The basics

Special exhibitions include everything from group and individual shows to international prize displays, while the main exhibition explores photography’s past, present, and future, in an attempt to answer the question “What does photography do?” The museum also hosts lectures and meetings, and features a library and reading room, as well as an excellent bookstore.

There’s a charge to visit the main exhibition at the museum, with additional charges for special exhibitions. Entry to the main exhibit is included in the KrakowCard city pass.

MuFo Strzelnica and MuFo Jozefitow

There are two other branches of MuFo in Krakow. MuFo Strzelnica is in the Stara Strzelnica shooting range, an architecturally spectacular setting some way out of the center. This hosts two exhibitions, a photography club, and a garden with equipment you can use in good weather. The other, which was previously MuFo headquarters, is at Jozefitow, and is open for guided tours only, with a focus on conservation and archiving.
