The San Antonio River boat tour was the most informational with a separate boat guide & could’ve been booked separately. The rest of the tour our guide David was rather vague on facts, and not organized on his ‘story telling’ of historical events. He seemed to be ‘phoning it in’

Elderly/Handicapped...This is Not for you

Driver (Rene) was late picking us up. Stood way over 30 minutes for Tower of the Americas & no place for ALL of us to sit & wait. All the other sites were closed by the time we left the Tower, so the driver drove thru several darkened neighborhoods pointing out houses in the dark. When we got to the boat ride I feel description was a bit deceiving since we were in a boat with lots & lots of people & sitting in the cramped middle section bumping knees with perfect strangers was NOT comfortable. After boat ride, there was a change of driver (Victor) & he was really good, but friends were pissed & ready to go home so Victor gave my husband & I a tour & good talk re: the Alamo& surrounding area.

Tower of Americas with no line?? No kidding.

We were able to experience the Tower of Americas at night . There was no line! We drove by the TofA the next day and the line was at least 2-3 blocks long! The panoramic view at night was amazing as well . Our driver Rene gave us many historical facts about S.A. as we drove through many neighborhoods which included the Alamo , the Emily Morgan Hotel (very spooky) , and the Pearl District. The evening ended with the River Cruise which was very enjoyable. It was a small group (7) which made it easier to navigate the sites. The hotel pick-up was a plus plus.

Good Way to Look Closer at San Antonio

Justin and Adam were great hosts. The evening's itinerary worked out great. We went up in the Tower of the Americas, strolled around The Pearl, explored the Pearl hotel lobby, walked the grounds of the Alamo, and participated in a riverwalk cruise. We enjoyed hearing history and great stories of important people, buildings, and moments. We did not go to the laser light show at the cathedral due to some time delays, but we were tired and it was about to rain, so that worked out fine. So convenient to be picked up and dropped off at our hotel. I thought The Pearl was beautiful and the architecture was interesting. The Alamo was pretty illuminated at night. The riverwalk cruise was relaxing and charming, and our guide provided more stories and information about the area.

The most memorable part of this was that we walked a bit when the description said driving and boat tour. We may not have chosen this since it’s difficult for my spouse to walk and for stand long times.

Tower of the Americas, slow van tour of special neighborhoods in the city, light show at the old cathedral, and boat ride on the River Walk. The only downside was the extraordinarily long wait to take the elevator to the top of the tower. But the guide made the most out of a bad situation.

Everything we were able to see was great! Seeing some sights at night was also a fun perspective. Traveling in a small group was also a bonus of this tour. One of the highlights was the stop at the Alamo! Our tour guide, Alfred was top-notch with TONS of interesting knowledge and facts about San Antonio culture and history.

Visiting the Pearl Brewery after the tour and having a drink with newfound friends! The small group of seven people and one guide met in the historic Emma Hotel and shared a night cap. We got to know our travel companions and shared information about interesting places to visit in San Antonio. That information came in handy over the next few days.
