We will meet inside the tienda (store) where the owner will treat us to coffee and snacks. Please arrive between 30 minutes before departure (10:30 AM) as the tour departs at 11:00 AM sharp.

This is a full walking tour where we go up and down stairs and more. Travelers must be able to walk and move freely without any assistance for 5 hours.

Authentic & Immersive Experience

This tour is the most memorable from our time in Medellín. You start off in a popular tienda/bodega at the top of a hill, greeting your guide and meeting a local resident from Comuna 13 over a drink and snack (empanadas were delicious!) and you walk down steps and explore the neighborhood the rest of the time (much easier than many tours that start at the bottom and make you hike up the hill). We heard the real story of the neighborhood that our local guide lived since her childhood, visited a home to see how people live, and stopped by several bars, art shops and food stands that our guide recommended. Picking the right places to go and having all our street food and beer covered by the tour is a huge benefit - you really see more, sit in the best spots with incredible views, and experience what the local residents like to do and eat and drink. We must have sampled 12-15 beers along the way, and tried 5-6 types of food and dessert. It felt limitless to try things as we went and to have a new friend from this community point things out along the way. Unscripted, so fun, so original. Do it!!!

Amazing local experience, perfect tour!

I got connected to the Chubit Tours on Facebook…and really wanted to experience the real Comuna 13. We started our tour in the popular local store Granero el corazón and there we met Daniel, a local and his family, had a coffee and ate a snack, then we crossed the neighborhood on the way to the graffiti tour, here we could see how local families live in an environment (not touristy at all) - we got to the road of the graffiti tour - I really appreciated an art store, we had a few beers in a local bar, we saw excellent views of the city (very different perspective ) We stopped by in art galleries, we ate a tasty local ice cream, we finished the tour by going up to the cable subway of the aurora and eating some street food - hot wings were amazing :)
