Palli was a phenomenal guide! I could tell that he was really enthusiastic and passionate about what he does! He was engaging, and if there was down time, he was happy to let people rest their eyes while he kept his eyes on the sky. What I loved most about this particular tour was if there was no luck with views on the date of your initial booking, you can re-attempt as many times as you want!! How awesome!! I had a wonderful time and would recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Iceland!

It's a great tour. They knew exactly where to go to get the best view.
      roger_k, Apr 2024
They took us to a few of the best view points and we got to see the lights. They took pictures themselves and sent us links to view them at a later date. Picked us up on time, the guide was very informative and all in all, the tour went very well.
Great tour thanks to the guide Palli--would recommend!

Great tour! Palli has a lot of enthusiasm for the lights and for giving people a good experience. We went to a couple of places, finding a beautiful spot away from the city and the clouds. Once it got dark, the lights came out! Palli set up his camera and took pics of everyone with the lights in the background--as many pics as we wanted. We had fun learning how to spot them, and he was available for answering questions. The hot chocolate was fine--nothing to crave. But the cinnamon buns were super yummy! Also the wool blankets were a nice touch. I liked that it wasn't a huge group--it maxes out at 19--and that the ride was comfortable. I wished I'd had gloves that would let me operate my phone without taking them off because of course it was cold! Thank you for helping us see the magical lights! I wouldn't have known where to go, what to look for, or when to look, on my own.

For so late in the season we were pleased when the weather cleared enough to be able to go see the northern lights and we actually saw them! The moon was 3/4 so they weren’t as bright as I would’ve preferred but they were beautiful

The photo exposure is the key other than that the actual lights with intense green lights as shown in pictures were not at all present
      Fantastic Northern Lights viewing tour

Palli was a fanatastic and enthusiastic tour guide. His expertise led us to finding northern lights not too far from the city. We got to see green, blue and purple colors and it was truly a once in a life time experience. Would highly recommend it!
      Once in a lifetime
      Jen_A, Apr 2024
This was truly a once in a lifetime experience! Our guide, Balkan, called the activity a 9/10 and took us to multiple spots to get the best view. The hot chocolate and cinnamon buns were just a bonus! Make sure you dress warmly - you won’t want to miss anything warming up in the bus!
      read the fine print

Word to the wise: this trip is not refundable, so do NOT schedule it towards the end of your time in Iceland. Because if you do not see the lights (as we didn't) whether from clouds or unfavorable conditions, you will have paid a LOT of money for a drive into the dark countryside to drink hot chocolate. And you are only offered a free re-booking if you do not see the lights, no other financial consideration.
      Couldn’t have done it alone

In this, my second trip to Iceland, I very much wanted to try the Northern Lights as the time of year was good. Our guide was critical to keeping our groups energy that evening and his photography memorialize the lights for us to share in a way we could never have done on our own. Great!
      It was fun

It was fun...but cold! Tour driver, Michael, was very good. The lights were subtle but clearly there. Thanks
BG provided an outstanding experience viewing the Northern Lights!
      Zaria_E, Apr 2024
BG collected me directly from my hotel. I preferred using this service since we would be able to go off road and it was a smaller group. BG was an outstanding tour guide. He was able to give us history on Iceland, as well as provide history on the Northern Lights. We arrived to our watching location at around 10:30/11pm. At the beginning of the night, there was a 0% chance at us seeing the northern lights, however, that changed around 1 AM. We were actually packing up to leave, and suddenly we saw the northern lights! It was amazing. BG also brought his camera out, so you didn’t have to worry about capturing photos by yourself. He took as many photos as you wanted. Some advice, wear several layers and bring insulated jackets, gloves, hats, scarfs and blankets. Being out in the open, the wind and cold was brutal. Thank goodness for the hot chocolate and cinnamon buns BG provided to warm us up a bit. 100/100 experience!

The tour operator went above and beyond to make sure we saw the lights. He also showed everyone how to adjust their camera settings to get the best shots of the lights. The tour states it is about 3 hours long but because he was trying to ensure that we saw the lights, it ended up being closer to 6 hours. This was only a problem because we had our elderly Mother with us and we were in the middle of nowhere so there were no restrooms. We knew the tour would be going to remote areas so we had only signed up for the tour because it wasn't supposed to be very long. So just something to keep in mind if you plan to take this tour with elderly people or small children.
      Great tour

BG was great and the tour was very informative, in a comfortable vehicle and the hot chocolate was excellent. Sadly, as much as they tried to find the breaks in the cloud, we didn't get to see more than a whitish streak of the lights.
      Wonderful Adventure to the Lights

Excellent experience with Palli. He took us to a great location and made the experience both informative and exciting. The photos came out great!
Awful tour - save your money!
      Lauren_B, Apr 2024
A total disappointment. Our driver/guide was completely unenthusiastic - spoke in monotone with his hand over the mic so it made an unpleasant hiss & we had no idea what he was saying. He did not have any excitement about the experience. LOOOONG periods of complete silence. (Other tours we did in Iceland had guides who clearly love their country & their jobs.) Plus he was not at all a good driver! I was excited that the trip had a max of 19. The bus, however, would have been uncomfortable with 10. It was PACKED. My sons are tall & they were miserable. The tour description gives you the sense that we would be chasing the lights to find the best place to view them. We envisioned a team who would be sharing the best places, but it was just our driver checking the internet. We went to one place & sat for two hours, even though the lights were not really great there. He was just watching the clock until midnight when he could bring us back. The cinnamon rolls are like you find in a supermarket. The only good part is it was so indescribably bad that we had to laugh - A LOT. Total waste of a lot of money.

BG was wonderful! He found the lights very quickly and we are lucky we chose to do a guided tour because there is no way my friend and I would’ve caught them without him! He really wanted us to see the best lights which was awesome. It was cold but he had the best attitude the whole time!
      Engaging and Fulfilling
      Taylor_I, Apr 2024
Daniel was really friendly and funny along the trip. It’s hard to keep a bus full of tourists engaged at midnight while traveling out in the middle of nowhere but he did! We stopped at places to use the bathroom beforehand and the hot chocolate was amazing. He made sure to give us the full experience and offered as many pictures as we wanted.
      Fun and adventurous

The most memorable part of the experience was hunting down the northern lights. Although we weren’t able to see it with the naked eye. The iPhone 15 was able to use night mode when taking pictures and caught some quality pictures of the northern lights. Paulie our tour guide was amazing and I’d highly recommend.
      Lovely Northern lights
      Kathleen_M, Apr 2024
Our guide Michael was very informative, and went the extra mile to find the lights, with us ending up about an hour and an half from Reykjavik. And it was well worth it, with a beautiful show of the Northern lights.
      Wonderful
