Would not recommend - Especially if English speaker
Peishan_L, Apr 2024
Probably one of the least enjoyable tours I have been on despite the tour guide being enthusiastic. Firstly, price does not include another 40USD tax per person, and additional expenses along the way such as compulsory life jacket rental (5USD) and other necessities such as locker and umbrella rentals (as we did the Chichen itza tour in the afternoon sun) all 5USD. Next, there was a lot of waiting around on the bus or to board the buses (average of 30mins to 1h at each location). There was also additional tourist traps shops, to buy souvenirs and there was a long time allocation for these compared to R&R time at the town which would have been more enjoyable. Would have been better if there were options to opt out of it and spend it at the town. Itinerary was also changed to the Cenote swim first and as such we went to Chichen itza in the afternoon which was too hot. English translation was fair - guide predominantly Spanish speaking. Whole tour took 13h but perhaps only 3-4h were meaningful.
Very Dissapointed.

The day is too long. I have been to the site before and had a way better experience. The tour guide at the sure was not very knowledgeable and ran through the entire site in 15 minutes leaving many things out. Since I've done the tour before I filled my partner in with very significant facts about the site. Also we stopped in unnecessary townd on the way to the site and on the way back home that wasted about 3 hours of our time. This made me cancel my tour the next day to Tulum. Very Disappointing. Viator tours are usually excellent.
Good guides not sure I'd recommend the overall package.

Highs: Really good guides. They were mostly engaged in keeping the group entertained along with providing great insights about Mexican traditions throughout the trip. Lows: Unfortunately, this experience wasn't ideal. Starting with miscommunication - the package I bought had hotel pickup included however I was informed 24 hours prior about having to arrive at a meeting point. They did arrange for a partial refund upon raising this issue. The whole day is filled with upselling - from stops at shops, selling stuff inside the bus, and more. They have often all the sale deeds would be towards "improving the community". Lastly, on the way back the bus inspite of being really close to the meeting point was diverted towards dropping off guests at hotels at far off locations. This was extremely disappointing (no fault of guests) because this added an hour to the already long day (12-14 hours) without any sort of advanced communication.

Fred and Christian were so great. It was so nice to be taken care of for the day and shown the Mayan culture while touring. Fred brings a phenomenal amount of knowledge and supporting the local culture. Spring for the option of having drinks included so you can have more time at the stops. It may seem obvious but I forgot to bring water shoes, a towel, and something to hold my wet bathing suit so bring that and a good amount of cash. Most places don’t accept cards and/or cards are more expensive to process for the small businesses. Cash is courteous.

My partner and I had a great time on the tour! Our stops were amazing and we had a great experience in learning. At times the Spanish to English translation was quick but was still a great time!
Great day at Chichén Itzá and cenote Saamal
Antoine_M, Feb 2024
Amazing time at Chichén Itzá, and great swim at a beautiful cenote after. But too much time at the Mayan community/ launch
Well worth the money and the time.

Excellent tour. Very knowledgeable guides who shared a lot about history is the Mayan. Fantastic day!
The guide was horrible and very bad prepared
Luciano_C, Jan 2024
The guy called “Gus Gus”, was very rude, he lacked of knowledge in both English and even Spanish. He was a very unhealthy condition and he fell to sleep several times and even stand. He had bad-manners and luck very aggressive with people. We just wait till the end to run away. Horrible experience
AVOID CANCUN BAY TOURS
Merryl_B, Nov 2023
Worst tour ever + extremely rude and unhelpful company. Guide claimed the company KNEW the bus was not good to drive but we were taken on it anyway, risking all of our safety. Bus broke down with bad transmission. We were stuck on the side of the highway for 2+ hrs while the guide kept telling us it'd be only 20 mins. Ended up seeing only some of Chichen Itza for 30 min before it closed. Did not get to see or swim in cenote at all. Guides either did not communicate with us (in Spanish or English) to tell us what was happening, or when they did, it was full of lies. Obviously some things were out of the guide's control, but rather than be upfront about it he lied to our group of about 50 people all day saying we'd have time to see everything despite knowing the delay, travel times, and closure times of the ruins and cenote. We not only did not see most of what was promised, but the guide also yelled at us telling us we were ungrateful for being unhappy while we were stranded on the highway with them giving us little information. To top it all off, at the end of the day, the company had the gall to offer us the equivalent of $8 US dollars of a refund (tickets were $60 each) and to come on another tour with them. After this experience, I would not trust them to take me anywhere.
Great Tour

It was a great tour. I really enjoyed all the activities included with the tour. My only concern was that I paid for a hotel pickup but I had to meet the driver at a meeting spot. I reached out to Viator and they quickly resolved my issue.
Great Tour

Francisco was a great guide. Very knowledgeable about the history of all places we visited. Definitely recommend

The trip was really nice and I enjoyed it. However I did not like the hidden fees. The website advertised $50 or so without pick up. However on the day of the trip in the morning I was informed that I had to pay $35 additional taxes. I did pay it - I had no choice but it felt like a scam. There was no mention about this $35 in the website during the booking. I will dispute it with my credit card.
Not worth the money
Gemma_M, Jun 2023
This was supposed to be an exciting day out. However we had to endure a number of hours of upselling. Seeming to try to force you to spend money on random rubbish. The lunch was disgusting and not worth the cost. The advert for the trip includes refreshments etc. however this is not the case. I was glad we took water with us else it would have been a very expensive day.
Response from Host, Jun 2023
Good morning Gemma We so sorry for the inconvenience. We just refund to you the different fee betwwen the tour you booked and the tour we provided. We had a mistake with your booking at the moment to set up in our system booking Best regards
Good trip but annoying with up-selling
Adam_H, May 2023
Trip was really good and the tour guide was amazing. The only downside is the constant up-selling during the trip of trying to get you to donate to local charities and placing your picture on a bottle of local Mayan alcohol for you to buy.
Great experience
MISSKULDIP_G, May 2023
Highly recommend this tour with cancun bay tours. Victor was our guide and he was so entertaining. Bursting with passion and knowledge on the mayan culture and traditions he made this whole excursion worth every penny along with his colleaugues and the driver of course. Thank you for providing us with such knowledge on this subject. Highly recommend. Only downfall is take water with you. The day was so hot and we were advised the drinks were too warm to have on the way so we were waterless until lunch. The whole day is worth every penny. However they were unlimited on the way back 😄 as they managed to source a cooler box.
Great for Solo traveler

We had such a fun group on this tour. Our guides made sure that had as much fun as possible considering it was such a long day. Learned a lot as well
Amazing Chichen Itza
Adam_A, Oct 2022
Alejandro, Luis and Ricardo were excellent Hosts. Luis and Alejandro provided interesting and informative information about the different locations that we stopped at and Ricardo got us to our various destinations safely. Chichen Itza and Cenote were the highlights of the trip. I would have love to have spent more time at each of these stops.

Overall a pretty fun trip. There were 4 stops, Mayan village, chitchen itza, a cenote, and Valladolid. The main tour guide just seemed like a businessman who sold products to the GroupMe the guide at chichen itza was excellent and very helpful and answered all of our questions.
Lunch concerns
Madison_T, May 2022
The only complaint I have is the servers at lunch. I tried to order a beer two times before I was listened to. I even ordered in Spanish! I tried to order a margarita as my 3rd drink and was told I would have to pay (even though I was told cocktails were included w/premium). Then I tried to order a beer and he refused bc I couldn’t take it on the bus. However, the bus hadn’t left yet so I had time. I ended up leaving with a water bc I didn’t want to forfeit my last water.
