After the group has arrived, set off with a guide to lead the way and get you skip-the-line speakeasy access, which saves you the hassle of making a booking or waiting in line. Then, when inside, you can order whatever drinks you like (own expense) while learning about the history of the Prohibition era.

Discover fun facts that you likely wouldn’t have uncovered alone, find lesser-known venues that are hard to identify from the outside, and visit up to seven different establishments in one night. Spots may vary, but some bars may have burlesque shows, or secret entrances—such as through a psychic shop or a bank vault door.

At the final stop, you can either stay at the venue, or head off to discover the local area—which includes plenty of bars, comedy clubs, and live music venues.

Alex Gabriel Kanze was our tour guide, and this guy is fantastic. He is a major history buff, and knew a ton about the period (prohibition, before and after, and shared his knowledge in a fast paced, but entertaining way. We highly recommend this tour, and plan to do it again the next time we're in the big apple.

Love the history that was...
Maureen_F, Mar 2024
Love the history that was shared on the tour. We met new people and shared lots of laughs! Lyonel knew his stuff about the speakeasies we toured, but even better he incorporated great party trivia into the mix!
Want to do it again.

Our tour guide Jett was very knowledgeable and very personable. We went to 3 spots and learned a lot about speak easys and prohibition.
Lots of fun!

Alex was extremely knowledgeable and friendly , multi-lingual too! The speakeasys we visited were quite interesting!
Disappointing experience
Michelle_B, Dec 2023
We were excited about this adventure but were disappointed. The tour only goes to one actual speakeasy. The other two places are interesting bars but nothing special. In fact, the tongue made it clear before going to the last stop that he wasn’t staying. No one in our group stayed.
Great speakeasies, guide not so much
Jade_S, Nov 2023
The tour was alright. We went to 2/3 places because the last place was closed. The 2 we did go to were nice. The tour guide, Jett, can be rude though and I wouldn’t recommend this to my friends for fear they’d have a similar experience.

Great guide and a wonderful group of people to enjoy the experience with. People from different countries as well as regions in the US. Learned history, made friends and enjoyed some great drinks served by amazing staff at each stop.
Would definitely do again

Yummy speakeasy drinks, stories and history
Wendy_M, Sep 2023
Russell was our tour guide. He was very knowlegable about the history of the speakeasys we visited. I was a solo traveler and felt safe at each location. You pay for the drinks separately; which are priced at NYC prices, but the drinks were good with a delicious seletion of drink options. I enjoyed each speakeasys from an original location to a more modern location; the stories, history and the drinks.
I read before I booked...
LaTonya_R, Sep 2023
I read before I booked but before I read we would at least go to 6 speakeasy’s. Probably wouldn’t be able to have a drink at everyone. The reality was we went to 2. The last one number 3 was not at speakeasy and he basically said goodbye because he had concert to go to. Was very disappointed
Response from Host, Sep 2023
I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy the experience. Do you have the link where we offer to visit 6 speakeasies?
Very knowledgeable guide!...
Carey_C, Sep 2023
Very knowledgeable guide! Good locations - would have liked at least one drink included and would be great if the 3rd was as close as the first 2. We had a fun group though and the guide definitely knew the history!
Excellent!
Franny_H, Sep 2023
This was a great tour, showing us bars we’d never have found on our own and with excellent narrative given by Russell. Many thanks for your company and expertise.

Alex was very knowledgeable and affable. The 3 stops were fun. I would recommend the drinks were a little pricey, but that isn’t the tours fault
Fabulous tour

We fully enjoyed our tour with Russell. He was super informative and personable.. My husband and I had a great time learning about the history of speakeasies in NYC. We went to three hidden spots all with inconspicuous entrances. I loved the vibe of all the bars- all with beautiful but with different aesthetics. The second bar we visited was a real speakeasy back in the day. There was zero pressure to buy a drink at each of the locations, but because I love cocktails, I couldn’t resist the interesting creations at each bar. All of the cocktails were crafted well! It was also fun chatting with the other visitors on our tour. Overall, it was a fun and memorable experience! Thank you Russell!
First stop makes it worth it
Paul_R, Jun 2023
Josh was okay. Didn’t have the facts down though. Talked way too fast. The last place we went he left immediately and explained nothing as to why we were brought there. Basically walked us inside and told us to order a drink and left. Only really described the first place which he said was the “only real speakeasy on the tour.” Second stop was neat but he didn’t say why we were there? First place was so cool though.
Speakeasy and prohibition tour
Debbie_T, Jun 2023
Great evening spent sipping cocktails in hideaway speakeasys. Our guide was very informative about prohibition and the group was nice and small. Relaxed evening in some great surroundings.
Interesting tour

Our guide Ben give us very interesting facts about the prohibition era. Nice crowd in the group, and cocktails were good too. I would highly recommend it.
Great Experience For the New Yorker and Tourist Alike
Jasmine_S, Apr 2023
We had a great friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, and an awesome Australian family that happened to be taking the tour with us. It really felt like hanging out with a bunch of friends while learning about an interesting time in our American history, and finding great new places to plan for future date nights. Oh and the drinks were great with awesome classy parlor like venues. Just an overall great time. Highly recommend for someone visiting NY and wanting a fun and different experience while learning some history of NY, and equally as much for a New Yorker like myself who is looking for yet another cool, fun, different way to experience our amazing city (and for us to learn something about it too 😁).
