What To Expect

Meet your guide in the Marais district—once the locale of Parisian aristocracy and now one of the city’s most fashionable and artsy neighborhoods. Set off by foot to discover why Marais is also known as a destination for discerning foodies, starting off with a typical Parisian breakfast of coffee and a croissant.

Continue on through the atmospheric medieval streets to a boulangerie (bakery) for a sampling of traditional French bread and a lesson in the proper way to eat a baguette. Make your way to Paris’s oldest covered market to browse the colorful vendor stalls and sample fragrant French cheeses along with wine.

Stop in at a neighborhood brasserie (casual restaurant) to soak up the ambiance and enjoy a savory serving of croque monsieur sandwich or French pie. Finally, finish the tour on a sweet note with nibbles of some of Paris’s best chocolates and French macarons from a confectionary, plus a special secret dish.

With a fully satisfied stomach, say au revoir to your guide near the Seine River.

The guide, Ingrid was great but the tour seemed a little lacking.

The bakery and chocolate shops were enjoyable. The wine and cheese tasting was a bit heavy. Would have preferred more of small tastings. Didn’t love the Malbec red wine. Thought we were going to a food market with fruits, etc…

We had a wonderful tour with our guide, Ingrid, who was so knowledgeable about the history of the Marais. She was filled with fun facts and knew all the hidden gems to treat us to a wide variety of tastings, many of which we might not have found on our own. It was a wonderful morning which enhanced our Parisian experience. I strongly recommend it.

Our entire family really enjoyed this walking tour, including the kids (ages 8 & 13). They made accommodations for my daughter who is a vegetarian. We tasted the best cheese and baguette we’ve ever eaten in our lives. Plus this is the neighborhood we are staying in, so it was nice to have a guide help us explore. You definitely leave full so plan on skipping a meal!

This was such an amazing experience for our family’s first time in Paris. Our tour guide, Ingrid, was wonderful! We sampled so many delicious foods and got a ton of history and explanation along the way. The tour was very carefully crafted, authentic, and diverse. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Really enjoyable and filling food tour of the Marais. Our guide was engaging and knowledgeable of each location and the stories behind the foods. A very nice - though not detailed - introduction to the Marais, so one should not expect a history tour. This is a casual and fun food exploration.

Our tour guide, Tosca, was friendly and fun, and all the food was delicious! We also met some fun people while sipping wine, so that was a great bonus!! A great experience and a fun way to experience the cuisine while touring this beautiful neighbourhood!

The tour was disappointing. We've been on several tours with your company in the past and enjoyed them. But this time, the explanations were so poor. The guide didn't tell anything interesting, constantly moved forward disconnected from the group, and barely explained anything... For tasting a croissant, 2 types of cheese, and a few other things, it's definitely not worth the time and the high cost.

Not secret and not gourmet.

The guide turned up wearing sunglasses and kept them on through his introduction until the first stop. He left us on the footpath and went into a bakery. On his return, he handed us a croissant and asked “What did you think about that?”. Hardly a secret or a gourmet start to the afternoon. We were later given one white wine and one red with a sandwich, and two pieces or cheese. The tour ended just over an hour instead of the promised 2 and 1/2 hours. I would not recommend this experience.

Very easy to locate our guide at the start. Tosca, our guide was extremely friendly and very good but could have given a little more background or history of a few more special locations in Marais. It was a little difficult understanding her English, unless you stood right next to her. But overall I would highly recommend the tour. Excellent food &dessert choices, and lots of sampling all along the way. May want to add an espresso stop at the end for the great chocolates!
