Philly and amish country all good, the start at 630am was not well organized abit of a shambles only one coach had a tour sign and the tour guides didnt seem to know what was happening however our guide turned out to be excellent, full of energy and information speaking 4 languages. Time and experience in Philly was excellent the time and experience in Amish country was disappointing but overall good day

I'm rating this trip a 3 star because even though we enjoyed ourselves we were quite disappointed with part of the trip. I would highly recommend a Philadelphia tour on it's own. DO NOT purchase the Amish tour. The countryside is beautiful BUT the Amish experience was ..well extremely disappointing. We were taken to a local family farm and literally ONLY saw their barn. Yes only their barn...AND that WAS IT! Absolutely nothing educational in regards to the Amish schools, way of living, community or anything at all. I wasn't going to leave a review but I don't want anyone else to ALSO have high expectations and end up EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED as far as the whole Amish experience.
Worth the travel from any

The tour was very interesting and enjoyable. Our tour guide provided lots of interesting information and took us to interesting historical landmarks. The visit to Lancaster County to learn about the Amish was fascinating so much fun.

Not worth the cost or early morning departure
NAYANTARA_P, Dec 2023
The guide was mediocre and did not provide much background information. The sites visited in Philadelphia were relatively brief after a long drive. The lunch location in Philadelphia recommended by the guide was disappointing. No commentary was given by the guide on the long return journey.
Response from Host, Jan 2024
Hello, Thank you for the review. We are glad you were able to travel to Philadelphia with us. We always recommend authentic Philly-Cheesesteak for lunch. We will be happy to host you again in the future.
Meh
Kerri_B, Dec 2023
I found Philadelphia disappointing and the he Amish visit was pointless. It was a day trip so Philly may have impressed more if I stayed longer. The tour guide was good and informative in Philly but the ol fella who does the Amish part not so much. My impression of the locations was meh; stars would be 4 if the Amish bit was dropped. And that is not because they are Amish. It just wasn’t informative and walking through a stable - here are some chickens; here are some horses; here are some guinea pigs; nope - didn’t drive all that way to see a few animals.
Response from Host, Jan 2024
Hello Kerri, Thank you for the review. We are glad you enjoyed Philadelphia. The visit to the Amish is something unique to the region. Additionally we visit a real life Amish farm not a museum so that we can give a genuine depiction of differences between Amish and traditional lifestyle. Have a good day
Good
IDOIA_B, Nov 2023
Was amaizing experience Adrian the Spanish Guide was amaizing The only that we didn’t like was the transportation ( only 2 stars) since Amish until NYC IN A SMALL Bus and the driver woman was all time angry and with the traffic in NYC all time was angry and voice bad words plus was hot into the small Bus and all time all of us had to repeat her please turn on the air conditioner because inside with aprox 25 persons was very hot and was no comforts for 2:30 hours The Tour in Philadelphia was amaizing

Skip the Amish
Roger_M, Oct 2023
The tour of Philadelphia was very interesting. However the tour to Amish country was not. It was an additional hour away from Philadelphia and we really didn’t see any people. We took a ride in one of their buggies to a farm. At the farm we saw the barn and some horses, mules, puppies but it could have been any farmers barn. Then we went to a shopping village and were stuck there for 2 hours awaiting the 3 hour drive back to NYC. They should eliminate the Amish part and spent more time in Philadelphia.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Hi Roger Thank you for your review We are glad that you enjoyed your tour to Philadelphia. Please note that The Amish Country is not a museum and they are not there to perform for us. They let us see what they do on a daily basis. We look forward to hosting you again. Stephanie Empire Vacations

Burger4758, Sep 2023
The history of Philly is amazing. Our guide Carlos was knowledgeable and entertaining, with just the right amount of info. A little bit "whistlestop" but fitted in lots. Enjoyed the Amish experience also. Only negative was the lunch stop...not a lot of options around and the Philly Cheese wasnt to everyones taste. Overall good value for money

Rainer_F, Sep 2023
the whole journey was memoriable but I did not like at all the agressive tip hunting of the tour gide, simply disgusting and shame on him, expecting a 20 o/o tip on the sales orice of the tour
Response from Host, Sep 2023

Paz_s, Sep 2023

Response from Host, Sep 2023
Hi Paz Thank you for your review The Amish community lets us see their daily activities, but this is not a museum and they are not there to perform for us. Stephanie Empire Vacations
A Sweet Little Slice of American Life
Angela_M, Aug 2023
This super long day was a great way to build discipline (wake up early) and team spirit whilst learning about America's history and other American's living their dream lives and customs. The snacks along the way were a tasty addition to the adventure.
Response from Host, Aug 2023

time saver at a cost
Derly_F, Aug 2023
Plus- having a private bus;a tour guide; connection from the Philly city to the Amish town, time saver, buggy ride and driver- brief but cute. Minus- the price- trying to figure out why the trip has a cost of $169pp when all the places that were visited had free entrance with the exception of the buggy ride ($16).The breakfast location was a food court with one coffee place open which ran out of food with the first few customers. Nice coffee though. The lunch location was ok, would have liked a nicer restaurant with locals making the philly steak sandwich. The tour guide was ok. Recommendations; if you have time, you can take a bus from Port Authority for $18ish/train-20ish each ride and explore Philadelphia on your own. The travel agency should partner with local businesses such as (Bird in Hand) in the Amish town to create a better experience that would allow tourists to visit other places that would allow visitors to get a better sense of how the Amish community lives. The tour guide kept saying 'Amish on the left' 'Amish on the right' but that is not enough after hours of riding.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Hello Derly Thank you for your review and your feedback. We do in fact partner with local businesses such as Bird in Hand and Kitchen Kettle Village. We are glad that you enjoyed your tour. Stephanie Empire Vacations
Not as expected
Christine_O, Aug 2023
Was an OK trip. 2/3 of the group was Italian and the guide had to entertain the groups both in English and Italian. Going through historical area in Phil was good but not enough time for all location. Took us to a place for lunch but took too long to get food and was not able to finish. The server was not a pleasant person...not so good experience. Visit to Amish town was a bit of a diappointment. Nothing traditional..just a buggy ride to a barn and dropped us at the shopping area where the shops were not anything traditional amish at all.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Hello Thank you for your review We are glad that you enjoyed your tour. Please note that the Amish are not there to perform for us. They allow us to see what a day in their life looks like. We stop at the Amish Market where we can buy handmade souvenirs. Stephanie Empire Vacations
Nice but not so Amish
Marvin_V, Aug 2023
It was a nice tour but we didn't get to see a lot of the amish. We thought it would be more around the amish people. The things you do are nice (like the kettle village) but you only do 1 stop at an amish farm.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Hi Marvin Thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your tour to Philadelphia and Amish Country. Please note that the Amish allow us to see how their day to day life looks like, but they are not there to perform for us. We look forward to hosting you again. Stephanie Empire Vacations

Our guide (Uta) was great. Very knowledgeable and personable. It was really hot nd humid and she did what she could to keep us out of the sun. My favorite was Amish country but for others in our family the favorite was the history of Philadelphia.
