Valerie was AMAZING! Her detailed accounts of New Orleans history and her humor made this excursion a great experience. She was very personable and was accommodating. It was hot and humid and she gave me her neck fan just so I could be comfortable. She was a lot of fun. Her knowledge was impeccable and I would recommend this tour to everyone.

Killer chow hiding in plain sight
Michael_L, Apr 2024
Think Bourbon Street is one big tourist trap? Maybe, but Donald knows where the legit etouffee, gumbo, jambalaya and red beans and rice are hiding in plain sight. Great eats.

Raffle, our guide, was great as were the sample tastings of NO favorites. He was entertaining sharing how traditional dishes came to be and how the locals prepared them.
Good start for exploring new food!
Katheryne_F, Mar 2024
This food tour did sample some of the New Orleans greatest hits: red beans and rice, jambalaya, gumbo, ettoufee… It would have been nice to have some of the more adventurous fare: Gator bites, beignets, po’ boys… we came hungry and heard about lots of food! Our guide Donald was very knowledgeable! He gave great suggestions for French Quarter food! Each stop was way too long. Twenty ish minutes to sip water and have a sample.
Unforgettable Culinary History Tour with Raffle in New Orleans

Our tour guide, Raffle, made our Culinary History Tour in New Orleans truly unforgettable. His expertise in explaining the food and the city's history was exceptional. Raffle's passion for the subject was evident, and his storytelling made the experience both educational and entertaining. We will definitely be seeking out his tour again when we return to Nawlins!

This was our first visit to New Orleans and we wanted a tour that would provide some history of the city and its culinary traditions. Our tour guide Don did exactly that!! He showed such passion for his hometown and its cuisine. We learned a lot.

Great tastings and much more
Jacob_H, Oct 2023
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Donald, our guide, was very knowledgeable not only about food but also about the history of the area. He gave lots of tips about where to go to eat and covered up many topics related to many kinds of local dishes. Restaurant tastings were great- jambalaya, red beans and rice, gumbo, etoufeé, and in candy shop- pralines.
With severe weather...
Richard_R, Aug 2023
With severe weather predicted for the scheduled tour time, we called to see if it might be cancelled & were told it likely would, so we cancelled our participation on-line - to see the $88 tour fee was also the cancelation fee! Trying to go ahead and take the tour, 2+ hours before the scheduled start - we were told it had been cancelled because we'd been the only 2 participants! They were only "willing" to carry the $88 fee until we eventually returned to New Orleans at some future date! Seems like bait & switch - and the poorest version of "customer service" which we will fight through our credit card compsny!!
Excellent tour
Elisabeth_M, Jul 2023
Raffles was an excellent guide, very interesting and personable. We even went to a shop where the make the coper gas lamps! We learned about many more restaurants than we visited. He told us how each food we sampled was prepared, and they were delicious. Most of the tour cancelled due to rain....so we had a personalized tour. I recommend this tour for anyone interested in learning about the local iconic foods and where to try the best of the best. Food rep, history and current events all rolled into one.....great tour, and affordable!
Donald KNOWS NOLA!
Steven_H, Jul 2023
Donald was an excellent and informative guide. Very personable and pointed us in many directions AFTER the tour! We'd strongly suggest asking for him by name!
You can taste the history!
Charles_S, May 2023
The tour guides knowledge was unbelievable. It was a great experience tasting the food and learning where the food came from and how it was made.
Wish I could give it 0 stars
Heather_S, Apr 2023
They called 5 minutes after the tour was set to start to tell us it was cancelled. Not only did I waste my time that could have been spent doing something else, I missed out on a tour I was looking forward to.
