely wear long pants and closed toe shoes. They provide water and sunscreen for you!
