Staring up at the Sistine chapel and looking at the School of Athens by Raphael was amazing. The other Vatican museums were alright and nothing too crazy. I wish we spent some time in the St. Peter’s basilica though.

I'm glad you enjoyed your experience at the Sistine Chapel and appreciated the beauty of Raphael's masterpiece, "The School of Athens"! Considering what you say about the St. Peter's Basilica; it's truly breathtaking and holds a wealth of history and art within its walls. We indeed leave the group at the end at the St Peter Basilica so you are able to visit it at your own pace. Hopefully, you'll have the opportunity to visit again and stay longer.
Title: Felt rushed, missed Raphael Rooms, no guided Basilica tour

We had booked a 10:00am tour, and the tour company had requested that we arrive by 9:40am. We got to the meeting location at 9:30am just in case, but the guide didn’t arrive until around 9:50am or so. Not a deal-breaker, but kind of annoying knowing that we might be short on time. Once we got inside the museum and through security, we were handed off to a different guide (with a different company name on her flag). She was fine, and at the beginning of the actual tour (which by this time was past 10:15am), she assured us that we should be able to have enough time to visit the basilica. The big problem came when she was going through the museum so quickly that we passed by a handful of interesting rooms, and we also missed one key portion of the tour - namely, the Raphael Rooms, which was one of the main reasons I chose this particular tour, as not all tours claim to offer this. By the time we made it through the Sistine Chapel, it was just past 11:30am, plenty of time to have spent a little time at any of the rooms or the Raphael rooms we skipped. Instead, after descending the stairs outside the Sistine Chapel, we were told to turn in our headsets, and we were instructed to explore the basilica on our own, with no guide to assist. Everyone in our entire group were a bit stunned that the tour was over. We had finished the guide portion of the tour in about half the time as indicated in the tour listing. Other than hitting the main highlights of the Vatican Museum, we were overall pretty unhappy and would not recommend this tour.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We sincerely apologize for the shortcomings you experienced during your tour on Good Friday, but as we mention in our tour description the hour and access to particular part of the Vatican might change due to private celebration or bank holidays. Is put of our power and control even because they usually get us the news with a short notice. We understand the importance of efficient time management, especially given the limited access to St. Peter's Basilica on that day. We regret any inconvenience caused by the delayed arrival of the guide and the rushed pace of the tour, leading to missed opportunities to explore certain areas of interest, such as the Raphael Rooms. Said that we know that the security guards closed the Rooms due to the crowdness on that time, so the guide couldn't take the froup inside for this reason. Remember even that the Vaticna Musuem is one of the largest collection in the entire world, that said is necessary having a planning with the highlights that for sure will cover the majority of the 3h tour that we provide. We talked to the guide and she assured us that the tour respected as much possible the shedule proposed originally, without ending earlier as you mention. Another important detail to mention is that inside the Sistine Chapel is prohibited talking and explaining, even more staying inside too much. Your comments will be thoroughly reviewed and addressed internally to ensure that similar issues are avoided in the future. We value your input and take your feedback seriously. Please accept our sincerest apologies once again, and we hope to have the opportunity to regain your trust and offer you a more satisfying experience in the future.

Our guide Silvia was friendly, very knowledgeable, and careful to keep the group together. I thought a tour of St Peters was included also, but that was my mistake. Take this into consideration when choosing your tour.
    Response from Host, Mar 2024
Thank you for your feedback! We're delighted to hear that you found Silvia friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to the group's needs. We apologize for any confusion regarding the inclusion of a tour of St. Peter's. We appreciate your insight and will take it into consideration to ensure clearer communication in the future. We hope you still enjoyed the tour and that we have the opportunity to exceed your expectations on your next adventure with us.
    Booked and left early.

Being left on the steps of the cafe. We arrived at 8:45 am for a 9am tour and asked everyone we could about our tour company which we couldn’t find. When we called at 9am they said they decided to start early and made no efforts for us to join. The Vatican is a lot to take in so we saw the Sistine chapel and left. What a profound disappointment. If you want to do an early tour have the tour leave early. They said they called and we received no emails or calls. We later found a call at 8:31am that didn’t come through. Please work with other tour groups. They were all there.

Best guide in our 2 weeks of European travel. Funny and very informative. An expert on Roman history, with plenty of modern references to keep the whole group interested. Despite extreme heat the tour passed quickly and he was careful to find shade wherever he could. An absolute not-miss for any travelers to Rome!

Vincenzo was an excellent guide and we learned so much! I can’t imagine going to the Vatican Museums without a guide now that I’ve had one. It's too big and there's too much knowledge that we had to take advantage of the opportunity and it was completely worth it. Highly recommend this tour!
