What To Expect

A true taste of New York City, this pizza walking tour has been featured widely on TV, from the Travel Channel to the Food Network. Let your local foodie guide show you Manhattan’s best spots for cheesy, delicious slices while learning New York history and trivia along the way. Receive a pocket pizza journal as well.

Crosstown Pizza Walking Tour (Little Italy and Greenwich Village)

Stroll through the storied streets of Little Italy, where pizza was first introduced to America in the early 1900s by the Italian immigrants who settled here. Pop in at the oldest pizzeria in America, then make your way to neighboring Greenwich Village to sample a slice in this eclectic neighborhood.

Greenwich Village Pizza Walking Tour (North Village or South Village)

Get a feel for the flavor of Greenwich Village and discover the evolution of this unique area from one of Manhattan’s earliest Italian neighborhoods to a trendy post-bohemian scene. Learn how industrial America put its own spin on pizza after the cheesy dish made its way to New York from Southern Italy, and try three very different interpretations of this now-classic comfort food.

Lower East Side Pizza Walking Tour (Lower East Side of Manhattan)

Manhattan’s Lower East Side is a pizza-lover’s paradise, with dozens of pizzerias packed into this eclectic neighborhood. You’ll find pizza-by-the-slice windows, crispy wood oven-fired creations, old-fashioned Neapolitan pies, and modern interpretations of New York City’s signature dish. Talk to pizza makers to learn about the effects of different ovens and signature dough-stretching maneuvers.

Awesome experience! We really enjoyed hearing about the history of pizza in NY AND being able to sample and "critique" three different pizza establishments serving three different types of pizza.
Super fun!!!

Fun Pizza Tour

Enjoyed going to Keste, John's, & Fiores but the first 2 are across the street from each other. This isn't really a "walking" tour. You'll get only few fitbit steps. The guide was friendly & knowledgeable and there was a table waiting for us at the popular John's. The history of pizza & info was good but for the per person price there should be more VIP perks/tastings etc.
Fun way to learn about pizza
BethAnn_A, Oct 2019
We had a great time walking though Manhattan and learning (and tasting) about pizza. The 3 places we went to were different from each other. It also taught us to not judge a place by the outside! We enjoyed the pizza and atmosphere at Fiore's and we ate the pizza outside standing up! (Note: usually we were sitting in a restaurant but it happened to be a special event at Fiore's and we ended up outside...only added to our experience!)
The best part of our trip!

The pizza tour was absolutely the highlight of our trip to NYC. We had two 11 year-olds with us, and they really enjoyed it. There was so much to learn, so much to eat and it was fantastic! Krista, our guide was absolutely the best. She was so passionate and helpful.

Alexis was the greatest tour guide ! This tour was so packed full of info , humor and of course spectacular pizza ! I’m normally a thin crust person but Ben’s Sicilian style was my absolute favorite on this tour !! Would highly recommend this to others !

I'm a native New Yorker and realized I know nothing abut pizza. Truly enjoyed this tour. Our guide was amazing and so knowledgeable.

Krista did an amazing job explaining the different styles of pizza we experienced. The group was able to experience the creation of the pizza and learn about the different ingredients that made each pizzeria unique. The group had time to enjoy a drink if one is wanted at the establishments. Krista offered recommendations after the tour of other pizzerias and even recommended a cool place to get a drink after the tour. Definitely book this experience if you are a pizza lover. The tour I attended is the Lower East Side/East Village tour Sunday at 4:30PM

Miriam the tour guide was a pizza enthusiast, therefore a great host. We were given information on the origin of pizza and the different types of ovens used which give different base tastes. Went to three different venues and were given pizza slices at each which were yummy. Well worth doing this tour.

Our pizza tour was great, Very interesting and informative. Our tour guide was more than knowledgeable about kinds of pizzas, the processes of making them ,the ingredients and where in the city to eat the best types of pizza. She was also funny and obviously enjoys guiding pizza tours. All of the pizzas were delicious, and you get plenty. The people cooking at the pizza shops were nice and generous. A really fun and fulfilling tour for New Yorkers and tourists.

This has to be one of the best tours around. Our guide Joe was amazing - what he doesn't know about pizza isn't worth knowing!! We did the tour in 2015 and were so impressed when we were back in NYC this year it was one of the first things we booked to do. I can't recommend it enough!

Sandy P, Nov 2017
It was fun and interesting until we arrived at our last pizza taste. It was just a pizza joint with very few places to sit down and one of us had to stand the entire time. Most people in our group of around 10 were not able to sit. It was so noisy, we couldnt hear what our tour guide pizza expert had to say. Very disappointing. In order to get a drink, we had to wait in line like other customers.

We had so much fun on this tour, and our tour guide, Ted, was very knowledgeable and funny :- We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. All 3 pizza stops were unique, so it was a great experience for us. Pizza slices were large, so we were very full at the end of the tour.
