What To Expect

Your private tour can be customized to your preferences, so when you book, list any special interests you have so your art historian guide can tailor the itinerary.

On the day, meet your guide at Capitoline Hill near the equestrian statue of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, a replica of the original in the museums. Get an introduction to ancient Roman art and start your private 3-hour tour.

After admiring the Michelangelo-designed Piazza del Campidoglio, enter the famous Capitoline Museums, home to a renowned collection of Roman art, statuary and antiquities.

Stroll around as your guide shows you the main highlights, all displayed in wonderful halls decorated with 16th-century frescoes.

Admire the statues, vases and important monuments, and see masterpieces such as the original of the equestrian sculpture of Marcus Aurelius outside.

View the ruins of the 6th-century-BC Temple of Jupiter and walk down the surviving corridor of the Tabularium, ancient Rome’s archives office, to enjoy a wonderful view over the Roman Forum.

Listen as your guide identifies the landmarks, and after descending from the Piazza del Campidoglio toward the Forum, view Trajan’s Market, Trajan’s Forum and the marvelously sculpted Trajan’s Column as your guide discusses their history.

Your tour ends at Piazza Venezia.

I'd Give More Stars if I Could

This was truly unforgettable. It was the third and final tour of the ancient part of Rome. I had been concerned about duplication of information but each of the tours was slightly different and there wasn't very much overlap. This was the most in-depth tour. It covered bothe side of the ancient Forum, including Trajan's Column. It also covered more of the Forum than my other two tours had. And the included both tours of the imperial palace. Those tours are underground and feature reconstructions of the walls w/ light. It sounds odd but it works well. My guide then took me around the rest of the palace grounds and pointed out various features. She recommended two museums if I wanted further information. I visited the museum at the Palatine Hill. It is small but very good. I am so glad I took this tour. It was the completion of the visit to Ancient Rome. The guide is simply one of the best I encountered and I had some great guides.

Dear Customer, I thought I had already responded to your very kind review of the Roman Rome Tour from the Capitol...but I do not see it mentioned here. As soon as I saw your review I let Guia know about it and she was moved by it and very grateful. I am delighted that you appreciated this tour, which is still a very recent tour which we only presented last summer. We have had only three bookings for it and I hope more people would know about it. In any case we know that it exists and is appreciated by people like you. Thank you again, Rosa Maria Letts
Don't miss if you are in Rome

An excellent tour guide, highly knowledgeable in history and archeology. The tour it was difficult because we wanted to see such many things- House of Livia, House of Augustus, Imperial Fori, Roman Forum. Houses were impressive because they try to recreate the ancient atmosphere. For us, the tour means rediscover the roots, the ancestors. But anyway this tour definitely worth.

Dear Friend, Both your Guide Guia and I wish to thank you very much for the excellent review and description you gave of your Tour to the Forums. Sorry to best slow in doing it, but only recently I saw the review since we were preparing another Tour From the Capitol to the Trajan Forum. I wish you and your family a very good year, with the souvenir of a summer Roman Holiday. Best Wishes, Rosa Maria

Gianluca was FANTASTIC, such an ambassador for Rome. His knowledge and enthusiasm for for the art of ancient Rome was with out a doubt the highlight of this trip to Europe. We would gladly engage him for anything Rome.

Not worth the money. We probably should have told the guide exactly what we wanted in advance.
