The basics

The Amsterdam Tulip Museum makes for a nice stop when touring the Jordaan district of Amsterdam; or after a visit to the Anne Frank House, or Westerkerk Church. Admission is free with the I Amsterdam City Card, which also provides free admission to many of Amsterdam’s top attractions—as well as free public transport throughout the city. Visitors are welcome to browse the museum shop without paying the museum admission fee.

It’s a lot prettier when the sun is out and it’s not cold but well worth the experience even if it does seem a little touristy. The guide and captain are also funny and knowledgeable.

How to get there

The museum is located just across the Prinsengracht canal from the Anne Frank House. From Amsterdam Central Station, take tram #13 or #17 to the Westermarkt stop, and then head north on Prisengracht. Driving is not recommended in central Amsterdam, but the closest public parking garage is Q-Park Europa Parking on Marnixstraat.
