    The best way to get to the parade with total comfort and safety is by hiring our transport service to the Sambadrome. Shuttle service The departure time to the Sambadrome is from 6:00pm onwards. Note that depending on the hotel, the pickup time may vary. All the Transfers are with Tour Guide. We offer 4 return times - after the end of the 3rd, 4, 5 samba school performance and at the end of the show Pick up is only at the specific list of hotels, and Cruise Port for ship cruise passengers. IMPORTANT: Your ticket will be Digital or Paper, according to availability of the event organizers. Redeem them in advance, before the event! So be aware of the tickets redemption instructions message that you will receive after your purchase. For physical tickets, you must collect on specific dates at our office, or at the cruise ship port (you must inform in advance). For digital tickets, you must follow the email instructions to download the app and receive your e-tickets online.

        Good transit experience!

        This was a great way of getting to/from the Sambadrome parade. I'd give it 5 stars except that we waited for 30 minutes for a couple who was late for the departure. Otherwise, it was great to have an experienced driver navigate the crowded streets during one of the busiest times in Rio and to have a choice of return times (after the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th schools and at the end). The guides were waiting for us at the predetermined spot for departure. I would suggest that the guides make themselves more visible upon exiting Terminal 4. One of our group went looking for the reps. Now that I've done this and if I were a bit braver, I'd purchase seats directly from Rio Carnival and take my chances with Uber. The performances, costumes, floats, and music were non stop, beautiful, and unlike any other performance I've seen. The concrete bleachers are uncomfortable and hot. The spectacular experience, however, makes up for the discomfort! Bring water (two 500ml bottles per person permitted), a snack, and toilet tissue! For our return trip, we were two blocks from the pier when hundreds of people were blocking the street. A bunch of us chose to walk the remaining 2 blocks. We felt safe enough with this decision. Be prepared for minor upsets such as I've described. They will happen. It's Brazil and with 80,000 people trying to get to the Sambadrome at the same time, it's bound to happen!

        Carnival Parade bombards you with sights, sounds and an amazing atmosphere. It is a visual extravaganza never to be forgotten.
        Don’t waste your time and money booking this shuttle

        Carnival itself - brilliant experience. However the sole reason we booked this was due to the included shuttle. Red flags should’ve been raised when on pick up the company didn’t seem to know who we were to pick up where. The return journey was farcical. We were told a bus would leave 15 mins after each samba school had finished. We duly arrived at the pickup point on time and ended up waiting over an hour - and that was for a Copacabana shuttle. The organisers had zero clue as to what they were doing, we got passed from pillar to post and it was clear they had no plan to get us home. When we eventually did get a shuttle it drove right past our hotel to drop everyone else off meaning it was nearly 2.5 hours from leaving the sambadrome to when we got in. It would’ve been quicker and easier to arrange our own transport

        A Must-See on the bucket list but be aware of traffic issues

        Rio Carnival was a Must Do for us as arrived in Rio on the Carnival dates. The show is an exceptional spectacle, however, it is a long event. We were taken to the Sambadrome about an hour plus before the show started. The first Samba School kicked off at 10:00 pm and each school parades for an hour. 6 were scheduled. The music & colours are vibrant and the crowd ecstatic, dancing & good humoured. However after seeing two Samba schools we and quite a few others in Sector 9 chose to leave as it was 12:30 am by then. Others were more than happy to stay & take our places. The seating in sector 9 is on stone steps but that hardly matters as you stand as soon as the music/parade starts. The agent Alianca wasn't located inside warehouse 4, at the cruise terminal, but just outside. You have to find them to get the actual tickets validated & for the shuttle bus tickets. I would say they needed better signage like a pop up as they were just holding a small placard. The shuttle bus out and pick up from the Sambadrome was on time, but it took an hour and half to get back to the ship because of horrendous traffic hold ups. This was nothing to do with the company but apparently is a feature of Carnival days/nights as many local streets are also in Carnival mood. The Alianca staff on the bus were very good and did their best in trying circumstances.

