Highlight was Vaux Le Vicomte but entire tour was interesting and our guide Brunhilde was well organised well informed and an absolute delight. She handled the driving skilfully and included extra sights and explanations outside the main tour outline. Would definitely recommend the trip but would hope you had a guide like ours to ensure a really happy, relaxed and satisfying tour.

Great Sites Off the Beaten Path

These two locales are significant in French history yet do not share the same crowd level as Versailles which makes for a great experience. Our driver/guide had a good knowledge of both sites. A few minor things - skip the expensive and average lunch on-site at the Fontainebleau palace and eat in town. Also, you will be using audio guides at each site so I’m not sure that it’s much different than the other Viator tour of both sites that is less expensive.

These two chateaux are hard to reach by public transportation, and this tour offered the perfect solution. It was a full day of learning about history and architecture, touring opulent interiors and beautiful gardens, and enjoying a very comfortable and air-conditioned ride. I would never have been able to visit both chateaux in one day if it wasn’t for this tour, and it cost about the same as visiting just Fontainebleau by metro/train/taxi. Plus, our guide was terrific!

The chateaux were gorgeous. Loved renting a golf cart at Vaux. Wonderful to be in the countryside away from the Paris crowds. On the negative side, our guide Victor, though an excellent driver, lacked guiding skills. He was not assertive and was very hard to understand at times, forgetting key names and dates. Care for the group could have been better. Some more training would help.

This was a fantastic tour. We thoroughly enjoyed both Fountainbleu and Vaux-le-Vicomte. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. She gave us lots of pertinent information that helped us to understand the time period of both Chateaux. There was ample time for lunch, and also a quick stop at a 12th century castle. I would highly recommend this tour.

Fountainbleau was magical. Was disappointed that at Vaux Le Vicompte, we did not have the audio guides to use, nor could we rent the carts to tour the gardens. This Sunday happened to be a dress up day with a filmed production.

Guide was great. She is a keeper. There is only one minor thing that would improve the trip.we had 45 minutes lunch. As you know waiters can be rather slow at times. I think you should always set a lunch at one hour. We could not even have dessert and just finished our meal and we were already three minutes late by the time we paid for it. Thank you very much.

Fountainbleu and Vaux le Viscomte - small group

This was a great tour of 2 magnificent chateau's. The guide was great at answering our questions and giving us background. I know that it's a time based tour so we can only spend so much time in each place, but trying to get through Fountainbleu in the amount of time had us rushing through the last part. And, although we got to go to the small town located next to Fountainbleu for our lunch, it's hard to actually find somewhere to eat in the alloted time. Thankfully, we brought our own lunch and I would highly recommend this. The area was crowded when we were there and most in our small van ended up getting snacks for their lunch as there just wasn't time to sit at a restaurant and order food. Both places we visited were amazing and worth the trip to see them.

Good tour although it pretty much consisted of a driver taking us to each site and then we did an audio tour at each place. Despite this I really enjoyed all two castles and our lunch stop was nice. Even in the rain it was great.

Our best tour yet! Victor was our tour guide today and was fabulous! He is very knowledgeable and shared lots of fun facts at each stop. Fountainbleau was amazing! So much to see! Vaux-LR-Vicomte wasn’t as busy and the golf cart tour of the gardens was the highlight! Our tour group have now become lifelong friends! There was lots of laughing and Victor handled the return trip to Paris incredibly well considering most of the streets were crowded from the Tour de France. He is an excellent driver. We would definitely do this tour again.

We absolutely loved our tour with Antoine to Fontainebleau and Vaux-Le-Vicomte. He was a great guide (and driver! Multi-talented.) who answered all of our questions and tailored an experience that best suited our small group - just 3 of us. We had plenty of time to visit and explore each location and learned a lot about general French history on our drives to and from Paris. We are very much looking forward to booking another tour with this company (and hopefully with Antoine!!!!) on our next trip to France.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Fontainebleau & Vaux-Le-Vicomte. Tej, our guide and driver, arrived right on time at Cafe Le Depart. Tej is so personable and a delightful guide. He is very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of both venues and had lots of interesting things to point out to us on the drive there. He helped us notice things we never would have seen on our own. We highly recommend this amazing tour through Blue Fox Travel.

Both sites are awesome. The "immersive" headphones experience at Vaux-Le-Vicomte made it our favorite of the tour. Our guide, Tej, was wonderful - extremely helpful and knowledgeable. You can't go wrong with this tour!

Excellent Excursion To Two Wonderful Chateaux

This was a great small group (eight guests) tour of two of the best chateaux that I have seen in France. Our guide was both efficient and extremely knowledgeable. The tour went off without a hitch. At Vaux-le-Vicomte, we used English language voice equipment to tour the chateau and the equipment worked perfectly. While we had voice equipment at Fontainebleau, it was less successful since it was far more complicated to use and actually posed a hindrance in seeing the castle rooms in the limited time available. The tour was exceptional and our guide knew all of the necessary things to get us the most return for the time we had. My only complaint is that we only had about an hour and a half for the tour of the rooms at Fontainebleau and this was not nearly enough time given the number of rooms that are open and the items to view in each of the rooms.

This was a terrible tour. We stopped to look at a ruin that was not on our trip. Then there was too much free time spent on lunch. When we got to Fontainebleau, we were told we would have an hour to see this hugh building. Our guide said not to read anything or spend any time in each room. He said to walk fast past each room, so we could get back early. This was very disappointing since this was not the trip we paid for. We expected at least a half day in this castle since it is so famous and large. We spent more time at Vaux-Le-Vicomte which was not necessary. I want my money back.
