Overview

We decided to take the tour from Phoenix so we could relax and take in the scenery, and are so glad that we did. Our tour guide/driver Howard had a never ending supply of knowledge about all of the areas that we passed through, as well as the Grand Canyon. We learned so much, saw more out of the way places that we would not have known about on our own, and ate lunch at a great restaurant with local flavor. A long trip that went by all too fast.

Great tour. Guide Chris provides a good balance of facts and anecdotes. Not boring or scripted. He always made sure our group knew plan of what we were Doing and taken care of. Glad this tour focuses on the Canyon so we could spend more time there. Well worth it and would do it again.

We had a wonderful experience with this tour! Our tour guide Will was very knowledgable and always made sure everyone was comfortable and safe throughout the day. He is also an amazing photographer which really comes in handy when trying to capture the beauty of the Canyon! We couldn't have asked for a better day trip from Phoenix!

The tour guide, Mike, (if I am not mistaken) was enthusiastic and accommodating during the entire trip. He gave use enough time to take pictures and provided substantial information about Grand Canyon.

Mother and Daughter Girls Trip

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our day trip to the Grand Canyon. Howard was a wonderful guide, very informative and very nice. Howard was gracious enough to take photos of all the people on the tour. The meals were well planned out and rest room breaks were frequent. Lunch in the Navajo Nation, Painted Desert was great. The vistas where we stopped on the tour were great, Howard knew the best ones to visit. We were picked up at a hotel where another passenger was staying and then taken back to our Airbnb when the tour was completed. Great way to see the Grand Canyon. (This was a family trip with my daughter, she is not a teen, but no other option was given by Viator to indicate what type of visit this was)

Our tour guide Mike was fantastic. Somehow he managed to entertain everyone - from my son to the older couple on our tour. He knew every story imaginable for the older adults, every photo spot for me and every good rock to climb for my son.

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience touring the Grand Canyon on Memorial weekend. Our guide Howard was wonderful. We learned so much about the area and the flora and fauna. He really added to the experience. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Was picked up at my hotel just before 7AM and back around 9:00PM. It was a great full day tour of the canyon. We stopped at a local tourist restaurant for lunch so plan on spending about 20 for lunch and then having a fast food dinner. It was a nice trip overall.

It all comes down to who your tour guide is. This is a very long day and our guide was a born-again Christian who wanted to make sure everyone onboard was saved too. This got old very fast. Also it was very foggy at the Grand Canyon so we didn't get to see much at all except a huge herd of elk who came right up to the van we were traveling in. Someday I'd like to go back since I didn't really get to see the Canyon itself but I will make darn sure I'm not going to be preached to for 12 hours.

The sights were beautiful and would definitely receive 5 stars plus. However, our bus driver was on his 4th time for this tour and wasn't top notch as we had expected. He only talked when a question was asked for the most part and then didn't always have an answer. He apparently wasn't that familiar with the route, as we turned around often and he had to make phone calls to determine where to go at times. He made us rotate seating all the time even though most didn't care one way or another. And, he was so worried about time without taking into consideration that he had gotten lost countless times that we couldn't stop at our last place. Robert is a nice young man, but perhaps not cut out for this type of work?

Hi David. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We value your input. Your point about your guide getting lost because he was not prepared is a valid one. We put our guides into our training program and don't let them on their own until they are ready. Robert was obviously not ready. We realized that while he was on tour with you. Your tour was actually Robert's first tour he conducted on his own. When we realized his unpreparedness during your tour we were on the phone with him frequently helping make the day go as smooth as possible. He was put back into our training program and is out on tour again. He is monitored and evaluated each time. We sincerely apologize as we strive to give our guests the best touring experiences and memories possible. Next time you are in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area we hope you will join us on another tour.
