Built by King Louis IX to house a relic of the crown of thorns—now kept at nearby Notre Dame Cathedral—the 13th-century Sainte Chapelle is renowned for its striking Gothic architecture and some of the most exquisite stained glass windows in Europe.
Sainte Chapelle was very beautiful but the Conciergerie was the unexpected gem!
The hand held tablets were an innovative way of comparing present and past.
Lovely tour, slow pace so it was easy, Jessica (I think?) really knew her stuff. Notre Dame was still closed but we still got to see the beautiful facade. Sainte Chapelle was amazing to see, the stain glass windows are next level!
Sanctuary stained glass was extraordinary. Definitively had the ‘wow’ factor. The guide we had (Caroline) did a great job of telling the history and keeping things moving.
Walking into the interior of San Chapelle was breathtaking. The visit to Marie Antionettes’ prison was a worthy addition to the tour. We still had to wait to get into San Chapelle but walked straight into the prison. William the guide was excellent with a great deal of knowledge and friendly attitude. Directions for finding the starting point were easy and accurate.
Wonderful tour. Our guide Abby was excellent. We learned a lot about the area and sites visited. It was an added bonus that the Seine tour could be done anytime.
Adam is the most educated and entertaining Viator tour guide we have ever had. He provided both the past history, and current cultural/scientific environment of the sites visited. Since this is a walking tour he also provided histories of other famous sites along the way. Being that we were first time visitors he also provided a number of tips to help us positively interact with people we would encounter and navigate the metro. I strongly recommend this tour.
Amazing hidden gem with history I had never heard before. My video of the inside has been viewed to the amazement of all of my friends. So thankful to Viator getting me tickets at the last moment and it allowed us to pass the long lines!!
The tour was wonderful, absolutely excellent.
We really enjoyed everything. Adam our tour guide was absolutely wonderful.
His Knowledge of Paris and Art History was superb.
I would highly recommend this tour to my friends
Thank You so Much

Excellent comprehensive tour. Guide was extremely knowledgeable about French history. Saw Notre Dame, full tour of the Conciergerie and Sainte Chapelle. Great start to our Paris experience.
The guide was very passionate about the art and the history behind the construction of these two churches. Unfortunately, the reconstruction of Notre Dame doesn’t allow you to see the site closer.
