Save your money, and see using Uber

Having been on many Big Bus tours, both in USA and Europe, this was the worst. Appreciate you can't guarantee a seat upstairs, but his was ridiculous. Got on at Soundscape Park (9.30am), and the inky seat we could get was downstairs, facing the back! Didn't manage to get a seat upstairs until Wynwood Walls! Really annoyed, since we'd booked dour tickets back in October 2023. Many other people were also complaining, especially as they jammed people downstairs... with standing in the aisle and on the stairs. Usually, on previous tours, they won't allow that for safety reasons. Also found the commentary when downstairs was not clear, and broke up frequently. Better when eventually upstairs. However, the 'sights' were largely boring. If we'd known we wouldn't be able to see anything between stops 3 and 8, and what we did eventually see, we wouldn't have wasted our money. Wouldn't recommend this tour. You'd be better deciding where you want to see, and go by Uber. The only decent place to visit (which we'd already done ourselves) was Bayside Marketplace.

Great thing to do in Miami

Great tour to get good overview of Miami and then visit in depth any areas you want to. We also had the Everglades option and were really glad we did. We chose to sit downstairs in each bus we caught and the experience was good on all but the last bus - all of the windows had the black dots so you couldn’t get a really clear view and definitely not a photo.

No working a/c on bus!

The boat tour was great. However, the bus portion was not pleasant. The a/c was not working so many people could not stand to be on the bus. It was raining outside so sitting on top of the bus was not a viable option.

Great tour. But The bus tour was longer then expect which nice for us but in the fine print they only give you 2 hours to do the bus and then the boat tour expires. We had to argue to get the boat tour ticket. And poor communication to get the boat ticket from the bus. Waited in line for the boat to find out we had the wrong ticket. Then missed the time we wanted. Luckily just 30 mins.

Definitely worth booking through Viator

We booked through Viator on the morning we wanted to use it, was about £25pp for a 1 day hop on & off with the boat tour, the bus we used as a get around & thought it cheaper than using ubers. We were disappointed that it didn't announce the stops as we didn't realise it had (or maybe it didn't) stop at Wynwood which was one of only a couple of places I wanted to see so we missed that. The drivers were all friendly, just showed our QR code to start & they gave us a printed ticket for the rest of journey - very easy, audio was good, the route was just around the city & not very interesting scenery, we didn't get any problems with staff asking for tips (not like New York where staff walk around on the bus with caps hassling for tips) you simply get on & no hassle. The boat tour made the experience & very easy, loads of staff at ticket booths at Biscayne market to help, again they transferred our Viator QR code to a printed ticket, very easy. Boat was good, not too busy, good seats, good tour guide & definitely worthwhile. A cheap way to get around & see some sights. Thanks Viator, great price.

Definitely it’s not a hop on hop off bus (contrary to description). Prerecorded audio tour was informative. There were supposed to be two audio jacks. However, one of the audio jacks was not working in our seats. We had to share an earplug (which was provided by company when you enter the bus). I noticed that this is the same case for other seats. A lot of passengers were sharing their earplugs. Boat tour was better than the bus tour. We did the bus tour first. But You can schedule your boat tour when you claim your bus tickets to reserve your spot on the boat. Overall, it was just okay. It’s a good way to spend your time in Miami when you have a late flight.

So the website says to buy a ticket for $30 to do hop on hop off and the boat tour but that is NOT the case. It’s $75 for that feature and they couldn’t fix it when I called without charging me a separate $75 and maybe refunding me the other ticket money. They didn’t refund me. Also it was more music than talking about points about the city. Overall rating of the actual hop on / hop off is poor as well. Usable to get around the city I guess but Uber is cheaper. Don’t buy this through Viator go to Big Bus directly.

The bus was fine, although the only interesting portions were the downtown core, South Beach, and Little Havana. The audio was clear since it was prerecorded, the constant begging for tips for your driver who "loved having you onboard" were silly, especially since the driver just grunted at us when we got on the bus. The optional boat was a nice trip through the harbor, but the so-called "giveaway" on the boat had a prize of being pitched a timeshare. My wife saw a review before we filled out an overly intrusive form.

I enjoyed the boat tour a lot and would definely recommend this option. On the other hand, I believe taking panoramic tour instead of hop-on/hop-off was a good decision, because all the buses and stops were crowded and it was impossible to board until the next bus or who knows when. The biggest downside of this tour was a rudness of Big Bus booth representative (Miguel), who was very aggressive in driving in his point and talked in a raised voice while other employees just looked the other way. I definitely see some room for improvement here. Because of that, my first day of holidays was not as good as it could be.

The bus tour was pleasant and narration was really good. We were a bit disappointed in not being able to get on and off the bus! Our initial interaction with the Big Bus staff member, Miguel F., was HORRIBLE. It definitely tainted the rest of our experience. He was curt, rude, and not helpful. We didn’t realize when purchasing a HOP ON HOP OFF ticket through Viator, we were not able to hop on and off! He was derogatory toward Viator. We felt pressured in the moment to decide on the boat cruise time, which wasn’t necessary, we later found out. After visiting the Queen Island boat company, we were kindly and graciously helped by Yenina, who changed our ticket to the sunset cruise without any hesitation. We were thankful there was space on that boat tour time and realize she didn’t have to make the change for us. She was an example of great customer service.