        Wow, what an experience!!! REMEMBER, before going you will need to pick up your shuttle and Carnival tickets in a different location using your ID (passport)!!! We went to pickup tickets at the Copecabana location, which was easily reachable by Uber, had signs, and they confirmed my pickup spot. On the day of Carnival, we ended up waiting at our pickup spot for 50 minutes. I emailed the tour group, ALIANÇA, and they told me our pickup was running late due to Carnival traffic. I was getting nervous that we wouldn’t be picked up because we waited for so long, but our tour guide showed up in an orange and white shirt and brought us to a large fully AC tour bus. This isn’t so much of a “tour,” since there wasn’t talking on the bus. But because we took the English guide bus, our guide was able to answer any questions we had. The traffic to Sambadrome was VERY long!!! But when we got there, we had our tickets ready and went to our own sector. Please keep in mind, We DID NOT HAVE A GROUP THAT WE STAYED WITH INSIDE SAMBADROME. Once we entered using our tickets, we were on our own. The Carnival experience is amazing and the performances were so good! It was VERY PACKED WITH PEOPLE, so we stayed at the top of the stands to avoid being squished in the middle seats, and it allowed us to see everything very well. There is no assigned seating. After each performance, we had the choice to leave the Sambadrome and go back to our tour group meeting spot so that we can shuttle back home. Keep in mind to show up to the line early! We were going back to Copecabana, and there were many others who were in the line as well. We stayed for three performances, and were the last to be dropped off on the shuttle bus we took, so we got home around 4am. Overall, I’m glad we took this tour even if we’re alone for most of it, because we were able to ask questions in English while on the bus, and knew where to go after we were done. I felt very safe the entire time! TIP: - We brought water and snacks with us so we could last through the event - There are multiple samba schools performing, and each school is given 85 minutes to complete their performance - Between each performance, there is a short pause to queue for the next one - Queues for food and drink inside Sambadrome can be VERY long!!! Keep this in mind

        The Rio Carnival Parade is often called the greatest show on Earth and it is certainly not to be missed. The transportation was not as advertised however. The tour description said hotel pickup and drop off but we had to walk 20 min from our hotel to the pickup location and back. The tour is good for cruise passengers as the pickup location is directly in front of the cruise terminal but people staying at other hotels should be prepared to walk or get a taxi. Additionally we were expecting to be right on the front row, but I’m fact there’s were several rows in front of our box. This made the view not as spectacular as it could have been.

        The show itself (what we saw of it)is fantastic ..so much work goes into it..but the organisation is lacking ..we purchases Box tickets with shuttle ..on the voucher it does state that this is not your entry ticket and you must go to one of two places to collect them..we went to one in Copacabana and were given an envelope with our name which we assumed was all we needed due to language barrier..asking is this all and a nod of the head..OK inside was 2 pieces of cardboard that you must wear round your neck..we had to meet at a hotel that was nearest to our residence ..on pickup the guide asked for carnaval tickets..I said this was what we were given..OK on the bus..we got to the sambadrome only to be turned away as we actually had no ticket at all..only a transfer ticket.. we were taken back to the office of the transport company to see if it could be sorted..to their credit they didn't have to help as it was not their problem..however they did..us and another couple who had same problem booked with Viator.. after a couple if hours someone from the agency arrived with tickets and we went back but it was grandstand tickets and not the ones paid for ..we missed over half of the parade in all this time. This needs to be simplified ..I don't see why the Carnaval ticket qr code can't be emailed..I seen others scan their phone for entry. As said Carnaval parade itself is awesome the vibe inside is amazing..just make sure all tickets you need are given to you.

        This was a terrific excursion. We were picked up at the terminal and taken by bus to the Sambadrome Section 9 which was right in the center of the performances. When we were ready to leave representatives were present to lead us to the buses for the return trip to the Cruise terminal. This Rio Carnival Parade is terrific and one of the best sights that we have seen. It is certainly important to plan a cruise when this takes place. Viator did an excellent job running this excursion.

        Transfer arrangements from the Cruise Terminal to the Sambadrome and return worked perfectly. The seats provided were in a good position. We stayed until the fourth school had completed, ie up to 0230. It was magical! and the price was half of that charged by the cruise line!

        A grand spectacle, not to be missed when in Rio for Carnaval

        Sapucaí Sambódromo is a legendary venue. Besides the weather - there was a tropical storm that started at 10:00 pm and didn’t let up at all for 6 hours - the 2020 Champions Parade of 6 samba schools with the highest ratings from the previous week did not disappoint. The energy in the stands was really electric. Everybody was on their feet when the floats and contingents went by cheering the sambistas on. The schools themselves led by example in their enthusiasm for the whole deal. I particularly enjoyed Grande Rio there samba enredo is an earworm whose chorus is still ringing in my consciousness. But Salgueiro and Beija Flor were also memorable. The parade was a thrilling experience. The logistics of the vendor was good. The instructions to exchange the voucher for the tickets themselves were made clear from the beginning. However there was a minor mixup with the shuttle pickup at my hotel. It was still an amazing experience.

        Very pleased with Viator. Picked up our tickets in front of the cruise terminal exactly where Viator told us they would. Transportation routine to and from the Sambadrone was clearly explained to everyone. We stayed to 2:30AM and the guides were exactly where they said they would be. No need to go with the ship for 3 times the price

        Bus transportation setup is great. This saved a lot of headache trying to get to samba dome. The parade is very good but wish it could start a little earlier. First of the six school starter around 10:30pm and after watching 3 schools, it is already close to 2am. Can not stay to see all 6 samba schools which is unfortunate. Need to plan ahead if you want to stay up all night to watch it’s entirety.
