The Battle of the Somme was one of the bloodiest in history and this tour traces the journey of the brave Allied soldiers of WWI. Aaron our tour guide made this tour! His knowledge, passion & personal experience was the highlight to our holiday. My Grandfather fought in this horrible war and to retrace his steps was an incredible experience.

Visiting the Western Front site at Lochnagar Crater, Hill 60, Poziers and the town of Villers-Bretonneux memorial sites was moving but informative. Very proud to be Australian when travelling through this region which is again beautiful farmland.

Our guide was Jonathan and he was very well versed in the battle. He took us to several sites, explained them, and then let us explore them on our own. He made some special things for our tour that added to it greatly. Anybody would be lucky to get him. He also has a good sense of humor and is a very good driver.

Nissa is an absolute fantastic guide, very informative and knowledgeable. Everyone was made to feel comfortable and all questions answered completely. This tour made our stay in Paris brilliant. This was a very moving and interesting tour. Our guide Olivier (Ollie) was very knowledgeable about the battles that took place in the region. The way the French people respect and maintain the war memorials is a credit to them. This is a great day out. Very educational and one not to be missed.

I can't recommend this highly enough. The whole day was great. It was an easy and smooth start and our guide, Ollie (Olivier), was brilliant. He was flexible and incredibly knowledgable. He was able to guide us across 6 different locations and offered powerful insights into the history of the places we visited. Being there, and seeing the locations of the battles, was incredibly powerful and brought the impact of the first world war into sharp relief. I'd definitely recommend.

For a very personalised experience with an extremely knowledgeable guide you cannot go past The Somme Battlefields Tour. The focus of the tour was very much centred on the Australian experience. We were in a group of five led by Olivier who went out of his way to make our tour informative and enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble and we were given plenty of time to view the sites. Lunch at Le Tommy was a great experience and the visit to the school at Villers-Bretonneux was an added bonus. For Australians and others this tour is a must do. Thank you Olivier!

This trip was absolutely amazing, Our guide Olivier (Oliver) was so great. Not only was he a great tour guide but he had a deep passion for the history involved. He not only gave facts and figures but you could tell he studied the deeper history and was glad to share it with our small group. He was very personable and was willing to customize the tour according to what we were interested in. The meeting place was so easy to find and was a perfect spot near the Arc de Triomphe. The countryside was beautiful and the monuments were well done. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone with a desire to learn more about WW1.

This was a very moving tour to take. I am so glad that I visited these sites and paid tribute to the great sacrifice that these young men made for freedom. The guide was excellent, the sites we visited were interesting, the memorials were tear jerkers, and the whole day was full of great moments that I will never forget! I highly recommend booking this small group tour. If you have Ollie as your guide you are 100 sure to love the experience.

This tour was better than I expected. The guide, Ollie, was very interesting and shared the moving history of the Somme battles in a detailed yet easy to remember way. I am glad I did this tour. I learned a lot and really enjoyed the trip. I highly recommend doing this tour. Tip: Remember to wear sunscreen. I forgot mine but luckily Ollie had some to share as we were outside for most of the day.
