What To Expect

Live la vida loca in Mexico City! In the evening, meet your guide and fellow tour members at a central Mexico City location. Start off at a popular local Mexican cantina for light dinner and drinks (own expense). As you dig into delicious fare, hear about what to expect the rest of the night.

After dinner, follow your guide to the subway to get to the Lucha Libre Arena, and settle into your reserved seat for an exciting 2-hour experience. Learn the basic rules of lucha libre, or masked wrestling, one of Mexico’s most beloved spectator sports, perhaps second only to soccer. Lucha libre draws huge audiences, and you’ll watch some of the best matches of the night. Cheer on as each masked fighter, or luchador, catapults into the ring. After the show, check out the masks for sale and snap shots of your visit to the stadium.

After the arena, head over to Garibaldi Square, teeming with locals, visitors and music. For an hour here, listen to Mexican mariachi bands and join in on the singing and dancing. Then, your guide escorts you to a Zocalo-area pub or club, the perfect place to wind down your night with drinks (own expense).

When your tour ends, your guide can take you back to the original meeting point, assist you in hailing a cab or provide tips on where you can discover more nightlife on your own.

My best night in Mexico City
Ellen_J, Sep 2023
This tour was the highlight of an incredible trip to Mexico City! I had so much fun at every step of the way — the tequila and mezcal tasting, listening to mariachi at the cantina, and of course at the Lucha Libre fight. Adriana was the best guide I could have asked for. I learned a lot and had a blast!

Had an excellent time during this tour. Our group of around 10 was just perfect. Our guide Jacinto was great! He kept us secure, and went over and above to make sure we all have a great time.
The best tour ever

Great Experience

Cesar was a great host. He was very knowledgeable about Lucha Libre and I was extremely impressed with the performances of these masked athletes. After that we learned about Mezcal and Tequila, and danced with a beautiful and charismatic mariachi singer (her "ay yi yi" catchphrase was well-delivered). The cantina afterwards had great food.
Fun!

This is a blast! Milton was an excellent tour guide and got everyone into the fun. I would do this tour again when I visit CDMX again!

First viator tour I have experienced that was nearly a complete disapointment. This tour featured using public transportation, eating first at a cantina, then going to Luche Libre, followed by an hour of dancing/singling at Garibaldi Square. Finally drop off at a pub near Zocolo. In contrast to the description, this is what happened. First we were taken to a bar to drink for over 1/2 hour. Many of us hadnt eaten, expecting to go to cantina first, so we were not pleased, We seemed to be waiting for a driver. Our van not public transport arrived and then took us to the tequila museum at Garibaldi Sq. Altho this was not on the itinerary, we stayed there for over 1/2 hour and then were asked to test some cheap tequila. By then it was 730 and many were starving. We walked across the square, entered a mediocre restaurent. It was not a traditional cantina. It offered OK food, nothing special. while OK, it was the worst food we had in CDMX while discovering places on our own Since we were running late we were asked to order simple things like tacos. We only had 1/2 hour to order, eat, and pay so it was very rushed. No singing and dancing to Mariachi band in the Square. Luche Libre was indeed entertaining. After LL we got into the van and were dropped off in a dark alley blocks away from the Zocolo, not at a pub close to Zocolo I would recommend this trip if Viator can guarantee it will be as advertised. Otherwise I would go to Luche Libre on my own.

This definitely was the best tour I took in México. The tour guide was great, explaining everything we saw and experienced. The lucha libre was awesome, the part I had less expectations and it was a great experience, I had a really fun time. The visit to Plaza Garibaldi was great, even though I think we got short in time or I'd had like to spend more time strolling in the Plaza after dinner. I recommend this tour.

MUST DO! You need to schedule this tour, our guide Pilar was really nice and the group was in the mood for having a great time! I did it as a solo traveler, and it's perfect since you get to meet a lot of people and Pilar is great with the ice-breaking dynamics. We were a group of 8 approx, and we all got to meet each other, and have nice talks! The places chosen for this tour are worth it, and I can ensure you will have one of your greatest nights at México.

Easily the worst experience of our time in Mexico City. The guide was 30 minutes late, we walked forever to the cantina. and what we thought was going to be a tour of several cantina turned out to be one sit down dinner at one cantina with occasional appearance of a Mariachi. Dinner was incredibly long. We us sat there talking with our friends. Thought we were going to tour several cantinas then go out on the square to listen to music before being bused to the arena. Didn't happen. Then when we got to the arena, there was a mixup on times and tickets and we stood outside on the street for a long, long time, then got to our seats 20 minutes late. A pretty much wasted evening.

This was a great way to experience night life in Mexico City! Our plane was late so we were late in trying to meet up with the group, but our guide Milton was very helpful and accommodating. The earthquake happened during this time as well, so everyone was scrambling to get things back on track. Everything was well organized and very professional.

This tour is a definite MUST and our tour guide Rodrigo was amazing! You get to see an inside on Mexico City night life, learn some brief history of tequila, mariachi, the luchador culture, and the Zocalo district. It was a great way to meet people and even with much drinking, it was very organized. Rodrigo made sure the party was brought out of everyone. Definitely our best night there!

Great tour of Mexican culture and history. The tequila museum and La Tenampa in Plaza Garibaldi were great stops and we were provided a lot of information by León, the guide. We then went by metro to the Arena México for the lucha libre. We had to wait out in the rain while León bought the tickets. I think it would have been preferable if the tickets had been purchased in advance. The lucha was a great experience and really enjoyable. However, I would have preferred if León hadn't joined in on a certain chant as it's rather offensive and the group could have had people of various sexual orientations. Also, the group was scheduled to leave before the final fight. I understand the guides have families and want to get home but as it was only 20 more minutes I think it would have been better to stay for the whole thing, especially as we arrived late. Overall it was a very good tour and with a few improvements would be top-notch.

What can I say? This tour was AWESOME! The guide was great and of positive energy. I cannot emphasize how much you must take this, I went on a daughter mother trip, and I am 28 years old and my mom in her late 50's and let me tell you... we both enjoyed this just as much! If you want a good safe fun night, try this out!!!!

Super fun tour! Cesar was a great host all night, and your seats for the Lucha Libre match were great! As someone visiting Mexico City alone, this was an excellent way to experience some nightlife safely with other people. Even made some friends to spend the rest of the weekend with!
