A bit too 'touristy' tour for me
Jovita_U, Feb 2024
The Chichen Itza is a marvel worth visiting, despite a ton of tourist there. I wish we had more time for exploring it. Also, the cenote note was very beautiful. I strongly recommend visiting it. However, the previous comments about this tour being a tourist trap are correct. Throughout the tour it felt like we need buy and tip, repeat and repeat. When travelling, I like to support local communities, but this time it was too much. This spoiled the whole experience.

Oddly Entertaining, we were worried about our guide's health, the cenote was beautiful, I'd do it again
Ismael_B, Jan 2024
Our guide was so bad that it made the experience that much more entertaining. There was constant concern on the bus ride there that he was going to collapse from either a heart attack or whatever ailment was affecting him. He confessed to us at the cenote that he had an infection in his throat that was hindering his voice. This made so much sense since he was giving the tour in both english and spanish, and given that we were all bilingual, it was surprising that none of us could understand what he was saying. Poor guy...he tried. The cenote part was absolutely beautiful and the little town that they take you to eat lunch at before the Chichen Itza portion felt like a cash grab, a few of our crew really felt a connection with the readings they received about their names. The food there was also quite good, it was simple, but I feel that's what made it quite good.

Good tour to understand Mayan history

Lots of information from the guide on Mayan history. A very interesting tour. Unfortunately, the bilingual part is a bit too quick, it’s a bit difficult to follow.

Way too long!
Jamie_M, Jan 2024
This tour was way too long. Painfully long. We left almost an hour and a half late which got us back at 9 pm. It was not made clear that lunch was another separate stop along the way which shortened the time at the places you wanted to see. If looking to go to Chichen Itzá look for a different tour with less stops.
Response from Host, Mar 2024

Awful tour guide, go by yourself.
Sarthak_E, Nov 2023
Chichen Itza was amazing the tour guide was absolutely awful. He kept screaming in the mic for 2 hours in the bus talking about random stuff and told us basically nothing about the actual history and culture. He doesn’t know how to hold his mic and they kept trying to forcefully sell us things again and again and again. It was very very annoying. Our first stop was a souvenir stop and we spent very little time, 40 mins at the Cenotes spot.
Response from Host, Mar 2024

better to check before you book.
Pratiksha_B, Mar 2022
we were told to .5 hours free time at Itza, that was okay ( not really needed that much ) we were told to give 2.5 hours free time at Cenote caves ( only 30 min given ) and that is also it was cancelled before and everyone got so annoyed and last moment finally visited. Mainly, we were taken for a shopping which was not a part of our trip at all. it was just a waste of 3 hours of our time for no reason. we were supposed to reach to hotel at 7 p.m but reached at 10 p.m. Whole day was a wasted. very disappointing
Response from Host, Apr 2022
Hello Pratiks We are very sorry that you felt this way on the tour, this tour is long because it is shared and Chichen is also remote, so times vary. Regarding the changes, normally it takes between 45 minutes to 1 hour in the cenote, not 2.5 hours. Perhaps there was a misunderstanding, and regarding sales it is to help the Mayan community, however, it is not mandatory. We hope you can book a Chichen Itza 2 Cenotes or a Private one with us, so that we can meet your needs.
