perfect day trip to chichen itza!

absolutely perfect! our driver Eduardo (10 stars just for him) arrived at our hotel early. we hit the road, made a stop for a snack and bathroom break and arrived at chichen itza. we met our tour guide and were able to see everything before the rush of busses came in. We were off to Vallolidad where we had lunch and it was great. Our driver took us to a monument and shared some history along the way. Finally, we drove 20 minutes to a Cenote where we were two of six people there. clear waters, beautiful views, everything was great. We drove back home accompanied by a versatile playlist and comfortable drive, arriving at about 5PM. Thanks Eduardo, we felt so lucky to have you guide us and take us to and from locations safely and making us laugh along the way.

A must book! Hisa was an incredible tour guide. We had a swift pickup exactly has described. Hisa was super friendly and chatty throughout making us feel extremely comfortable for the whole trip. The tour itself was breathtaking, complimented further by the immense knowledge of Hisa throughout. He was extremely accommodating and made sure we were well looked after, ensuring we didn’t have to wait in any queues. If you’re thinking about going to Chichen Itza, this tour is an essential book!

Lalo, if you're reading this, we can't thank you enough for such an amazing tour. You were super accommodating, knowledgable, and great to chat with. We booked the private tour to Chichen Itza. We were picked up at our hotel and driven straight to the site without the need to find a taxi or parking. The tour guide showed us around the site and gave us as much additional time we as wanted afterward. We ate a local place at Valladolid that was recommended by Lalo which had the best pork our entire time in Mexico. After lunch, the cenote we visited was absolutely breathtaking, and not crowded at all. All around, fantastic experience!

This tour could not have been better! Our guide Julio was incredible! So knowledgeable and catered the day to our family perfectly! We got to Chichen Itza right before it opened so we were some of the first people in before it got too hot or crowded. Julio thoughtfully educated us about the Mayan history and architecture of the area! We learned so much!! Just when the kids had enough, we left and had a table waiting for us in valladolid at a super cute restaurant with incredible food!! Then the highlight of the day was the hidden gem of a cenote which we had all to ourselves! We all jumped off the high platform and swam around the crystal clear turquoise water. It was one of the most amazing experiences we’ve had as a family! Don’t think twice - book the private tour and ask for Julio!!

Our driver and guide Eduardo was superb and full of insights, information and humor. While he has lived in Quintana Roo for most of his life was born in San Francisco and has traveled extensively to the United States. He therefore speaks fluent English and can give great context to the information he provides so that foreigners can relate to it. He also knows great food - we really enjoyed the lunch he recommended! On top of all that he takes great photos. We enjoyed the trip and highly recommend Mexico Highlights and Eduardo!

Wonderful experience from start to finish! We were picked up by our guide, Alan, who was professional and friendly, telling us lots of interesting facts about the area as we drove to Chichén Itzá. We were then dropped off with our guide at the site, Joel, who was very knowledgable and told us some mind-blowing facts about the site and its Mayan history. After Chichen, we were driven to Valladolid, a very traditional Mexican town, where we had a wonderful lunch in a beautiful setting, recommended to us by Alan. We then drove to a cenote which was not one of the busy ones, so it enhanced our experience so much. We basically had the place to ourselves. It was stunning and we had the best time. We were dropped off at our hotel at 5pm, cutting out the ‘dead time’ of the group tours which stop at every hotel in the area to drop off. So glad we chose a private tour and so thankful to Alan for making our day one to remember!

We enjoyed the day with our driver Eduardo. Glad we went early to Chichen Itza, it was packed by the time we left! The Cenote we visited was amazing, family operated & not really busy. The town of Valladolid was enjoyable & the restaurant arranged for us was great! Paying a little extra for the private experience was well worth the money.

Hisa was an amazing guide. He picked us up on time, held great conversation but also let us nap if we wanted. We got to Chichen Itza before it opened and then were able to enjoy Chichen without so many people once they opened. We had a delicious breakfast in Valladolid and then ended our day at the cenote. Having a private guide and a car just for us made the trip so so worth it. We did another group activity and quickly realized the value in private transfer. Rather than wasting 2 or more hours picking up others, we went straight to our destination!

My family greatly enjoyed our private Chichén Itzá tour. We had the tour guide Hisa and he was awesome. We got there right at opening which beat the heat and the crowds. Hisa was very knowledgeable and we were grateful to learn about the ruins from him. We enjoyed our meal in Valladolid and the short walk around town. We also loved the Cenote we went to. It was beautiful, refreshing, and not crowded. We had the place to ourselves for a good 15 minutes. I highly recommend this tour.

Hisa was an incredible tour guide! He picked us up at our hotel promptly at 6:30am and took us right to Chichen Itza. On the drive he shared a ton of great information about Mexico, the history, culture, and wildlife. He was super knowledgable about the site and took great photos of us. After Chichen Itza we went to Valladolid to check out some additional historical sites and have lunch. He even took us to a local chocolate store and the city hall building for some more site seeing and history. Last, but not least, we stopped at the Xux Ha Cenote which was super cool. There were only a couple other people there, so it wasn't crowded at all. He gave us plenty of time to swim and hang out before getting us safely back to our hotel. Overall it was an amazing experience. Hisa really took care of us and made sure we were comfortable and had a great time. Highly recommend!

It was perfect! We had our private tour with Alan and then Joel at Chichen Itza. Just my husband and I. On the way there, we had great conversations with Alan and learned so much and just in general good conversations. At Chichen we met Joel. Joel was extreamly knowledgeable and taught us so many things. We are happy we had a tour guide because we learned so much more than we would have without him. The clapping to hear the bird was so amazing. Back with Alan to an amazing local spot for lunch and Valladolid. Amazing markets and the Cenote we went to was perfect. Not busy and so beautiful. It was an amazing trip with an amazing guide. If we had a choice we would choose Alan for everything we do. No offense to others, I am sure they are great too.

A bit of a no-brainer

Excellent time! We were staying in Playa, so it was a long drive. If we rented a car, just passing through multiple tolls, dealing with directions, and dealing with lines (which we got to skip), would have been a nightmare. This is kind of a no-brainer just from a cost to headache perspective. Not to mention, you've got your own personal tour guide who gives you the full history of everything. I'd highly recommend, would recommend touring any other way.

I cant recommend this tour enough! Chichen Itza and the cenote exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend the private tour. Im not big on being trapped in a van with people I dont know so this really solves that and the dedicated attention is worth the money.

Jessica was a fantastic guide! She arrived early and got us on the road fast (and offered us a chance to get coffee if we needed it). The driving was so smooth that we were both able to nap during different parts of the trip. At Chichen Itza, we were among the first to enter with little wait. The tour followed the order of the sacred ceremony with lots of illustrations for us to visualize what it would’ve looked like in the pre-Columbian days. Jessica offered to take several pictures of us as we went along the tour. We also got the opportunity to see and feel what the ball used in the great ball courts and learn how the Mayans added color to their art. When given a choice between fine dining and a road-side experience for lunch, we chose the roadside experience. Best food of our trip so far—though there were only three choices, they were all fantastic and the salsa was amazing! The visit to the town was underwhelming, because the church and convent were closed, but Jessica gave us lots of information about the construction of the area. Finally, we visited the cenote. The facilities are nice and clean and the cenote itself was aw-inspiring. Just a fabulous tour! Can’t say enough positive things about it.
